Used 2006 Toyota Highlander Hybrid Consumer Reviews
Highlander Hybrid
This SUV provides a smooth yet powerful drive, even much to my surprise in the mountains of Colorado, which accounts for a least 50% of my driving. No problems whatsoever after over 11,000 miles of driving in all kinds of weather. The AWD seems better than any previous AWD vehicles I've own in the difficult winter weather driving conditions of Summit County Colorado.
Highlander Hybrid is awesome!
We love our hybrid Highlander! We feel safe and very comfortable in it. The engines are very powerful. We can really turn on the power when we need to. Smart design, good storage, efficent, and we're averaging 23 mpg. I'd like a little more fuel efficiency but we're happy to support the hybrid technology. The car is very quiet, too.

I REALLY LIKE THIS VEHICLE...
It's a great car... nothing bad to say about it... wish it lived up to it's mileage claims a little better but it may be my fault for driving with a little bit of a lead foot too...l Ioved it in winter on ice and snow... it saved my life with it's nonslip feature at least twice this winter when the wheels just spun out and then the car shuddered and the darn thing righted itself and I didn't go into the ditch after all!!!
Don't waste your money
Bought in Aug 2005. We have 7500 miles on it now and can only get 22 mpg. It's sad since the regular version gets 20 MPG (hwy). We are not aggressive drivers and drive with the lightest foot possible. The dealer told us to drive this vehicle hard for the first 5000 miles when we bought it so the computer would learn. Learn what??? I bought this vehicle, I stuck with it but I will not make the same mistake twice. They simply are not worth the money. Honesty works best. Toyota should learn that and stop advertising the high MPG when they know it's not true. Per my service adviser "normal range for the highlander hybrid is 22-28 MPG" Isn't the 30+ number they tell you when you buy it is it.

While not getting the mileage they like to advertise at the dealers it is a great riding and has the performance of a V8 at the fuel cost of a 4 cyl. How can that be bad!!!! :-)
