Sleek…fast….cabriolet
Amazing car…handling and driving makes me smile every time I take her out. Everything works which is phenomenal doe a car that’s 19 years young.

Best priced Generation
Recently acquired a 2002 C2 Cab, the 996.2 generation. If you go back a few years to the air cooled 993 generation, your looking at more than double in cost. Jump ahead to 2005 and the 997’s your gonna pay 25k more. Is it because of the IMS bearing and RMS. I did not follow recommendation to have mechanic look at the car prior to purchase yet luck was on my side, took to mechanic to replace bearing and found out bearing went in 2014, engine replaced at 35k miles… 20k less than what the odometer read when I bought it. Replaced the rear main seal (was starting to leak), the water pump (original) and a few other minor items. Be prepared to spend a few K … an almost 20 year old car is going to need something, runs and drives amazing, Is faster, stiffer and quicker than the 993’s. Time will tell with future pricing

So fun
Engaging. Great torque and HP. Super fun to drive. Bonus is the cassette deck. I’m planning on doing some mods. The 996 seems like the car to easily make mods.

silver bullet= rattling beer can
This is a fast and capable car. I traded my 1995 for this vehicle. Mechanically this car is a better sports car. Quality is not good at all on the interior. Rattles all over the place The mechanics have spent a lot of time doing the interior produciton corrections that porsche should have done better at the factory. I do not expect a totally quiet convertable on 30 series tires, but clearly a 90K car should be better than this. The Boxters they have been nice enough to give as loaners show better interior quality control.
Pricey...but worth it!
Waited years to own one...it's been worth it! Power range is remarkable..Variocam system allows engine to pull like a freight train right up to redline. Handling is nimble, steering quick and light..brakes are outstanding, inspires confidence. Gearing allows plenty of pull/passing power even in 6th. Flawless so far. Tends to burn oil more than most cars (1 qt. per 800 miles..the $5 a quart stuff..) Back seats are handy for kids <10 years old...adults, forget it!
