Great SUV
This was my first ford vehicle and probably will not be my last. I got the 2012 model because of the big changes for the 2013 crossover model. The escape provides a nice ride and great handling. I feel very safe driving in poor weather conditions. The interior design is great and provides great visibility. But, I recommend the V6 model for the best driving experience.
A solid value
Leased the 4-cyl Escape and took a 1500 mile trip. The four cylinder is adequate. Passing power on the highway was pretty good. The only problem would be long steep grades. The 6 speed auto shifted smoothly. It didn't hesitate to downshift when needed. The engine only turns over 1700 RPM at 60 MPH. The first leg of the trip was mostly interstate with about 100 miles of Ozark hills and twisties at the end. I have an easy foot and averaged 30MPG going and 28MPG returning against a 20mph head wind, lightly loaded. This is a great around town vehicle. I wouldn't want to take on the Rockies, though.

The only SUV for me
I absolutely love my Ford Escape it is my second one I upgraded which is why I'm on my second I Love This SUV very much I'm only 5'2 so for me this SUV is perfect in the fact that I can get in and out of it I can use all compartments perfectly and I don't have to be jumping I have plenty of room the seat goes up for me I moved from Colorado to Texas with a trailer on the back of this SUV and it did wonderful it gets great gas mileage when you accelerate of course because it's a 4-cylinder it's not going to go 0 to 60 in a few seconds it takes a little longer but that's where you get better gas mileage by having a smaller sized engine it's great for commuting great for going to the mountains great for just about everything I would recommend this car I didn't fact I have my best friend has the same vehicle but in red and she loves it I hope everyone reading this review will purchase one and loved it just as much as I - Vanessa Alvarez-Sellon

Wouldn't have it any other way
I actually built this from the ground up. There wasn't an option in this review, but I opted for the larger 6 cylinder. Having owned this from day one, I now have 151,000 miles on it. I keep up on the regular oil changes and upkeep. Haven't had a problem with this vehicle from day one and I'm not the easiest on vehicles. I buy them to drive them. So far as yet, there hasn't been a major repair. As one who loves to travel, this little baby has taken me to Florida at least 5 times, GA, Chicago, St. Louis a couple times, you get the idea. I love it and wish they had kept the 2012 body type.
