Money Pit Stay Away
I have had almost anything you can think of done to this car Trans, ABS mod, rack and pin, strunts, oil trap, ball joints, and Im still having computer problems my back seat head rest only flip down when it is cold out and when the car feels like it, about once every two months my turn signals will not work and my air bag light stays on. I will never buy another. Thanks for ruining volvo FORD!
Disappointment
Poor reliability, expensive electronics failures some plastic parts don't stand UV, therefore disintegrate, had to replace sway bars, rubber washers under the McPherson, dashbord not user frienfly, on and on and on.
Paint it yellow and call it a lemon
I was so excited when I first purchased my new Volvo. Even though it was a bit pricey, I was looking forward to getting 300,000 miles out of it. My first clue should have been when a position light message came on when I was driving it home from the dealer my first day. I have had multiple problems since that day. Under warranty the rings had to be replaced with <20,000 miles on it. I have spent thousands of $$ to try to figure out why my check engine light stays on. Over $4000 to have it fixed and 50 miles later the light came on again. Now my emissions light keeps coming on. 3 oxygen sensors later, it still comes on. Plan to put it in gear, run it off the mountain and collect the ins.
Disappointing Fiasco
Volvo should be embarrassed with how this vehicle has seriously tarnished thier reputation. From day one, we experienced multiple electrical problems, such A/C staying on after shutoff, molding falling off, idiot lights that indicated engine trouble, malfunctioning locks, doors, batteries, etc. Everytime car brought in to Volvo 128, service department claimed nothing was wrong. This car & most importantly the dealer were a complete fiasco that sheds Volvo in a light different from what they spent years trying to develop.
Buy a S-80 again? Probably NOT!
For a car that wraps around you and says, I will protect you in a crash, my S-80 was a very disappointing experience. . My problems varied with the fuel injection and the suspension being the 2 greatest problems. Dealer had the car 2 months trying to fix it and 13 trips to the shop for misc. problems like the transmission sensor, just to mention a few. The dealer ship was wonderful, only problem was the 130 miles to get there. The day the car was going back it made it on a tow truck. For the 4 months before I dumped the car I put it in my back yard and let grass grow up around it.
