My time with a Kicks
I dont own a Kicks but I did rent one for a decent amount of time for travels all over the western US. I found the Kicks to be comfortable and pleasant to drive. It rode well over bad roads, handled fine in heavy rain, and even took it off road over gravel and dirt roads with deep sand and it pulled through just fine. The interior was nothing special, but not bad either and it was comfortable enough and we had more than enough space. Personally I had no problems with seat comfort even on 5-6 hour drives so I'm not sure where the complains about that come from, the entertainment system worked well, and we had plenty of room for coolers, suitcases, and everything else we needed. The brakes, steering, and handling were all good, and I thought it drove very well. The CVT transmission was a big step up from some others I have driven from other manufacturers. The engine was nothing to write home about, it was smooth and quiet enough, but seriously lacking in power at times. Driving through the mountains at high elevations had my foot flat on the floor many times. Passing someone was out of the question and just keeping up with traffic took a bit of effort depending how hilly the roads were. Down at lower elevations around town however, there was plenty enough get up and go. You certainly arent going to win any races, but it was plenty adequate. Gas mileage was outstanding for a small SUV. I was seriously impressed by how well it did, way better than I ever expected. Even when the gas gauge got low, the smallish gas tank made filling up a lot less painful than it could have been. Overall, this is a pretty solid effort from Nissan. I just wish the engine had been a little more powerful, that was really my only complaint. At this price point, I'd say this is a really good value and worth checking out.
Malfunction Rear Sensors & Rear Automatic Brake
2023 Kicks SV is Affordable and spacious. Dashboard Warning appeared on dashboard within four weeks after purchase. Rear sensors not operable. Received diagnostic trouble codes C1B56-04 and B2720-66. Attempted to receive diagnostic test and repair four times from two different locations. Received more assistance from dealership other than the one I actually purchased my vehicle. Both dealerships stated they need to keep my vehicle for 1.5 days to complete testing. Both dealerships continued to state wires were damaged by rodent in March. There were no rodent or any other damage. Vehicle is defective. Two other 2023 Nissan Kicks SV purchased from same location are experiencing same problems. One of the vehicles also have problem with the horn. Nissan will not repair problem with my vehicle and one other one I mentioned. Now I understand why same vehicle was brought in for trade-in the day I purchased mine. Unfortunately, I didn't research before purchase. Everyday error warning messages appear on my dashboard after starting my vehicle. The Nissan Kicks is flawed by design. I noticed black tape was used to wrap many wires. Based on research many, many people are having problems with sensors, either front or rear and automatic braking system. DO NOT BELIEVE a rodent or bad road damaged your vehicle. Problems you are experiencing are due to defective manufacturing. More people need to come forward to describe problems they are experiencing. Nissan needs to do the right thing by issuing a recall on defective vehicles. Various vehicles are defective according to research going back to 2015. People, please report problems you are experiencing. This is an electrical problem which may become worse over time. All three Kicks were purchased at Thomas Nissan, Joliet, Illinois.

Ok, but underpowered and MPG is marginal
Pro: Decent front and rear seating space; adequate cargo space; hatchback is a plus. Con: lack of power causes sluggish acceleration, also limits mileage to drop when speed exceeds 65 mph. Owned this car for three months. We exclusively own Nissan vehicles (3 currently and 10 in the past 30 years. My wife likes small cars, and likes the cameras and other safety features on the Kicks. I’d call this a good car, but the lack of power is apparent, and you should bear that in mind when considering a Kicks purchase or lease.
Great vehicle!
I traded in my 2014 Lincoln MKZ Reserve for my 2021 Kicks SV Special Edition. It has tonnes of room and is alot of fun with great tech (automatic high beams, crash protection, etc) (though I wish Android Auto and Apple CarPlay worked in Bluetooth rather than cable connected) and fuel mileage (mileage being the reason for dropping the MKZ). For the price, it's an amazing car! For 121 hp, it's remarkably responsive... Though it could use a few more horses to assist with quick acceleration. Overall, the value is phenomenal!

Great Car - Seven Month Update
I now have almost 2,000 miles on the car, and I still I enjoy driving it. I don't think the acceleration is slow. I think the car is fine for expressway driving. I have no trouble getting up to speed on the expressway ramp. I get excellent gas mileage: 29-34 around town and 39-43.8 on the expressway. The driver's seat is comfortable. I love the cargo space in the back. I can fit a month's worth of groceries in the cargo area and still have room to spare. I like the electronic parking brake. For the first time ever on a car, I always use the parking brake. The car is roomy and attractive. The visibility is great. The drive is extremely smooth for a small car. The rear camera helps me center the car better when I park. I enjoy listening to Frank Sinatra on the Sirius radio. The sound quality is excellent even without the Bose option. The manual heater warms up the car perfectly, better than the Climate control on the SR. The air conditioning worked fine this summer. Only time will tell if with regular maintenance the transmission will hold up and the car will be reliable. All I can say is that after seven months, the car is still fun to drive. I have experienced no problems with it.

Pretty Kicks
The scarlet ember paint with the super black paint really stands out. I’ve always averaged over thirty miles to a gallon and even a high of forty on the highway. Plenty of storage space in the inside also adds th the pleasure of owning the Kicks. Now that I’ve had the Kicks almost three years and 19,000 miles I still haven’t had no troubles and I have zero complaints, I love my little Kicks!!!!

