Death Trap
The 2.4L engine is a oil consuming death trap. No new car should burn almost 5 quarts of oil. Apparently if your oil get too low the car will shut completely down. Doesn't matter if you are going down the road at 70mph or at a stop sign. Then it can take up to 10 plus minutes to restart. Do your research on this piece of crap before buying.

2 yr old car has emission/transmission problems.
Read reviews!! Do not purchase at AutoNation Dodge in Valencia. They are too busy to properly service the vehicles. A 2 year old new car should not have issues.

Good for a while
I’ve had this car for 6 years now. Has 86000 miles and I use it as my daily driver. I’ve had no issues with it until about 4 months ago. The car started stalling in the middle of the road. I changed my battery and my alternator only to find out my oil was low and that’s why my car was stalling. Now it’s electrical issue one after the other. My dash lights flicker. The radio turns on and off and the power steering goes in and out. This is only the most recent issue after fixing a issue with the fuse box and with the air conditioning controls. After talking with several people they have all mentioned the same issues with their dodge darts.

Got a lot out of it
I bought by 15 Dart 4 years ago with 36k on it. I am a delivery driver, and the car had 175k on it when I decided to get a new car. Same engine, same transmission. A lot of stop and go city traffic, as well as highway miles from delivering. Thing was an absolute tank. I may have gotten lucky, who knows? Two things - lots of electrical issues. Radio won't work most times (the entire console won't even turn on). That happened at about 120k miles. Dealership had no ideas on how to fix if. It also tells me the parking light is out, at least once a week. But there's nothing out, I've checked. The other thing is the oil issue that other people have complained about. It's very true. Take it from someone who had at least 20+ oil changes into the car- it will absolutely stall if the oil is low. A huge issue if you're blocking traffic. It's extremely annoying. Also- the car is low to the ground. I scraped constantly. That got annoying fast. Overall, loved the car dearly. Mechanically, a beast. However, I am looking forward to having a radio that works again.
