Hi, I bought a used 2007 Nissan sentra 2.0s (with 70k miles) from a dealer in WI. Bofore selling they had performed a 120 point inspection on this car. After using it for a month (700 miles), I observed that the engine oil light is always in ON condition. So i took it to the dealer and the service engineer found out that there is no engine oil. Then I filled ... Read More
I have 2007 Sentra with now 50K miles. Took in for routine pad replacement at my mechanic of 15 years who's done many on other vehicles. He put on Wagner pads. Within 3 weeks, rotors warped. Took back, resurfaced rotors, replaced pads, 3 weeks later, rotors warped with louder noise than before. Took back, replaced everything including pins with all Nissan parts, resurfaced rotors. 1 week later, noisy rotors again, but ... Read More
Since you provided your personal experience, I'll provide mine: 2001 Elantra GLS, purchased new in October 2000, sold to my sister five years ago. I have a noise on my 2007 Nissan Sentra 2.0 w/ CVT tranny & 55,000 miles. When the car first starts in the morning and I accelerate from a stop, it makes this annoying tap-tap-tap noise, that makes the engine just sound really loud, that goes very quickly and seems to be in sync with how hard I hit the gas. The engine purrs like a kitten and is pretty quiet ... Read More

Hi, in my case it was the fuel pump. One of the terminals going to the pump was almost burnt. So I guess sometimes the "signal" got thru and the car would turn on and sometimes it wouldn't. Hope it helps!

I just drove home in my new 2.0 S, silver. I agree that it's surprising the car doesn't get much attention. I think it's an excellent value for the money, especially the SR which is about the same price as a comparably-equipped Elantra. Like the Elantra, the Sentra has mid-sized interior room in a compact package. I was impressed with the smooth and quiet ride of the car, and also the ... Read More

Hyundai desperately needs to drop the ancient 4-speed AUTO, revise the suspension, drop the 2.4l in, include traction control as standard and make ESC optional and keep the price the same. A few more centimeters of interior space just don't cut it in 2007 when your powerplant and chasis is sub par. Why? You haven't read the review yet, so you don't know why C/D rated the Elantra 4th. The Elantra ... Read More
I hope I'm not re-posting old news but there's a rather gushingly positive review of the new 07 Sentra here: http://newcartestdrive.com/review-intro.cfm?Vehicle=2007_Nissan_Sentra&ReviewID=- - 1969 Has anyone noticed the design similarity between the new Sentra and the new Chrysler Sebring?
We received three 2007 Sentras this week. I have not had a chance to drive one yet, but certainly will this coming Wednesday when we do a "Ride and Drive" with the Nissan reps, comparing the new Sentra to the Civic and the Corolla. The one in the showroom has the 6 spd. If anyone has any questions on the new car, I will try my best to answer them.
For the 2007 model year, the Hyundai Elantra and Nissan Sentra are all-new, and are the newest entries in the $16k-20k economy car class. They have several similarities, for example: compact sedans with mid-sized interiors (the largest in their class); three trim levels, including a top-end trim with standard leather (not available on competitors like Civic and Corolla); similar powerplants (2.0L, with 138 hp on the Elantra and 140 on the ... I don't know if many people care. There's a dedicated discussion for the 2007 Sentra in Town Hall, and there hadn't been a post for over five weeks before I put one in there tonight. Seems odd for one of the newest compact (actually low-end midsized) sedans, with a nice blend of room and features.
Five weeks with no posts? Hard to believe. Nissan is ramping up the marketing for the new Sentra. They have big ads in the car mags, claiming "you could live in it". And one guy did, for a week anyway. You can even build one on nissanusa.com. I priced out a 2.0S with ABS, and found out I had to get alloys plus a $650 convenience package also. Seems odd that ... I just recently bought a 2006 Sentra SE-R Spec V. I was waiting for the 2007 to drop but to be honest I'm not impressed with the look and after talking with many Nissan Reps I was told that 2007 is not offering a SE-R or Spec V. I love the one I have but does anyone know why they would do away with it. Also I hear alot of talk ... Read More
I have to disagree on that! The 2007 Sentra is much more cleanly-styled than the Ion--in fact the look of the Sentra is far more inspired by the look of the larger Altima sedan.
The new Sentra looks way too much like a Saturn ION (above), which may harm Sentra sales. Nevertheless, the 2007 Sentra (above) is sure to be a much better vehicle than the ION - even being based on the European "Renault Megane II" platform. Even the French should be able to build a better sedan than the Saturn ION. The new Sentra also resembles the Daewoo Lacetti, sold in the USA ... Read More
You hit it on the head. The Versa is now the "low end" car in Nissan's lineup, and the Sentra is moving upscale for 2007 and will be a much larger and more luxurious car (and more expensive!). But even the Versa isn't a "low end" car in the traditional sense. It's very roomy with a nicely-finished interior, and has features that until recently have been available only in expensive cars, ... Read More
What does your post have to do with what stshepard stated in that original post? There were no claims made that the Spec V is high tech. Most folks on these boards are well aware of what the Spec V is- 2.5L engine, enhanced suspension and brakes, 6M. On the note of the new Sentra, which is actually the topic here anyway, it seems that Nissan has finalized HP figures, if ... Read More
I currently own a 2004 SER Spec V, it's a great runnin' little car, it's peppy, although not out right fast, but it has dusted a few Civic's and Mazda 3's (didn't make the guy in the 3 very happy either - I guess he didn't see the SER Spec V badge!!!) I have about 70,000 miles on the car and I still love it, infact I like it more now ... Read More
