Used 2005 Chevrolet Classic Fleet 4dr Sedan (2.2L 4cyl 4A) Consumer Reviews
Do not buy this car
I had a malibu for 5 months, put new headlights, brakes, rotors, battery, tires and fixed the damaged exterior. All for the engine to fail not soon after at 150,000 miles. Good on gas, but did not do well on inclines. Very cheaply made, if you can find something better, go for that. Cause this aint it lmao

Inherited from Mom
I inherited this car from my Mom this year. It has 90K original miles, and has been wrecked once. Overall I would say it's a fairly reliable car, although I probably wouldn't have purchased it because of my inherent prejudice against the Big Three. The car is noisy, mainly from the drivetrain; road noise is acceptable. The car has enough power but lacks a crisp shift, seeming to wander between shifts. There is a strange vibration when idling in gear that might be the engine mounts, I just haven't attempted to fix the problem. This seems to be a common problem with the 04-05 Classics ( keep on mind this car isn't a real Malibu, just manufactured under that moniker and was basically reserved for rental companies). If properly maintained I hope to get another 100K out of this car. My last car, a 99 Camry LE 4 cyl. had 300K on it and ran better than this car, so I'm kinda biased.

Comfortable ride
I've had a hard time with small sedans finding a comfortable car, being 6' with long legs. The Malibu Classic is just right for me; with a power seat and peppy 4 cylinder engine, it's the perfect blend of price, comfort, and performance for my taste. Did I mention the price? Hard to beat at $11k with less than 16k miles.
Good utilitarian car
This is our second one. Wife rolled the 1st down the side of the mountain and all three ladies crawled out the window uninjured. It handled great until she hit the unexpected snow storm. She loved the car, purchases for $10K with 33K miles in '06. The 2nd one was $8K with 44K miles. We did not like it as well until we had the front brakes, pad and rotors, replaced for $450. We like it now. It is economical, reliable, and comfortable; a great middle-aged woman's car. I'd buy another one if she wrecked this one, too.
Car has all type of manufacturing issues
Let's start with the climate control system. I have brought this car in 4 times while under warranty to have issues fixed with the a/c and blower. After the warranty was expired i brought the car in another three times for climate control issues. Also have issues with the security system. I am writing this review while i wait for the alarm system to reset. Happens 3-4 times a week. Car has some serious flaws that chevy wont fix
