Macan GTS is NOT an SUV
An SUV has no right being as much fun to drive as the Macan GTS. Do not think of this as an SUV. It is sports car wearing a box on its head!

Not all I had hoped for
The first week of ownership now. I’ll submit another review in a few months once I’ve had some significant experience. I was lucky to find one that was sensibly speced out and not loaded with frivolous (and expensive) options The delivery experience was great, shout out Suncoast Porsche. But when I decided to get to know it better, I went to the owners manual. Imagine my surprise when virtually every topic I wanted to explore told me to go to the digital manual. Thank heavens for YouTube. It covered all I needed. But c’mon man you can afford a decent manual. Most of my concern was with the PCM system. Compared to my 22 BMW it’s way behind and difficult to use. For this price one should expect a far easier and robust system. As to driving, it’s a Porsche, enough said. I did own a Macan Turbo + and this is not that fast but I’m ok with that. Aside from the PCM I’m pleased with having found a sensibility equipped true drivers car.

2024 Macan S The 'S' Stands for Sweet
My progression to a Porsche was eight years in the making. In 2021 I traded a '15 Infiniti Q60 drop top for a '21 Audi Q3 S-Line. Engineering, power, and features were all there, but missing something. In '23, I traded the Audi for a new Porsche Macan base model. What a step up it was. But still missing that 'something'. Fearing the introduction of the electric Macan would mean one of the three ICE models was going to become extinct, I traded again early in '24 for an 'S" model. Nothing more to say other than it is missing nothing. Before the first 500 miles had been clocked, if gentle on the little pedal on the right, I was achieving 23 - 25 MPG which can be attributed to aerodynamics, horse power, and torque allowing the engine to stay in the higher gears. However, let the ponies out of the corral and you will not be disappointed. The turbo four in the base model just had to work a little harder. As for fit, finish, and comfort, I've not had anything that compares. The 21" wheels and tire combination, along with the 3-way shock absorber settings, give a ride that compliments the 375 HP in whatever driving mood you're in. The exhaust note is nothing but pure luscious music to my ears. Not a single doubt or regret in my view - buy an 'S' if you can find one.

Poor quality and unreliable
I am warning you that Porsches are not built well. If you buy one make sure you get an extended warranty and definitely trade it in before the warranty expires. Our Macan has spent more time at the dealer than in our own garage and Porsche doesn't seem to care. I should have known better when I popped the hood and saw all those cheap plastic components everywhere! We will never buy another overpriced Porsche again!
