Outstanding
Traded in the 3.5 Raptor for the Trailhunter. Similar options. Ride is great. Outstanding mpg for a truck. Eats all the off-road trails I have thrown at it. Comfortable and easy to drive, no regrets, the whole package

Toyota put it all together!!
Love the vehicle. Dislike the lack of trained salespeople to explain the vehicle's features

Rides like full size
Great truck and 4cyl with turbo is robust, quick, and drives great on highway with power. I haven't driven off-road yet, but assume it is a beast. Great truck overall and I love it. Some nits, the back seat/cab is small in 4th gen, and the tech packages are expensive, so 8 inch screen is cheap looking but works great with Apple car play.

Transmission Failure at 690 miles!
I bought a new 2024 Tacoma SR due to the excellent reputation of the brand. Unfortunately, at 690 miles, the transmission failed. To my surprise, this is a major problem on some of the 2024s. Google " 2024 Toyota Tacoma problems," and you find that Toyota has issued a TSB on the truck, and there are multiple lawsuits on this defect that are widely known. I learned my lesson on ever buying the first year of a redesigned vehicle. The repair cost: 11,000. The service department was reimbursed 9500 since obviously it was under warranty. I asked Toyota to repurchase the vehicle, and thankfully, they did and were very professional about the whole process, which was amazing. Besides the obvious issue with the transmission... there were some other descepencies that became annoying after driving it for a few months. For example, I came to realize that the gas tank was small, that the back seats were extremely cramped (if you ever plan on someone seating back there), there was not a garage door button, no mirrors in the visors, and no door handle unlocking capability on the driver side. Higher end models probably have these options but the base SR did not. I was shocked at the experience I went through with the transmission failure but pleasantly pleased with how Toyota handled the issue.

Perfect truck
This is a perfect size truck for my needs. I can tow something small if I need to, but also small enough to get into just about any parking spot. I don't need anything fancy, but still need a truck from time to time and it fits into my life style.
