2nd owner, had for 5 years. Mileage now at 119k - BRAKES FAILED! Need a whole new ABS modulator unit - close to $4,000! Still in shock! Will fix but will be selling.

I have had mine for 5-years. It has been reliable. The driver's seat is high and the top of the windshield is low, seeing stop lights can be a problem if you are tall. The width of the drivers position is narrow, the hump in the middle will make you right knee sore on a long trip. The car is designed for little people. Larger and taller folks will find it uncomfortable. The rear deck has a downward sloping curve that meets the lift gate. Round items, like wine bottles, will find the low spot. When you open the lift gate they will topple onto the ground and break. I destroyed an expensive telescope this way today. I am tired of it breaking my things and will sell it asap. Just plain had enough.

Great mid size SUV

If your needs are for mid size utility, not just an all wheel drive sedan with a hatchback, this is an excellent vehicle. It has the same motor as my Tundra did and tows almost as well. Handles the parking lots great and fit and finish are all Toyota

This is our first Toyota 4Runner and so far we love it. It's amazing how much reliability, performance, and luxury we're getting for the price. We bought it towards the end of Q1'07 when toyota was trying to beat GM in number of sales, so we got a pretty good deal. Granted fuel mileage could be better, but hey, with all the other features we're getting, we can't complain.

This is my 3rd 4Runner and we are preparing to purchase another one this month. It has good power - an absolute plus. Only downside is that it totally lacks any design/sex appeal. This is truly minor as the drive more than makes up for it. I just wish they would offer more colors and/or send the Salsa Red to south Florida. :-) I Love driving this vehicle.
