2005 Nissan Xterra
Had this Xterra for a long time the biggest common issue is the radiator failing and transmission fluid mixing with coolant it lasted till 280k before it killed transmission, there is a very simple fix just bypass the rad all together and run tranny lines directly to front transmission cooler and you will never have a problem again! It has never broken down besides that issue, fuel … mileage is decent for what it is, 4x4 is legendary, the Xterra is extremely well built and rugged, I can’t see myself buying any other suv, it’s now at 340k and no signs of dying, only major repairs were the transmission replacement at 280,000, rear leaf springs at 334k they were breaking pieces off typical, and the alternator at 335,000, and the fuel tank straps, I’d recommend it to anyone dare I say it it’s more reliable then a 4Runner?
