Cheap interior materials and other parts

Cheap plastics, fabrics (floors), finishes in cabin makes its interior look cheap even though I've got XLE+Navi option. Comparing to previous Sienna model with same trim option, it has less leather surface than older models to save its cost. You will find other cost saving effort from Toyata, unless you are paying $40.000+ for limited edition. Check its keyless remote, interior finishes, XLE's leather finishes/quality, they are lower than average car. Especially you are also considering Oddysey Ex-L+Nav I agree on smooth ride and handling, but overall, I regret. If I buy again, I will go for Kia Sedona or Honda Pilot. UPDATE: It's been great family car for trips. Engine and transmission are healthy like a new one. MPG has been average 17mpg so far at 68000 miles. there is one issue raised after 44,000 miles. Vibration started at brake and worst from 50mph to 35 mph. I tried everything I could. I changed 50% remained brake pad with new at first, wheel alignment, and replace rotor at last, but mechanic couldn't fix the issue.

Have loved this van, great get up and go, lots of space, and plows through snow without a problem.

Oct, 2021, 7 yr update. Not much driving last year. About 50,000 miles. Decided to change oil around 7000 miles now. Ride is still good. About 20-22 mpg. Sliding door recall fixed. .. Radio Entune still the worst part of the van. Leather seats still good. Clean/protect every 2 yrs. No repairs needed, it's a.Toyota. Cabin filters are easy to change. . My original 5 yr review. XLE no extra packages. Bought labor day weekend, 2014 as the 2015 updates were basically the radio and minor cosmetics. Figured the engine and tyranny weren't updated so I rather save about $1800 due to clearance and cash back + 0% cash back was $750 and loan or $2000 with no loan. So the entune is terrible and used it once, maybe. 36,000 needed new tires. Oil changes between 9000 and recommended 10000 with toyota filters on Amazon. Same as my 2016 camry and 5 filter are $20-$22. Less than $5 each. Battery died @ 34 months, so covered under warranty. So, battery, tires, and airbag recall were needed aside from oil changes. I do my own work after the 24 month included. You really need to keep the 6 month visits to get your two oil changes. Even with low miles, just go. About the ride...well other peeps covered that. Drives easy, it floats, not a sports car or sedan but handles as expected from a van. Lots of space. To remove Second row seats, have two people or you'll need a chiropractor after a few bad lifts. Aftermarket custom mats didn't work too well in the back two rows due to the moving middle seat rails. Take off the crossbars to reduce drag. Average 21 - 22 mpg suburban highway mixed. Ok in light snow until about 20000 miles, then tires were wearing down. Goes fast. Going 80 mph and don't know it. Go 88 and the cops tell you. Had a 99 sienna until 2015 with 210000. It was burning a quart of oil every 1500 miles the last few months. Hence new 2014.

Sienna a bad deal

The VSC light comes on causing the cruise control to stop working. Dealer says $2,000 fix. Headlights went bad. $100 each except one will cost $1,300. According to dealer there's a computer for each headlight. Poor engineering. I had a 2001 sienna and loved it. This '04 is junk. Don't buy these cars.

THEFT BY TOYOTA

I have owned three Toyota Siennas. In June, 2015, I purchased a two year Prepaid Maintenance Program Extension on my 2013 Sienna for $299. We do not drive a lot, and so when this car was destroyed by a careless driver, and we purchased a 2015 Sienna, I took the paperwork down to Stevinson Toyota on Havana in Aurora, Co. to get the maintenance contract transferred. I was SHOCKED when they said all they could transfer was $169.94. None of the contract had been used. THAT IS TANTAMOUNT TO THEFT OF $130 OF OUR MONEY.
