Our 2021 Corolla is not close to getting the advertised 50/51 mpg. Our car has less than 5000 miles on it. We are currently on a long trip and averaging 41 mpg. Really disappointed. That is the whole reason we bought this car. Anyone else with this same issue?

I have owned my Corolla Hybrid since May, 2020. Thus far I have put 81,500 miles on it (yes that is accurate). This is my first Toyota and also my first Hybrid & I can honestly say that I have not regretted my choice for even one moment. In these 81,500 miles I have not had 1 single problem & I am still on my first set of brakes. I am aware that hybrid brakes last a great deal longer than regular brakes, but I am still shocked given that I live in the mountains of WV & most people get roughly 60-70% of brake life most people do who live in other places. The next thing that has absolutely amazed me is my MPG’s. Living in the mountains ur not used to getting anywhere near what the manufacturer states. However, the Corolla consistently delivers 51-53mpg in the summer and 42-47mpg in the winter with snow tires. I have even gotten 61.5mpg on a drive from Boone, NC to Clarksburg, WV @ 75mph & driving mainly though mountains. This to me is absolutely incredible! Lastly, after reading all the horror reviews on the other car I looked a great deal at (Hyundai Ioniq), I am so glad I made the choice I did. It seems that roughly 20-30% of Ioniq owners end up having transmission issues & those who do not @ best still have all kinds of crazy electrical issues. So glad I was spared from all of that. In conclusion, is the Corolla a sports car or a luxury car? No. But, it does exactly what it was designed to do, be a very reliable & economical car. If that is what ur looking for, then look no farther and just buy one. You will not regret it.

"Grabby brakes and numb pedal are difficult to use smoothly," is what they say in their review. I have owned a 2020 Corolla Hybrid for about a year and 15,000 miles and have found the brakes to be smooth and linear from day one. In my experience there is nothing "grabby" about them. I can only imagine that their experience is an anomaly and I believe they should test the car again so they can expunge this unfair assessment.

Unbelievable car. Mileage is 51mpg and I am a lead-foot driver. Fast and tight, like an expensive vehicle. While not crazy about dashboard layout, I will get comfy with it over time. On that note - very comfortable seating... I have lower back issues yet drive 4-5hr long trips routinely without pain in this vehicle. I am average height/WT. Incredibly satisfied with this vehicle to the point of laughter. There is no better vehicle than a Toyota, I have learned from experience (13 vehicles owned since 1981, 7 different brands)
