Toyota is the best

There was no need for me to purchase a car of this class. While I enjoy driving powerful, well-built, new cars, a smaller car, like the Corolla or a Honda Civic would have served me just fine. The Camry, however, not only has an elegant and attractive design. It holds the road magnificently. Having learned how to drive in Italy, I have chosen the manual 5-speed model, which turned out to be economically wise. Having full control of the gear shift, I make up to 38 miles with a gallon on the highway and never less than 30 in city driving. The engine is poweful and the vehicle has the right weight for its length and width. Its stability is enviable even on rainy roads.

It is a nice car but be careful to the dealer. THey can set a trap for you just because it is a nice car and you want to buy.

I really like my Camry. But we had to replace the intake manifold. Other than that it has been a great car ro own and drive. Roomy with good sound system, because music in my car is mandatory.

Disappointed owner

I loved this car until recently when I had to put approximately $1500 in non-routine maintenance repairs on the car. The car has a little over 60K on it and has had all of the recommended routine service done at the dealership since I purchased it there. Over the last 6 weeks, it's been extremely disappointing and I now seriously doubt I'll ever purchase another Toyota. I had to have the trunk latch replaced - $350; replace seal on oil casing (?) - $280; replace something w/control arms on front end - $900. The car has never been in an accident and has been well- taken care of. I think next time I'll buy a domestic car. :o/

beautiful car but...

I have had my Camry since August 2003, beautiful car, smooth ride, but the air conditioning had a leak inside the car 1 1/2 yrs. in and flooded the carpets, Toyota replaced the part but did nothing to repair the wet/ moldy smelling rugs. I had to pay a detailing company to clean and restore the interior of my car. The bottom of the car scrapes speed bumps at under 5 mph, and low driveways. Even with brand new tires it does very poorly in the snow, slides all over the road at very low speeds, cannot even back up off my flat driveway in a 1/2 inch of snow. Very scary to drive in winter weather.
