Spoiled by my rental, and now I want one of my own

I drove one of these over the course of a weekend. At first it took a little bit of work to get used to the controls and technology (I'm used to Toyotas). But once I did, most everything seems to work well, and it was a pleasure to drive this thing. Smooth, comfortable, and clean looking. And if fit my 6'4", 260 lb body very, very nicely.

I have owned this car for a month and absolutely love it. It has more features than the Lexus 350 I was looking at for thousands less. After driving both cars it was an easy decision based on features and price. The only thing I would change is the Bluetooth audio does not show album or artist details on screen which is so mirror. Everything else is so intuitive and easy to use. Based on the exterior conditions the car sets the internal systems to make you comfortable. Love it! I am averaging 23 mpg which is better than expected for the AWD. Also purchased this used on Vroom which was an excellent experience and will definitely be using this way for purchasing cars in the future.

Computer Malfunction almost killed us

This car almost killed us while driving through the rocky mountains this summer. 2019 Cadillac XT5 SUV VIN: 1GYKNGRS3K2137711 Odometer 32638 km I had previously reported a couple of odd glitches with this vehicle but Wolfe Cadillac in Edmonton never found anything wrong with it. We were just approaching the first tunnel before Glacier National Park at about 2PM when my husband, who was driving, passed a semi-truck using the passing lane. The car was in adaptive cruise control and he stepped on the gas slightly to accelerate. At this point, the Cadillac would NOT stop accelerating. The brakes would not work to disengage the acceleration and the car was revving at max. We were able to turn off cruise control, but the car would not stop accelerating. The column locked up and he could not put the car in neutral or change gears. Somehow, we managed through the first tunnel without having a collision. The semi that we had passed noticed we were in trouble and started flashing his lights to warn the cars behind us. My husband kept hitting the brakes to avoid the cars in front of us - now they were smoking and burning but the car still would NOT stop trying to accelerate. The seat belts kept grabbing us with the brake action, the car was screaming and there was so much smoke from the brakes. There was nowhere safe to pull over between tunnels, just the edge of the cliff. We both thought we were going to be killed by this car. My instinct was to turn the car off, but since we were speeding through the tunnels with cars in front of us, he thought if we hit the kill switch, we would not have brakes or power steering and we would be in more trouble. Understand this was not an instant thing, it was about 6 km of fearing for our lives. After we blasted through the second tunnel, we saw there was a small pullover area right in front of the Glacier sign. My husband proceeded to aim for it, kept applying the brakes a little at a time and finally stood on the brakes with both feet. He managed to get the car slow down enough to stop it and hit the button to kill the engine. The engine temporarily stopped but was sputtering and chugging like it wanted to start again. At this point we got out of the car. As you can imagine, this was a very traumatic experience for both of us. The power to the car remained on flashing all kinds of warnings and lights and there was so much smoke from the burning brakes. A horrible experience. We googled the issue we had with the car and to our surprise, there was a report of the exact same issue with the same make model and year of our Cadillac. Long story short, GMC Cadillac Buick does not give a crap that we were almost killed by this car because we did not die. We have been asking for 3 months now to warn people about this incident but they will not. Because I refused to get back in that vehicle and we traded it in back in Kelowna, we still do not know for sure what was exactly wrong with it. Some computer module malfunction is all we know. We are pretty sure they patched it up and sold it right away to the next lucky owner. If you drive a 2019 Cadillac XT5 or know someone that does, I highly recommend they get it in to get checked. Bannister GMC in Kelowna BC Canada will know what was wrong with it so I'm sure all GMC dealerships can call them and get the scoop. I hope they get 10000 phone calls. oh and lastly adding to this post I want to say all the GMC dealerships involved SUCKED for customer service. They have lost our business forever.

I love my XT5 as it is a smooth ride and fast. It’s a pleasure to drive it. MPG is very good and if you are careful you get great gas milage. The transmission is so smooth you don’t even feel the gear change. Pretty spacious as well. I drove a Lincoln Navigator for many years but so far like XT5 better since it’s more compact and rides better.

Their lossThis is the best SUV I' ve been waiting for. Truly a dream come true. Unlike the truck chassis, this SUV rides on air. I'm astonished that the public has not given this vehicle the attention it deserves. Their loss, bye the. bye.
