Great car but really poor brakes

Bought this car new. Have taken it to three Dealerships: one in Texas, one in Georgia and the other here in Florida. The Brake pedal travel is excessive. Almost hit the rear of the car in front of me on numerous occasions. Very scary situation and will cause me to sell this car. The dealerships all have told me it's a design issue with this car and can't be fixed or improved. Even my brother-in-law's Toyota minivan's brakes are much better than this thing. To bad as it is such a well thought out utility sized vehicle.

100k mile Venza review. Super reliable SUV

Ok so I was super excited to buy this car when I did. Purchased it 1 year pre-loved here in Southern California with roughly 20k miles on it. I bought it because I wanted something that I knew I was going to have for awhile, and boy did I have this for awhile. I just recently sold it to buy a family truck, but I miss it!! It was SO RELIABLE, spacious, comfortable. I literally didn't have to do any unexpected maintenance on it the entire 9 years I owned it. Just oil changes, brakes, and regularly scheduled maintenance. The controls worked well and were easy to use. Yes now that it's 2023, 10 years later the tech has come a long way since this car but honestly it suited my needs perfectly well even up until now. Yeah, it doesn't have all the new stuff cars now have, like parking assist, lane keeping assist, heads up display, but it drove well, I always felt safe in it with my 4 year old. Though I must say the 4cyl could not keep up on uphill ascents, so I did wish I had purchased the V6. But it was plenty roomy for our family of 3 and all our stuff. We've taken it to Mammoth Mountain numerous times and it did fine. The new Venzas are smaller than this one, which is a bummer. If you want something that is super dependable, safe and comfortable for a growing family this is a great suv. Controls are simple, you can connect your phone via bluetooth. If they had made the new Venzas as big as this old one I would buy another one.

Have racked up my 6th year ownership (67+K miles) on my 2013 Venza Limited with V-6 engine and just traded it in for a new car. The Venza has been a pleasure to own and the most reliable car I've ever owned. I hate pickups and prefer sedans so this was a good compromise. The mileage could be better averaging around 22-23 MPG on regular fuel. There have been no maintenance issues other than one. Apparently Japanese manufacturers use "green" products under the hood that are derived from peanut oils and these attract rodents who will chew up your hoses, wires, etc. I caught this early before any severe damage was done (repairs cost about $300). I now use countermeasures like putting mothballs under the hood to keep out pests which seems to work for the most part. Otherwise I like the way this car drives and feel the V6 provides reasonable performance. The interior could be more luxurious and offer more features and some of the fit and finish is a bit off. The Infotainment system could be better and the screen's too small. Also the Nav system selects some truly bizarre routes at times which has me scrambling for my phone and Google Maps to bail me out. Bottom line, this is a practical and ultra reliable crossover with plenty of power, average mileage, and reasonably comfortable.
