Used 2006 Toyota Avalon Limited 4dr Sedan (3.5L 6cyl 5A) Consumer Reviews
My avalon
It is one of the nicest driving, and riding cars I have ever owned. I am more than pleased with it.
Noisy
For a Car in this price range the ride is too firm and the wind noise is high at highway speeds. Also the car is jerky and not very smooth at takeoff.

sudden loss of engine oil
A friend with 30,000 miles on same model reported sudden loss of engine oil with no engine light. I talked with local maintenance supervisor about this. He reported this was a regular problem, especially at 50-60k miles. Replacement rubber hose hard to find. No recall yet but he expects one any day.
Not Impressed so far!
Bought the top of the line Limited model with all the bells and whistles except for NAV which I find useless. The engine is pretty quick and the interior room is good. I was dismayed to find after the first month that the transmission was leaking on my garage floor. Thankfully the dealer fixed that. The car handles well but is noisier than expected. I also think the trunk is too small and find it incredible that Toyota doesn't install some kind of exterior door protection trim molding on a 36K car! I'm also not overly fond of the light fake wood but I do like the silver accents.
So Far So good
After having the Mazda 626 (2000) the Avalon Limited is quite a jump. The jump has been good I find the interior to be roomy and comfortable. The car is big. While it isn't a sports car, it is nimble. Noise is very low The rear seating room is immense. Control location for driver is convenient.
