Highlander Hybrid is awesome!

We love our hybrid Highlander! We feel safe and very comfortable in it. The engines are very powerful. We can really turn on the power when we need to. Smart design, good storage, efficent, and we're averaging 23 mpg. I'd like a little more fuel efficiency but we're happy to support the hybrid technology. The car is very quiet, too.

Overpriced, poorly built

I am not impressed with my purchase. I get 24mpg in town which is horrible. I have had some issues with my power window motors that have been dropping. They don't build them like they used to.

Unexpected power in for a Green SUV

My ONLY complaint is headroom for tall adults in the back and passenger seats. I am used to a truck with greater headroom. I have friends over 6'4 who found the more elevated passenger seat and back seat head clearence a little cramped. I often pulse and cruise - get 29-30mpg around town. It has better pickup than our accord and is quality wise the very best vehicle we have owned. Given, the Tundra WAS Alot more fun off road. I recommend vehicle. Oh one other minor flaw, sunroof and window noise is a problem when openned and you have to adjust them when exceeding 30 mph to stop a annoying wind vibration. Again minor when all the advantages of this vehicle are considered.

Best car I ever had

I own a Mercedes, a BMW 525i, and now the Hybrid Highlander, and the latter car just may be the best car I ever owned. This car is so quiet, even with the engine running, unless you have the engine monitor up you can't tell when the engine is running. Completely silent all the time. But best thing is acceleration-- better than the gas model. Torque not a problem, the traction motors on AWD model wind up as quickly as the battery/engine allow them to, quicker than an engine alone. No rattles, no defects, the navigation system is fantastic. I am still terrificly excited about this car.

While not getting the mileage they like to advertise at the dealers it is a great riding and has the performance of a V8 at the fuel cost of a 4 cyl. How can that be bad!!!! :-)
