Just RAM it!
My first dodge and its an 05 ram HEMI 4x4 quad cab w/20's. The power is awesome. Got this ram with 59k miles and now have 111000. It has been flawless. It has taken me anywhere I have wanted to go. I have traveled and slept in it many times so it is very comfortable. Was moving from Tx to Az with a camper shell. So I packed it out as much as would fit. Put my wifes 4000 pound car on a tow dolly and packed it out .. I still did 75 mph and sometimes 80. It runs and idles so smooth you'd think it was brand new! Even w/o dual exhaust it still roars when you get on it. And its quiet when you don't.
Great versatile truck with 4.7L
I purchased a used quad cab with the 4.7 L and the 5 speed auto. It had the 20" wheels, which the dealer traded out for me to the chrome 16's. Dynamite combo; this gives you the 4.7 L with 3.9 gears and standard wheels which == good towing (7k), good power and good mileage (16-18 HWY). I've towed tractors, horses and building materials for 3 years with no repairs. Better truck than any ford I've ever had.

2005 Dodge Ram 1500, 5.7 liter Hemi Quad Cab, SLT
I bought this truck new and have never regretted it. I like it very much. The ride is very comfortable and the dash board controls are easy to understand and easy to reach while driving.
Can't be beat
I drove Chevy trucks for years. When I test drove the Ram I realized what a truck should be. The Hemi is by far the best aspect of the truck but the fit and finish is solid also. Anyone driving a Ford or Chevy should take a Ram Hemi for a drive and feel what a real truck feels like.
one issue in one year not too bad
i have owned my reg cab 4.7l 4x4 automatic truck since january and truck has far exceeded my expectations, i have always owned chevy and last two let me down so i figured i would give dodge a chance. i bought it with 60,000 and have put 25000 miles on so far only issue i ran into was both front wheel bearings went on me and they are not the easiest to fix, have heard this is an issue with these at that mileage. other than that truck has been awesome. has descent gas mileage for what it is and has sufficient power i would buy it again in a heartbeat
Grandma-na-viper
I have owned this truck for 10 years... all I can say is "HOLD ON". Not a good idea to "hot dog" in the rain, the rear end is so light it could get away from ya.. but on dry flat surface... good bye! Still handles like a dream at 11yrs old. Interior still like new. Exterior paint didn't last more than a few years.

Muscle Truck
I bought the truck 2 months ago and cannot believe that I used to to think my Vortec 454 Chevy was powerful. This truck is awesome to say the least. The V10, 22" wheels, 500 watt stereo, stainless steel trim package are all great. Some owners complain about the mileage, I didn't buy the SRT because it was fuel efficient I bought it because it was fun. I am 40 years old and the truck is one of the fastest vehicles I have ever driven and the fastest I have ever owned. Nice job Dodge!
bad ass srt
Great truck! Loads of SMOOTH power, Hemi eater, Volant air box, magna flows. have all oem parts available with truck. garaged and babied, shines excellent, interior brand new looking. Note to owners out there, these trucks have wild rear end steer, tighten U bolts with big bar it will improve and tame your beast a lot!

God I love This Truck
Well, If you're looking for fuel efficiency, don't buy it. If you're looking to crush sports cars, Lightnings, C600's, this is the truck for you. I've even beat a few SRT8's, almost all SRT4's, and ticked off a few Vettes while it was still stock. What's really fun is when you hit it, and put everyones head in the back of the seat! I for sure bought the right truck for fun.
Very reliable buy
I bought this truck brand new in 2005 and have since put a little over 80,000 miles on it. I have never had any problems with the truck, did basic maintenance and she has been extremely reliable to me. I put a flowmaster muffler and a ram air intake and it increased the mpg buy a little also gave that v6 a nice v8 sound.
Ram SRT10 is a BLAST!
This truck is so much fun! The engine is incredible, the shifts are fairly short considering the length of the lever. Stereo is pretty good, the sub will make the rear view mirror a little tough to see on the heavy bass - worth it to enjoy the good vibrations. So far gas mileage has been pretty good, much better than expected. Handling has also been very positive as have the very comfortable and supportive seats. Hope the quality holds up, so far so good.
Never again!
