Used 2021 Toyota Corolla Hybrid Consumer Reviews
We are loving it1!
Reading some of the reviews here has me puzzled. It appears that Toyota must have been listening to the complaints because my car has a spare and a full set of tools for changing a tire. We have blind spot monitoring lights in the rear view mirrors. We are getting excellent mileage in mostly city driving. ( We bought it just before Covid so we have not gone anywhere out of the city.) On some highway style driving we were surprised to find it operating on electric alone a lot of the time. We have the leather interior. I am in Canada so maybe we have a different set of features than they offer in the States? We are having fun with the Bluetooth music as our grandsons love to listen to music while we drive.

Human-car interface needs work
After about 2 1/2 years, I think this car is ok, but I really would like to get rid of it. It handles ok and has been reliable, but interior design is really a fail for me. The driver seat is still uncomfortable, and I still struggle to find a good driving position for longer drives. I drive with the headrest backward because I guess Toyota can’t make an adjustable headrest. The fixed, forward tilting headrest puts my torso in a strange position that is tiring after about 10 minutes. The bucket seat bottom cushion is my main gripe— I have to sit crooked in the seat to be comfortable. It’s funny— I had no complaints about the driver’s seat in my 2008 Corolla— Toyota’s front seats are getting worse every year it seems (I’ve sat in all of them at the dealerships). The infotainment system is truly technology from 15+ years ago, and the touch screen is a foolish idea that is annoying to use and often has a long delay after making a selection…I have an iphone and I am completely comfortable with touch screen technology, but this kind of technology is not a good idea for a car console — especially when this poorly designed. As far as the mpg goes, my average has dropped a bit to about 45 mpg (I’m at ~90,000 miles now).

First car
Great first car for our daughter
Great Car, Super MPG
Happy with my Hybrid! The car drives well and safety features, along with adaptive cruise control make my daily commute less stressful. Love it!
VERY GOOD BUT COULD BE BETTER
The Corolla Hybrid is a great car for the money. The problem is it isn't Android friendly, lacks XM/Satellite Radio, and can be a little noisy during acceleration. Cruise control is there, but takes a while to get you up to speed again if you slow down. GREAT MPG and a very stylish and logical instrument cluster.
