Used 2011 Chevrolet Equinox LT1 4dr SUV (2.4L 4cyl 6A) Consumer Reviews
Chevrolet Equinox
Chevrolet was sued for oil consumption in a class action suit because their Equinox from 2010-2013 had a serious flaw. Our Equinox uses 10 quarts in 4000 miles. The suit was settled and it managed to screw us over because for a 2011 the deadline to fix was 7 yrs 6 months and we bought the vehicle at 7 years and 10 months. So we now are suppose to put $4000 into a vehicle that isn't even worth $5000 and we have owned for 14 months. Chevrolet will NOT stand behind their product and they knew for how many years that this was a major engine defect and had to be sued to do anything at all. Also the Home Run Auto Group sold a vehicle without fixing it knowing there was this problem. My opinion buy a Ford. Ford stands behind their products.

Engine noise at start up
Noticed loud rattle upon start up. Sounds like valve lifters getting no oil for a few seconds. Had 4000 miles on car, took to Chevy dealer, he recommended changing break in oil and kept car overnight to listen to noise. Said he heard noise, but put otherwise on invoice??? If Equinox keeps this up now at 6000 miles I will start to battle with the folks on the complaint line. I previously had a Chevy Colorado of which 2 cylinder heads had to be replaced(factory defect) which they would not admit to, so this is how GM is.

2011 Chevy Equinox: A review
In December of 2009 I bought my wife an '08 Trailblazer. It was awesome. It was perfect for vacations (we go camping alot in the Adirondacks) it could pull a boat, and was a beast in the snow. In March of 2011, my wife would not stop complaining about gas mileage of the Trailblazer, thus we traded it in for a 2011 Equinox.
poor MPG
NOT 32 MPG. at best with the wind at our back we got 29 mpg. not impressed at all. i put 500 miles on mine and have had it four days. my average is about 24 mpg, if i would have know that i prob would not have bought it.
Disappointed
Less than 2 weeks ago I purchased the 2011 Equinox. The ONLY reason I traded evhicles was for better gas mileage. The "sticker" said the Equinox would get 22mpg city and 32mpg highway, DO NOT BELIEVE IT! Now I have been told by Chevy Corp. that it will take at least 3000 miles before one could Possibly see that kind of mileage. But, understand, you are not tole that up-front. Buying the Equinox in one of the worst decisions I have ever made. I will not encourage anyone to buy a Chevy productt ever again. I am totally disgusted and disappointed. Whatever hapen to "truth" in advertising. No wonder dealerships have such a bad reputation.
