Used 2003 Dodge Durango SXT 4WD 4dr SUV (4.7L 8cyl 5A) Consumer Reviews
2003 Dodge Durango--First 1000 miles
This Durango XST is my first SUV and followed driving a Toyota Avalon for the last three years. So far, I'm delighted with the car. It handles well, is quiet, and fun to drive. On our first distance trip, I drove for about 200 miles without stopping or getting out of the car; my ability to ambulate upon getting out was better than I've had with other vehicles. The transmission has performed very smoothly shifting down and up with scarcely noticeable change except on the tachometer. The instrument panel seems well laid out and is easy to understand. Exterior styling with the wheel well shields and running board are very pleasing.
AOK after 10 months
Chose this vehicle after having Cherokee. Durango, is a larger more comfortable vehicle. And yes, the mileage is lower but the engine is bigger, so that is to be expected. I find the Durango to be reliable, and very comfortable, especially in the price range, my passangers always make a comment of liking it.

Nice Ride for a Permit Driver
Weve had our Durango for 4 yrs. Its great, though the water pump was damaged by a rock causeing the engine to overheat way too much and blow. Other than that this is one damn fine truck.
Great SUV
I Love this truck ,we got a great deal from the dealer ,who was fantastic. I did shop around .We looked at Explorers , those new Chevys and a toyota. We test drove them all, they came with 6 cyl. engines and they were a little more expensive then the Dodge. They just did not have the get up and go and bland styling save the chevy which has a unique if not ugly look. The Durango has the best Base power, excellent room and great styling.
2003 Dodge Durango SXT 4x4 4.7L
I have a SXT model with the small 4.7 v8 and was getting around 18-19mpg hwy, till I installed a magnaflow powerpack muffler and a cold air intake. Now I'm getting around 380-400 miles to a tank full of 24 gals. That's strictly highway though. But when you kick down into passing gear you can feel a huge difference in power and almost watch the fuel needle go down. 0-60/6.1sec--1/4mile/15.42. 3.55axle 265/70x16 tires. Can't wait to see what happens when I put headers on and tune it. Love that 4.7!
