worst car ever made from dodge
Just recently we took a camping trip and the road going up the mountain was a paved road but it was high elevation so steep hills the car barley made it up the mountain my sisters little car made it up better then this pile, then got home my wife was driving the car with three kids in the car all younger then 9 years old and she turned to go in our housing development and the car completely shut off giving her no brakes no engine nothing and she almost went in the wall. My car barely has 13 k miles on it and its 2 years old so in good shape we took it to the dealership they said there was a hidden code. I said ok thats fine fix it and they said we will have to take it home my wife was so scared she was shaking she never thought she would get back in the car and they said they cant do anything for us well i have a 2 year son and she doesn't want to put him back in there so we were looking to trade it even for a older car they said we would be up side down about 8k on the car i said wait you guys wont give us a brake for you car being a pile they said no so here we are with a pile car and im putting this out there to never buy this car or dont go to Towbin DODGE to have maintenance or to buy a car you will regret it like no other biggest mistake i have ever made in my life.

check it out for yourself...a pleasant surprise
We went into 3-row crossover shopping with the Journey not on the list, and ended up liking it so much we special ordered! We test drove the Hyundai Santa Fe, Buick Enclave, Mazda Cx9, and Nissan Pathfinder, but we really liked the packaging of the Journey a lot better. We got a Crossroad model, FWD, with the V6, and I would recommend it. What sold us on the Journey was simply how much better the interior was packaged for us. It's got plenty of room without being as big as some others. The seats are very comfortable and there is storage everywhere. Plus, we got the integrated booster seats, and they are so well-designed it is amazing to me they aren't available on other SUVs. UPDATE - two years in and we are happy. We did have a vexing problem of the AC leaking coolant that required three dealer trips for a fix, but to the dealer's credit, they covered a rental for the second and third visits, got help from FCA to figure it out, and got it licked. Otherwise the Journey has been trouble-free, and the built-in booster seat is not in use and it is a godsend!

Still better than what the reviews say..
I was reading the Expert review on the Dodge Journey and on one of the Con's it said "Below-average fuel economy regardless of engine". I think the "expert reviewer" never drove the V6 engine long enough. Mind you I traded my 4-cylinder 5-seater small SUV from a Japanese car brand which had 140HP and it was giving me 15-17MPG! I was like driving a V8 truck with that MPG with far less horses in the engine. When I had this Dodge Journey SXT V6 it was the most quiet SUV I had. My older car was like a monster truck inside. The trim is very nice compared to RAV4, CRV, Subaru, and Mazda! The sides of interior doors are not hard plastic it is wrapped in leather like trim which I've only seen in my brother's Lexus RX. I actually went one time to do test drive a few cars and while I was driving a top of the line Subaru Foreseter I was saying to myself my Journey is a lot better than this very expensive car. The space is just enough for 5 and 7 for some occassions. I have had 2 5'10" ride in the third row and they were sitting fine. And while having 7 adults does not lag this car at all. The 283HP penta is really nice on the Journey, it is actually the same engine to Dodge Charger V6. To me, the Dodge Journey is still the best value for the money 7 seater SUV. I hope they update it in 2018.

Don't break down 800 miles from home!
Was a wonderful auto for 2 years then we stalled 1100 miles from home. The car would sputter a couple times and just die, after sitting a couple hours the auto would start (The first two times there was no computer codes) Then we broke down 800 miles from home and then 700 miles from home. (Same trip) went to a dealer after a whole day they said it was fixed, on our way on the freeway during rush hour 100 miles later broke down again. Took it to a second Dealer after another day they said that it could be a verity of things costing $1500 BUT they could not say for sure if it would fix it. ..... Ended up trading it in on a new Jeep ... They only gave us $7000 on trade (Boy did they ever burn us!) Other than this problem when we were on the road we loved it!

Great Vehicle! Good Price!
The only issue I had with my 2015 was the air and heat would turn on by itself and everytime I turned it off it would pop back on. I loved this car so much My son crashed my car and now I have a 2017. Kind of surprised very little upgrades though but I still love my Journey!