I Bought this truck because I had heard good things about the new Dodge trucks in 2005. I have regretted it. Problems include: EGR valve, rough idle (fuel filter is attached to the fuel pump, replacement of one means replacement of both) the adjustable driver's seat track has broken five times in 39,000 miles. When the seat track breaks the seat freely travels back and forth upon acceleration or braking (dangerous and painful). Dodge has told me that they do not care. Their very high up management has told me that the safety of one person is not that important to them since there have not been many other complaints. Never again will I buy a Dodge. They do not believe in their product.
'04 5.7L Hemi Rumble Bee
Just bought the truck on the 1st of the month, and have only driven about 1000 miles, but I love this truck... I traded in an '02 Chevy Avalanche and couldn't be happier with the trade. I was originally looking for a 2dr, sb Hemi but when I saw the $2600 Solar Yellow Rumble Bee option package (see dodge.com for a description as Edmunds makes no mention of this limited edition) with the dealer installed custom leather seats, I fell in love with it... I have always been a fan of yellow and when I took it for the test drive, the off the line acceleration, tons of power across the powerband and deep throaty exhaust note had me hooked!
Dodge Ram 1500 Daytona Limited Hemi
I have never owned a pickup truck or actually have a need for a truck- however when i saw the limited edition Ram 1500 Daytona Edition in bright orange at a dealer... I left my Cadillac CTS-V and drove off with this great truck, By far my favorite auto ever owned. The power and handling are supurb, build quality is superior and who can't love that sound of the Hemi engine leaving corvettes at the stop light (in my dust!) The dealer installed extra's helped save me from going out and "pinping my ride"- the truck stops people in thier tracks when they see it. I am converted now, Dodge trucks from here on out. Looks like no other truck on the road. Dwarfs all the lame Chevy and Ford trucks.
I would marry this truck!
I absolutly love this truck. The looks you get, the power it has. This truck will put you back in your seat! I don't think I will ever sell it. I got the black one and it looks really sharp, but hard to keep clean. That is the only thing I would change.
My Ram
I own a 2005 Dodge Ram with a 3.7 V6 with an automatic transmission. I have 61,000 miles and there is absolutely nothing wrong with my truck, well except for the factory cd player which only takes a few of my cd's and spits the rest out. I wish I could have gotten a quad cab with a V8 but I got a good deal on this one. I was skeptical about the small V6 but it is plenty capable of getting around. I have driven the V8's and the power difference is noticeable but all I really care about is reliability. The ride is a bit more lively due to the short WB but it feels solid. The brakes are outstanding. The Ram is the best Truck nowadays and if you're considering one, trust me- V8 is a must!!
Pure Fun
What can I say that has not already been said? It is pure fun and excitment to drive, and it sure makes heads turn when you drive by. I had to get used to how well this "truck" handles. It bounced me around because the response is so fast and exact. I love it and don't plan on replacing it any time soon.
The Beast
I went looking for a high performance truck from the start. One test drive and I had to have this beast. Don't give a darn about gas mileage. I get about 12mpg in the city and 16mpg on the road. Added a Volant cool air system which makes the engine compartment even better looking. I've had so many people just want to stop me and look at the engine. Plan on adding a supercharger when my extended warranty runs out. Lambo doors in a few weeks for looks.
One Great Truck
Extremely fun to drive. Very comfortable interior. Looks great inside and out. Lots of positive comments.
Hemi Sweet!
This is the first pickup that I have ever owned, and it is AMAZING. Lots of power, comfortable ride (for a truck), and a blast to drive. My '05 Ram has the Daytona package (silver), and it constantly turns heads. Semi drivers on the highway turn to look at it then realize it's a girl driving it! Haven't used four-wheel drive much, but it did get me to work in a snowstorm without skipping a beat. Limited slip hooks up quickly, and it has been known to go sideways on wet pavement, but that is part of the fun. I love this truck!
Ram SRT-10
When I saw my Ram SRT I fell in love with the way it looked. It looks like it is flying when it is just sitting still. The front of the truck is unlike any other truck out there, being styled very aggressive looking and shouting get out of my way. The interior is actually very comfortable and stylish. The performance of the truck is the main reason I had to have it. The Viper drivetrain is the heart of the truck which makes it a beast. I have driven the truck on small trips to visit family which is 130 miles round trip. The speed limit is 55 mph the entire trip. The truck has averaged 16.5 to 17.8 mpg at a constant speed of 62 mph in 6th gear at 1400 rpm several times. Highway miles only!
