Used 2010 Chevrolet Impala LTZ 4dr Sedan (3.9L 6cyl 4A) Consumer Reviews
I used to like this car but now I don’t
I got this car in august of 2020 with 98k miles on it, ltz trim level I have a issue with the way it drives and performance, my first issue is vibrating idle goes away when air conditioner turned on. Replaced. Plugs wires and coils. Replaced map and maf sensors and all the other maintenance that’s needed. Still no difference, I have had 8 different mechanics look into it and they can’t figure it out. And the money light refuses to turn on Second issue is the transmission, when taking off after sitting at a stoplight for 5 minutes. The car will accelerate and then slam as if I was just rear ended. Took it to my local transmission shop and they don’t know what’s causing that issue because the computer isn’t showing anything. So now I am forced to wait until the transmission breaks completely for them to I mount it and look inside of it. It’s ridiculous. I shouldn’t have to feel like I’m being rear ended every other stop light. I honestly hope this car breaks down so I can address the issues. And that’s sad to wish that. Oil leaks are very common in this car and especially engine. Every gasket has been replaced except rear main seal. This car feels sluggish despite it being a 6 cylinder. The road noise is pretty noticeable on the highway. I have to turn my radio half way up to drown out the sounds. I like that it has tons of room especially inside the trunk The blind spots take a little bit to get adjusted and the side view mirrors are pretty small. Overall I’m happy with my car somewhat. It’s not even the vibrating idle because I usually have my air conditioning running anyways. It’s my transmission. The 4T65E are completely junk I wish gm gave them a more durable build Other than that. Decent gas mileage especially on highway and the seats are pretty comfy

Hope all the LTZ's weren't built this badly!
I had one that had to be built on a Monday; horrible amount of repairs made to it. June 2018: Sold it. Bought a sweet 2015 Mercedes Benz C300 4-matic with 31,000 miles.....huge quality difference. Won't go back to GM.

Expensive manufacture defect maintenance
Expensive maintenance due to manufacture defects not covered under warranty. Transmission failure at 94,000 miles. Worn engine oil intake gaskets and valve seals at 50,000 miles. Brakes and rotors/drums rust and wear out fast. Climate system actuators fail at 80,000 miles. Air bag harnesses needs rewired and wires gets smashed under seat. Drivers side seat belt receptacle broke. Safety features are not covered under lifetime warranty. Passenger air filter compartment is on the outside of the car and water can leak inside the passenger side dash and get into the fuse box and corrode wires. It’s a great car if you keep up on the maintenance.
