The Lazy 2016 Escape!
First I have the 2.0 Turbo Engine. Let's start with the Vista roof. You cannot have the windows down as the head liner will flip and drive you crazy at any speed. I have taking it on one major trip and now have parked it and looking to sell it soon. Under the front is a cheapest cardboard covering of the engine you will ever find! That's is until you have to have it replaced because of a piece of Truck tire that hit it. What it really does, is protect a small piece on the A/C compressor that looks like a afterthought. It's fuel Economy should be more. I would look at a Edge because of power verses mileage. The Escape doesn't corner well. At least with the 19" tires. It's tall and narrow and drifts. For the money, you can find a better SUV. The 2017 has made changes the 2016 doesn't have. Like a bigger gas tank. Then their is the shifter that is to far forward on the 2016 but was moved on the 2017. You will like the sound but that can come on just about any Ford, the sync 3. I had one side window blow out on a turnpike and the glass did not stay together but went everywhere, lucky for me, my grand-daughter was asleep under a blanket. The hood was really ugly but the 2017 they did some changes also. I would stay away from this SUV and look at others before I buy and also look at the HP. The 2017 added more HP, but again when you get only about 3 mpg over a 300 HP V6, I would really look at the V6 Engine. Last, when will Warranty be upped on a Ford? Even the Lincoln has 4 years. Many others have better and for the money I really would not do this again. And for love of money don't buy a White one if people around you burn wood as it's a magnet for soot! The tailgate on mine goes in for a look as waving my 11" shoe will not open the back. I hope this helps someone, Thanks! Oct-2018 Update: After driving this car since Sept. of 2015 I have found out more things to you buying a used 2016 Escape. ( I bought mine new) For the biggest problem, I would start with Blinds spots. This is very important to safety! Even though this SUV has mirror blind spots Led's, the shape of the mirror's nixed this feature. It is important to turn your head going into a merge that will allow you to see a vehicle. Lets say you are merging into a highway and the traffic is going 70 Mph. You could very easy get into a accident because of the very large area between the windows. My wife and I both have had very close calls. Next, the German 2.0 turbocharged engine in this 2016. (they improved this in the 2017's) This car needs premium fuel! Even though the HP is fine on a flat road or highway, you will find this to always works hard on big hills. This is problem that cannot be overcome. Also the mileage with a full load will also give you poor range with the size of the tank. This really is just designed mostly for around town car. It's tall and narrow and in a strong wind you will find it hard to maintain the lane. We have almost stopped driving this but to town and local areas. I would go for a newer year if staying with the Escape. Happy Driving!

It's a great small SUV
For me this is one of the nicer looking small SUVs out there. This one has leather interior four-wheel drive and it has the 2 L 240 horsepower engine so it's quite zippy. The interior is well laid out I'm very comfortable. There's plenty of adjustment in the electric seats that also have lumbar support. The quietness of my Escape rivals the Lincoln MKS that was traded for it and the Escape's Sony stereo in my opinion sounds better the THX stereo in the MKS. About the only thing that bothers me about it is the new my Ford touch. I had two cars a 2012 Focus and the 2013 MKS which has the older Microsoft version and I prefer that one to this new one. There is one other caveat. The 2L Turbo is no gas mileage champ. It's okay but there are others in this segment that get better gas mileage but they don't have the power this one does. I towed that Uhaul trailer with an almost 800-pound motorcycle in it and it had no trouble maintaining 70 miles an hour on the interstate. It got right at 17 mpg pulling the motorcycle. My best tank so far is 25.4 mpg in mixed driving. I think you would be lucky to get 30 mpg in Interstate driving with the 2 liter motor.

Great car with bad transmission
I bought the Ford Escape Titanium 7 months ago with 81000 miles on it. By the time I hit 84000 in 7 months the transmission went out. The car is nice and roomy and great for loading it up with stuff. The radio/navigation/back up camera is great. It can be a little bouncy and noisy during the ride. Acceleration is pretty good for a 4 cyl. I only hope it holds out for 5 more years.

Engine shuts off on hwy at random.
Taking to the dealer to get resolved multiple times they say it's fixed and end up giving the vehicle back, shuts down multiple times on the highway.Almost causing multiple life threatening accidents.
