Used 2007 Volkswagen Passat Consumer Reviews
The best family sedan
After looking at and driving the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry I chose the Passat for the interior comfort and the Turbo 4. Well now I've owned it for 2 years and this was the best decision Ive made for a family car. The turbo 4 is great and I'm seeing actual MPGs of 19 to 21 in the city and 33 to 34 on the highway, so a full tank of gas takes me about 400 to 425 miles. This surprised me as it wasn't rated this high. The car handles great and this base car has everything we need. The only problem I have is the difficulty in performing basic maintenance. Otherwise the car is perfect. Oh Ive had a hell of a time keeping proper psi in the tires and had 1 tires replaced by conti for 1/2 price
If GM and Ford only built 'em like this.
The Passat looks like a Mercedes competitor at a fraction of the cost. VW has done it again, with a Sport Wagon that feels larger inside than it is on the outside. This Teuton has classy looks, a kick-butt blower engine, comfort, style, and a TON of "standard options," for a darned good price. There are unobtrusive storage compartments everywhere. The keyless key-ignition, a no-lever emergency brake, and a hill- hugger extra clutch add to the attractiveness of this car. It even has a driver-controlled data management system that will translate programmed orders into seven languages (incl. Chinese). Take one out for a spin and you'll never buy another Taurus wagon or a minivan.

I expected the Best!
I purchased my VW used. I drove a BMW Z4 Coupe prior and have owned a Turbo S Beetle and C5 Corvette. This Passat is what I expected...that's why I bought it. I considered three premium used sedans over the Passat. A Saab 93, Caddy CTS and Audi A4. This time it was about VALUE. Everybody is complaining about comfort. I have those sport seats in my Passat that come standers in the VW CC. So far I've made three trips from LA to San Francisco and one LA to Las Vegas. Excellent mileage! I'm very and looking at the CC next
Great Car
My wife bought this car to replace a 2003 Buick Rendezvous. She is thriled. She gets the space she needed and the zip she did not have. And, the car looks great. She loves all the features, but the XM radio is on the top of her list (go figure). Now she can listen to even more sports talk radio....what a girl (and, her in it, makes the car look even sexier than it already is). Anyone looking at SUV's should consider this car.
Great Deal.
We bought the car because we need a bigger car due to my mother-in-law being so ill and traded our VW Beetle convertible, yes we cried. This car we've owned for almost 2 years and have gotten great gas mileage and excellent reliability from our Passat. I don't like the car but for the price and features, size, comfort, suspension we can't beat the German price we got. Other owners have complained but how do they really treat their cars? Do they really service them when needed, Volkswagen has really come up from where they were a couple years ago. Back in 2000 I bought a brand new Beetle and the thing within a year broke down 6 times less than 10k miles, I'm impressed with the improvement of quality.
