Used 2006 Toyota RAV4 4dr SUV 4WD (2.4L 4cyl 4A) Consumer Reviews
Rave about RAV4
For a 6'2" 250 pound male this vehicle amazes me. This is a gift for my wife but the more I ride and drive the RAV4 the more I like it. I can actually get in and adjust the very comfortable seats (front or rear) and have plenty of room to drive or ride quite comfortably. This little buggy is a gas to drive and easy to park - you can turn around on a 2 lane street with one turn. The 17" wheels and tires provide a stable ride and the 4 speed automatic shifts smooth as silk. Third row seating would be a criminal option for this car because the rear compartment configuration is excellent and well designed. Getting in & out was the biggest plus for my wife and me - absolutely the perfect height.
RAV 4 LOVE
I love it and really enjoy the driving. Great turning radius. Toyota is meant for Quality.

New 2006 is awful!!
I previously had a 1997 Toyota Rav4 that was much superior to this piece of junk. The 2006 model is cheap and nasty. The metallic covered pieces in the interior are already scuffed and scratched and have to be touched up or repainted. The AC knob has been pushed through the console and needs to fixed. I have dogs and the inside is already showing scratch marks on the inside door panels. Never had any of these problems with the 1997 Rav4 and wish I could have my old car back. The 2006 is not made for any off roading of hauling of objects, the inside is just too delicate. Another problem is that the 4 cylinder response lags. Want to get rid of this car ASAP.
Vibration
When engine is idling and AC is on you will feel a vibration through the floor when the AC kicks in. Sometimes vibration is stronger than other times. It is very anoying
2 Years with the Rav
Noticed that many have only had their cars for 2 months and are extremely pleased. Had mine for 2 years so here's a real review. Fit and finish, build are very good. I have the base 4WD. Handles great in the snow. The only thing I would improve on is the mileage. I get 22 city/hgwy. After 2 years am bored looking at it. Am waiting for something a little more sporty, that gets better mileage. Am sure I'll plenty to choose from, then I'll say bye bye Rav.
