I am curious which you ended up with. I am trying to decide between a 2011 TL or a 2010 MKZ. I have been driving Lincoln LS's for the last 10 years, so I now what features I get from Lincoln that are in excess of what Acura base cars provide. My concern is the residual value. Looks like the Acura beats the MKZ by about $1500. My concern is the ... Read More

Hi jay222. Ford Credit's lease rates on the MKZ vary by region. They're anywhere from 1.25% to 2.25%. I would be happy to tell you what this car's exact rate is in your neck of the woods right now if you tell me what state you are in. Car_man Host Prices Paid: Buying & Leasing Experiences Forum

I chose my Zephyr over the Lexus ES for because I could get it w/o a moonroof (I'm 6'3"), it ran on regular gas and it offered great value. It's no longer the value it was and Lexus is retuning their product line to run on regular (the 2011 ES drops 4-6 HP but, recommends regular fuel). The gas thing was one advantage the MKZ had over it's competition but, now ... Read More

It is not that easy, Allen. Ford knows more or less what the Ford brand is about, and has learned some hard lessons. The Five Hundred's styling was a really awful idea, and transforming it into the 08 Taurus just wasted more limited funds. Thankfully, they got right to work on the 2010 Taurus. They also screwed up with the Flex, in that they took the Fairlane concept that in production ... Read More

Outselling the GS and M is outselling the GS and M, but they are both about the slowest moving models for Lexus and Infiniti. They have never been volume models. Both are being totally revamped momentarily. I like a MKZ-size car. I just don't like the MKZ. It (and you have said it yourself) is too much like the Fusion to be a real Lincoln. With the MKS, it is a ... Read More

I hope that Allen is right about Lincoln making money, even with much lower sales. But even so, it means there isn't much demand for Lincolns overall. The MKZ is languishing, and Ford really doesn't care, since that means more Fusions can be built. As for Cadillac's success, who cares how they get it, as long as they get it after the corporation went bankrupt? In the past few years, Lincoln ... Read More

I expect this is a precursor to what we can expect from the next MKZ. The gallery pics with the Lincoln steering wheel are from the 2011 MKX debuting next week at the Detroit Auto Show. The Ford pictures are from the 2011 Edge. Any doubt Ford and Lincoln are headed in the right direction? That is really too bad. I know that Ford is trying to survive and rebuild, but other companies seem to have core BRANDS (e.g., Chevrolet, Cadillac, Buick-GMC) while Ford can only muster core brand. Maybe their strategy will work, but I doubt that Ford can go on much longer making anything else an afterthought. As we all know, the MKZ is a gussied up Fusion. I see the 2011 MKX will ... Good post! I can't help but be a little disappointed in the new MKZ. Some subtle exterior changes and an overall nicer interior but, I don't think these changes will interest those that didn't care for the original Zephyr/MKZ. And Ford continues to fall just short of what they need to do to pull equal to the target competition. Did you note that the new MKZ only offers 7 exterior colors ... Read More
