Ive owned alot of cars since the late 70's, mostly BMW and Porsche. Ive owned 5 M3's, 2 M5's, 4 911's and more recently X5's, a Cayenne and even an X3M. Then I bought a 2012 Audi A8L and fell in love with the brand. Bought wife an Audi allroad and wanted something a little sportier. Wen to the dealer intending to look at the S4/S6/7 line and was considering the S5 sportback. All of the aforementioned is only for context. Im an older guy who appreciates performance and yet I have a perspective of how much performance a person can actually use on the street. I also enjoy a modicum of practicality and so many new cars today offer both that could only be dreamed of 10 or 15 years ago. The SQ5 is without a doubt the best balance of both comfort and performance I have encountered to date in an easy to live with package. Simply amazing the choices we consumers enjoy today. I considered a Macan but the usual Porsche buying experience is a turnoff. Additionally, my local Audi dealer was terrific to deal with and frankly, the SQ5 technology embarrases the Macan as well as the driving dynamics of the 2018 SQ5 feel far superior to the older platform that underpins the Macan. You can't go wrong with the SQ5 and be sure to get the virtual cockpit option.

Initially I was going to buy BMW X3 M40i, but my friend recommended to try SQ5. I was impressed, it's much more comfortable and quiter, yet has good dynamics and handling. I decided to test GLC43 too. SQ5 is definitely a winner. It also was cheaper than other.

During the first few months of having the vehicle, the navigation system just turned-off while I was driving. I had to stop and turn the vehicle off and restart it to get it to turn back on. It happened several times, but went away after a few automatic software updates. The thermostat failed in May 2019 without any check engine light. Vehicle fan ran high non-stop. Took several days to repair the work and the dealership tried to charge me for the removal of the bumper to gain access to the thermostat. I pushed back and they did not charge me. In July 2019 the A/C stopped pushing cool air. Dealership said that the a/c liquid levels were not where they should have been. They filled it and no problems since.

I love this car. I have owned two M5s and I love this more than those. May sound crazy, but living in a city with congestion all over means rarely ever using the M5s power potential. The SQ5 is a way better ride and with the air suspension and ride height adjustment, is perfect for all around transport. Off the line power isn’t the best, but once it gets going and the turbos spooling, it shoots out like a rocket. The technology in this car is by far better than the BMWs I have owned. My SQ5 has every conceivable option installed which makes driving in congestion so easy. I have yet to try the auto cruise control where the car brakes, accelerates, and makes lane change recommendations on its own, but the Audi pre sense is a life saver if you have your eyes off the road for any amount of time. I also have the Audi connect and connect plus installed so I have google maps and WiFi in my vehicle which is nice on long road trips and you need to work on your laptop or save mobile data. The package includes unlimited data usage so there is no worry in going over. I can’t overstate how comfortable a ride this car is. You won’t be disappointed.

This elegant vehicle drives with comfort. It gives you an amazingly smooth transitioning as you are accelerating from a stop or during a lane change. This vehicle provides you a quiet cabin interior and smooth ride, an outstanding cooling system (important for all living in Arizona) and you can’t forget the sound system (Bang & Olufsen system is by far one of the best), while driving around in this elegant vehicle. We are retired (ages 57 and 60) my husband does most the driving however, it is very important for us that we are in a safe comfortable vehicle and have outstanding entertainment sound quality, this vehicle checks off everything we expect from a quality vehicle. This purchase will be our third Audi in five years, we love being an Audi loyalty customer. Audi customers service is absolutely outstanding (sales and service).