Mighty Ram!
I have had the truck for about 8 months now, and I really love it. I have the 3.7 V6 with the automatic transmission, and it gets a solid 20 mpg! I love the looks of the truck, and I think it is a very solid vehicle. I would buy another one tomorrow! They only hauling I do with it, is my quad. I dont do any towing. if you were going to use the truck for towing, I would recommend the 4.7 V8. Other than that, get the V6 and save some dough! Great truck!
Big and Nice
Bought because of the dealer price break. Sticker price 21,800 price paid 15,500. Nice after putting work into truck, new rims, new hood, droped the back. The qulity of the bed doesn't seem that great put a dent in the bed with a smaller bass amp.
There are others out there...
It's a nice looking truck, but extremely poorly detailed truck. As I drove off the lot, there were problems! Visor clip fell off. Front torsion bars needed to be replaced (with 500 miles on it). The radiator cap lost its seal, all fluid drained. I was told it "must have been a defective part". Door moulding is falling off. Truck has two shades of paint on it from front doors to rear doors. I have had it aligned three times and it still pulls to the right. Dinged the rear bumper, found it to be made from aluminum foil - or pretty close. I suggest you test drive one as well as a Chevy and a Ford.
Thank God for Extended Warranty
The specs: 4.7 magnum, auto, rwd, quad cab, sb. Have had the truck for 5 weeks. Truck has been in shop for 11 days. Work completed: head gaskets (2), timing chain, radiator replaced and water pump. Have had the truck back for a week and the check engine light is now on. On the up side the truck gets 16 mpg mixed driving, rides fairly well and looks good.
For my wife !!!
My wife had a 4 dr truck she loved. She drove it tell it started falling apart. Her dream car is a Viper so I bought her the best of both. A 4 dr srt-10 Viper she loves the truck and I rarely get to drive this one. It has excellent acceleration and braking to match great combo for a truck and fun to drive.

i wish....
CONS-Poor build quality for the 3.7L, The bearings are Aluminum :( -also the gauges are practically dummy gauges, oil pressure gauge reads "normal", even if low pressure is going on. Very disappointed to find "spun" AL bearings, when the oil gauge read normal, >>"Each time the cluster receives a message from the PCM or ECM indicating the engine oil pressure is about 6 psi (very low) or lower, the check gauges indicator will be illuminated.", otherwise reads "normal" = your engine might already be already destroyed, (mine 100k), the 3.7 rebuild is almost as expensive as a Hemi & about 1000$ more than 4.7 ect. Very disappointed to find oil sludging was an issue with the vehicle as well.
Daily Driver
I use the truck as daily driver find the truck easy live with do to the engines low end torque and comfy seats. Owned a SVT Lightning before the SRT. The SRT's more rigid frame gives more precise handling. The brakes equal my EVO VIII in feel and stopping power. MPG is accptable at 14 combined highway and city.
Impressed with Dodge
My first Dodge got off to a poor start. On the third day of ownership I noticed a large puddle of oil under the truck. After having to wait a couple of days to get the truck in for service a hole was found in the front wheel differential (4x4). I was given a free loaner and 8 days later I got my new truck back. It has been trouble free since. The 5.7 Hemi makes good power and sounds great (and no complaints on mileage), nice shifting 5 speed automatic, comfortable automobile like ride, rock solid build quality and plenty of well thought out in cabin storage. It beats my previous Chevy and Ford trucks hands down, Im sold!
Ford man who bought a Hemi
My experience from my Dodge has been great. My dodge gets more looks and comments from more people then a supermodel. The engine "Hemi of course" has plenty of power to get you 0-60 in quick time but I recommend the optional 34 Gallon fuel tank because the MPG sucks at my average of 11.4. Cruzing at 55-60 miles per hour without stopping I get great milage. Seats are very comfortible in both front and rear. 20" wheels and Tires pick up every nail and screw it can find but looks great on the truck. Exterior nerf Steps made the wife to be like the truck better and we both wish we upgraded the stero system to the Infinity 11 Speakers system. Road noise and ride is very much Average.
station to station but fun in between
my first experience with this truck was, Thats it? I guess i was thinking it will handle like a porshe, but who was i kidding. This is a heavy, jaw dropping ass whoopin truck. Built for one thing. Acceleration and crazy burnouts.
