CPA's report on car-
Bought car at 30,000 mis., now nearly at 100,000 mis. Overall, a good car. One of the best looking big cars ever. Good looking interior, too. I've had a number of repairs over the 5 years I've owned the car, but nothing big - speed sensor, power window gears, cooling fan motors. The paint is still in good shape. I read about transmission problems on these cars, but are they using the right fluid? I've never had any trans. problems, but I've used the right fluid and had the fluid changed at recommended service intervals. My only remaining question: can I get it up to 200,000 miles?
Owning has been an excellent experience.
A great looking car, handles superbly on long trips. Has the lowest driving-associated fatigue of any I've owned. Interior and trunk space are incredible. Fully loaded gets ~30 mpg on trips. Has been very reliable so far (75000 miles). Problems- Transmission sensor replaced under warranty, Developed window sticking, solved by cycling up and down weekly to keep them unstuck. This is the only design/engineering flaw that has disappointed me. Getting Michelins as replacement tires has improved road noise. Having driven a lot of rental cars, by comparison, I cannot understand why this car is not rated higher. Plan to keep 10 years.

Engine Failure
Oh my God! Don't be fooled by the looks of this car. Changed my oil every 3,000 miles. Was going to work yesterday and it had to be towed. Mechanic said it needed a new engine!! Looked on the internet. Very common with this car. Now a have a 1999 Concorde worth nothing. I'll have to pay to have it taken away!!! Please check the internet.
Good Car
Bought this car used with only 30K and it has been great. The gas mileage is the best. Not much power but I can get 340 miles before the low fuel light comes on. Great when gas prices go up and down. Has the smaller 2.7 liter but Ice cold A/C. OH, and the trunk space is even better. I hope this car can last me. No complaints here.
Keep breaking down
I purchased my car on January 1 2001. I had a bad wheel alignment when i bought the car. The right wheel bearing let go about 1 month after. A few months later i was backing out of my driveway and the reverse let go, no reverse. Lucky I had a warranty. A garage rebuilt the transmission and it cost about $2300. Three years later the transmission let go but now the drive gear, back to the garage i go. They said that they had to rebuild it again another $2300, but i said forget it. Then the right and left power widows let go. The muffler had a small leak and that was $800 dollars because it's a one piece stainless steel. I traded it for a new car, its worth $50 bucks now. scrap.
