Used 2005 Acura TSX 4dr Sedan (2.4L 4cyl 6M) Consumer Reviews
You must test drive this car
I've spent the last 3 weeks reviewing and testing driving cars in the $24,000 - $34,000 range, including Accords, Outback 2.5i wagons, BMW 325i's, Nissan Maximas, the Toyota RAV4, the Acrua TL, and the TSX. Our need was to have a car that could sub as a family sedan (ie, put a car seat in it if necessary), but provide suitable transportation for business travel and work commuting. My hope was to find a car with a sporty pretence but with a sedan functionality - the TSX fit the bill. The plethora of reviews killing the TL for rattles, squeaks, and harmonic vibrations scared us away from that car. The Accord would have been our second option if the negotiation on the TSX had fallen through.
Wonderful Car
It has been two years, two trips to California, Austin and Dallas. The car runs admirably. Lacking in power, it provides gas mileage, comfort, and fun driving. The overhead blue light during the night adds a unique but classy ambiance. The interior and use of all available space provide a wonderful usage for anything and everything, cell phones, chargers, cd cases. With performance being its only down point, I understand the balance, but it needs the extra horsepower or burst of speed off the line. There is one aspect from changing from second gear to third gear where it gets stuck even with the clutch completely down. Great car.

The best < $30K sedan
I drove 4K miles within first 45 days of owning this car. The handling is very good and especially great on slick wet roads. VSA really works great for tight curves. IMHO the power is sufficient and makes more interesting to drive with the short throw 6MT. Engine and road noise is minimal though slightly higher than Toyota/Lexus.
First New Car
This is my first brand new car and I have no regrets. The 6 speed manual is very responsive to my every move, easy to shift and loads of fun to drive. Even with passangers or cargo, it has enough power not to be weighed down.
Enjoyable car
First thing I have to mention is that the dealership I purchased from was willing to negotiate price. The safety features drew me to the TSX along with the horsepower. In researching out other cars in this category I was amazed at the features that came standard on the TSX. Its a fun car to drive and looks good but the back seats are the right size for children, adults will have a tough time getting in and out. Another surprise is that the car is not supposed to have a total load of over 850 pounds in it which means four adults can ride in it and no more but that is good considering how the back is so small. I like the tan interior but it is difficult to keep clean.