Pure Power
Awesome Truck... Demands attention everywhere it goes. People of all ages seem to enjoy the looks of this truck.
DODGE RAM 1500
THE TRUCK IS GREAT LOOKING. MORE THOUGHT COULD HAVE BEEN PUT INTO INTERIOR DESIGN. THE RIDE IS HARSH TO SAY THE LEAST. I HAVE A VIBRATION IN THE DRIVETRAIN OR SUSPENSION THAT THE DEALER REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEGE. THE HEMI ENGINE HAS AN ANNOYING TICKING SOUND THAT THE DEALER SAYS IS "NORMAL." THE DRIVER'S SEAT SHIFTS WHEN TAKING OFF FROM A STOP-STILL NOT FIXED. ENGINE AND TRANS ARE A GOOD MATCH AND FEEL STRONG.
Love the Hemi
My Dodge is a very good-looking and strong running truck. love the Hmi, but the 5 speed auto leaves much to be desired! I smell a new trannyin this one before it' over. I have already had it reprogrammed at 5000 miles and it still isn' right. If Dodge would fix their transmission issues, they would sell many more of these hotrods!
BANG FOR THE BUCK
My dad bought me my grey dodge ram with hemi and laramie, its beautiful. i've raced the new chevy v8 vortec and beat it without skipping a beat. the hemi just kills anything, i have used it for hauling my dirtbikes and driven it super rough cuz im a teenager. gas mileage is decent but i wouldnt trade it for the power. when we bought the truck we were suppose to get free lifetime oil changes then the dealership went out of business.
1 MPG per Cylinder
What a fun truck. It is without a doubt the baddest truck ever built. My biggest complaint is when people ask me how I like that Hemi engine. Maybe if the "viper powered" decal was bigger that wouldn't happen. Brakes are the best of any car, let alone truck out there. handling is great, for a truck. Ride is stiff, but not bad. I'd rather tow with my diesel Ram, so I do. The SRT is just for hauling around town. 0-60 is good, 0-120 is great, 70- 120, not so good, but it is a heavy brick wall to move through the air at those speeds. Buy one and step up, this is the only truck a true "car-guy" can drive.
Worth every penny
This truck is awesome! I own a 1969 Plymouth GTX with a 4spd and 440-6pac engine and this truck brings all that power and fun back...AND MORE! 500HP and A/C? You cant beat that. I would stay away from the new 4 door version. This truck is a head turner and a magnet for anyone that appreciates a true factory performance vehicle. I was getting food at the local fast food joint and some kid who worked at the jiffy lube across the street ran down just to get a picture of it so he could tell he friends that he actually saw a REAL SRT-10 Ram in person! When did that ever happen to you in any of your cars? If you dont mind replacing a tire for $350 a piece, this truck is for you!
Love it BUT!!
Love this truck. Handling, take off and comfort. I installed a K&N cold air filter and Flow Master Duel muffler-neither helped my gas mileage. The 5 speed auto transmission won't go into over drive until you get above 58 mph-dealer says not enough torque. So I get about 11.5 mpg city and 15.5 highway it came with 17" rims not 20"--BUT I DO LOVE THIS TRUCK. It's fun to drive and the grand kids love to ride in it. Just wish the MPG was better and Trans shifted smoother. But I plan to keep it.
My new to me Ram 1500
I wanted to get back into a truck, so I started researching different trucks online. I've had 3 Ford's, 2 Chevy's, 2 Jeep's and 1 Nissan Frontier. I'm really a Ford guy, but their gas mileage stinks! Dodge's popped up and I saw that they get better gas mileage than my Grand Cherokee. I've had my '05 1500 for a week now and I love it. I got the Hemi and the gas mileage is actually pretty good. My Dad is a Die-hard Ford guy and just bought a brand new F150 and now wants to trade it in for a Ram because he likes mine so much. I test drove a few 4.7L Ram's and if you really are looking for the best gas mileage out of any trucks, that's the one to get. It's not the same as the Hemi, but it'll go!
