First of all, I am Mr. BMW who traded in a 1997 BMW 540i 6-speed manual for my new Scion tC. I am not only enjoying the european/japanese feel of this car, I am getting better gas mileage and love the looks of it. Everyone checks this car out and they have all the reasons to! It has a great look to it on the outside and all the features, fit and finish and comfort on the inside! By the way, I am loving the upgraded leather. MP3 is awesome!

Awesome Car, two notes

I've had my tC since November and have racked up the miles. It's performed wonderfully, was a huge bargain, and continues to delight. Two notes: some folks complain about the "cheap" sunroof shades. Hello! They're retractable/roll-up fabric b/c you're getting TWO sunroofs! Also, some say the exterior resembles a Tiburon crossed with a BMW. I urge folks to compare the rear profile of the tC with that of it's predecessor, the celica. It's similar, at least to my eyes, though beefier!

pretty good overall

I have had this car for over three years and I feel I can make an adequate assessment of the vehicle. The car is not made of the best quality parts. The pain chips and the body dents easily. The gas mileage is OK, and I find it hard to believe the manual trans gets worse mileage than the auto. I take the car in every 5k for oil changes/maintenance and have treated it well. The hatchback rattles like crazy in 40 or below weather and the hatchback struts gave out on me after about a year of having the car (not covered in the extended warranty). You feel every bump on the road, but I guess that is due to low pro tires. It is slippery in the snow, but handles well in rain. Great CA car!

It is not a sports car, so if that's what you need, turn around and read reviews of the 350z. Now, its a great car. 100,000 miles, and no repairs, only maintenance. I love it. The 5-speed manual is very quick and smooth engagement of the gears, easy release clutch. Sound system is AWESOME! Its got everything you need, its a great car, with Toyota quality, and its not on the recall list, because its made in Japan, where the Toyota reputation was made.
