2013 Volkswagen Passat SE 4dr Sedan w/Sunroof (2.5L 5cyl 6A)
My wife @ I were in the market of purchasing a family sedan and ended up choosing the Passat SE.
At first, it was a toss up who loved the car more-my wife or kids.
The stereo system is awesome-the sunroof w/ its variable selections is right on, the way it handles a curve in the road or tight turns is very impressive and the leather seats are extremely comfy.
At 29,000 miles the brakes started making that squeaking sound(rotors/pads required replacement) headlights are on recall from VW, the paint chips very easily and random computer messages keep popping up on the dash for no apparent reason.
Just today the battery went dead and needs replacing. Trading it in on 2014 Ford Fusion SE!!!
Stereo puts out quite the sound.
Love the sunroof and the ability to open it a little or a lot.
The bug catcher attached is a neat idea.
Handles curves and tight turns like nobody's business.
Leather seats are comfortable and more then ample back seat room for teens but it all stops there.
Start with reliability!
There is no reason why a consumer should have to replace the brakes, rotors, and battery at 29,000 miles!
I've had 4 Honda 36 mo leases that never required a thing but oil changes and minor air filter replacements.
Until VW starts improving their reliability-which JD Power and associates list them at a 2 out of a 5 they're going to come up short every time.
I took a chance purchasing this card despite what JD Power stated as there were some really good reviews out there and I got a great deal on the car-Biggest Mistake!
JD Power was right on all along.