Oregon viper
I bought my 05 Viper SRT 10 in Tucson AZ. When I first seen it I knew I had to have it. It is white with blue stripes that goes from the front to the rear of the vehicle. 2 dr with all the bells and whistles of course 6 speed. I'm running on 22" like any true player would. My truck is 99 out of 200 made that year. I was told that this might possibly be a collectors item. I presently have 6000 miles on it, shall I sell or keep?!
Good truck
This is my third dodge truck I have had great dealer support 4.7 engine is reliable but could use a better torque curve

Real world review, no bias
Do not purchase this truck, they die at 62,000 miles. Bought mine new in 2006, maintained a perfect service record, and I was rewarded with nine trips to the dealership over the years for different issues. I am not a "brand" guy and this has no impact on my review, but in the interest of full disclosure I will never by another Daimler Chrysler product again. The dealer service is poor and was nearly a victim of consumer fraud at College Station Lithia Dodge.
Finally i got one
Just got my 05 Quad Cab SLT 4x4 Molten Red after many months of looking and comparing the Ram to the Titan. I decided on the Ram because of the price. The power is nice and it is quieter inside than the Titan. I also like the extra length in the bed. Overall it is very comfortable.
Excellent
I have the 4 dr, short bed with a Hemi engine in it and it is great. Good gas mileage and great performance. Have had no problems with it whatsoever. I've had a Ford and Chevy and nothing can compare. I love it a lot and would recommend it not only for its power, but for its comfort and maneuverability. Great! Great! Great!
My Ride
I am 6'4" tall and need the extra room. This truck fits the larger driver with ample leg and head room. From the first test drive to the last drive home, you have a feeling of riding in your easy chair. Plenty of power with the HEMI V8 engine. Shift down into passing gear and just listen to the roar of power. I love the full 8' bed. It really adds to a great ride with the longer wheel base, and of course makes hauling easier too. The ease of going from 2 to 4 wheel drive is like turning on the radio. With the 6 disc CD player and infinity sound system it's like a concert in your truck. I love the back seat under storage area for keeping things handy yet out of sight. I recomend this one!
love my new dodge
leased a new gmc 4x4 truck every 2 years since 1998 all loaded with every option, panicked when gas prices went up and got a g-6 (junk). gm would not help me out of a bad deal so took the loss and purchased 2005 dodge Laramie 4x4 4 door loaded to the max moonroof the works, black cherry 20 " wheels you name it. hemi all the toys. i will no longer go to a gm truck this thing rocks
Noisy ride.
I've noticed that on a windy day you must turn up the radio to block out the outside noise. I'm always checking the doors to see if they are closed tight. It seems like the manufacturer forgot to complete the rubber seal on the doors, although the seals all seem to be attached. I've noticed when the cruise control is on the speed fluxuates sometimes ten to twenty miles an hour on uneven roadways. I've also noticed a slipping or some unexplained shift problem between second and third gear while the transmission upshifts during acceleration.
Love my RAM Quad
Very nice truck, this is the second Dodge truck that I have purchased new and I doubt that it will be the last. We love the Atlantic pearl blue color and the body styling. The standard V8 has plenty of power and don't seem to be too bad on gas.
The Big Dog
An absolute pleasure to own. The fuel economy is about the only negative to this truck, and for the power that engine packs, it's well worth it. Plenty of power, plenty of space, and the instrument cluster is the cleanest looking of any vehicle I have ever had. Switching to 4WD is a snap. The towing capacity is more than adequate, and the ride is firm, but comfortable. I have never regretted buying this truck, it is a fantastic buy.
Hemi, Hemi, Hemi
The 5.7 Hemi is the best thing that ever happened to a pickup. It gives a real boost when you are wanting to get from here to there right now. 4door quadcad, although not quite as spacious as the Ford F150 crew cab, is still plenty roomy for most folks, and the optional flat floor provision makes secure dry storage (for groceries and such) very handy. A recent road trip delivered outstanding mileage, with the trip computer recording 21mpg(!) at one point across Kansas. My truck is a 2005 Ram 1500 SLT quadcab with 2wd and towing package. I like this truck.