I got my Kicks twice
What better compliment to a manufacturer in owning a vehicle than to purchase the same vehicle twice. I ran across my first Kicks SR with the SR Premium Package in 2019. I researched 8 different Manufacturers and 14 Different Models before going to the dealership. The Kicks fit all my needs and had many more features than the other models. There are 3 trim levels (S, SV & SR) with one Package (SR) and several options. Every trim level is great for what you get. I say get the trim that best fits your budget because even the S trim is a good deal. A great first car! In 2022, I wanted to update with newer features and I already knew I wanted the exact same vehicle. I love everything about this vehicle. I wanted a Sub-Compact Crossover that got good gas mileage. This one says 31 city/36 hwy and 33 combined although I got 40.2 MPG. For a small engine it has enough go power for me. On the highway it's easy to do 80+ MPH without realizing you are driving that fast. It's fun to drive and has a sport mode that I notice it's a lil more responsive. For a small CUV it has plenty of room for four adults, but seats 5. I like the front seats and especially the pump handles to raise the seat. It's easy to get in and out. The Kicks is all about safety from the multiple air bags to Forward Collision with Pedestrian crossing, rear traffic alert, blind spot alerts, automatic breaking, lane departure, high beam assist, hill start assist, electronic brake, rear Sonar, remote entry, keyless entry, auto on/off Headlights, day lights (SR) back, tilt/ telescopic steering, Bluetooth, hands free calling, VDC, traction control, back up camera (4 surround cameras on the SR), 7" drivers assist display, rear door alert, intelligent cruise control, heated remote mirrors, rear wiper and sun visor with extensions. Other features (by trim level) are Apple/Android Auto with navigation, Pandora, Spotify, weather, 36 preset channel radio (SR) with a touchscreen, USB ports, cup/ bottle holders and A/C. The SR offers additional features like LED Headlights, taillights and fog lights. The best part is the addition of the SR package 8 speaker Bose Audio with 2 speakers in the driver's Headrest, Permatex interior, rear Spoiler, WIFI Hotspot, remote engine start,17" wheels, heated seats and heated steering wheel, a security system and a rear cargo covers. I added Illuminated Kick Kick Plates, 20 color interior light in the front foot well, door pocket lights, carpet Mats, auto dim rear mirrors with Programmable Garage Door Opener.

Get Your Kicks
I visited several local car dealers trying to find a hatchback to my liking which didn't break my bank account. I carry at lot of items and I don't like straining to place items into a trunk that has a very narrow opening, my current vehicle. Some dealers had no inventory and/or a couple months delay before getting inventory. Others, the mpg, design, and/or pricing was out of my range. I test drove the Kicks. It is elevated above the ground and the seat elevates more so you have a clear view of the road/vehicles ahead. The test drive was enjoyable. The acceleration was moderate, but smooth. The city mpg is listed at 31 mpg and hwy at 36 mpg, both excellent. It is a stylish vehicle, pleasing to look at. It has all the features inside that I find useful. If you test drive a Kicks, I do believe you will like the vehicle. My sales person, Bryan Ealy, was one of the best I have encountered over the years, no pressure, just very helpful in answering all my questions.

Got in just for kicks....
Our 2023 Kicks is a great gas saver. We get 38.5 mpg using simple math, however the dash reads a mile less. Don't drive it like you a race car and it will perform well. The CVT is smooth and quiet. This SUV will provide year of good service, just don't drive it like you stolen it.

Why spending extra for luxury safety features !
With base trim, Reverse braking, parking sensors, blind spot with rear cross traffic alert and much more plus class leading fuel economy. Surprised with this price !! Also cheapest car to lease for 24 months. I couldn’t find any car for 24 month lease with this price even cheapest Mitsubishi mirage monthly lease payment is more.

Sassy little SUV
Looking for a smaller SUV that handles well, and gets good gas mileage? The NIssan Kicks might be for you. WE were looking to downsize, but still have the handling of an SUV. The Kicks is that auto for us. So glad we moved to a slightly smaller SUV (we previously had a Santa Fe). Love my little NIssan.

My Nissan 2022 Kicks so far has been a good car with excellent gas mileage and runs so smooth
Death trap stay away from this vehicle
I hate this vehicle. It has tried to kill me several times. This vehicle has a manufacturer defect with the sensors and radars. My vehicle has came to a complete stop on the freeway on its own. My vehicle has tried to drive me off the side of the mountain. My vehicle is a death trap please don’t put your family in harms way. I have taken my Vehicle to the dealership several times only for them to tell me that they cannot duplicate the problem, but that there are several malfunction codes in the computer. Their Solution was to erase the codes and see if they come back on. This past weekend with the rain, all of my codes came back on. Each time the dealership has my vehicle I am without a rental car without a loaner car. All of that is my own expense despite the fact that my vehicle isn’t even a year old. Nissan has a horrible car with even worse, Customer Service. I have called Nissan consumer affairs multiple times and have had no help. If you want to be stuck with the car that tries to kill you that you’re still making payments on this is the one for you.

2023 nissa kicks
It's going to be one year and now after 6730 miles my nissan kicks terrible and turned off. This is the second time. I made a dealer appt so hopefully will find out soon. The check engine and oil light came on but soon after everything disappeared and started working as if nothing occurred. Rather disappointed since it's fairly new and low mileage. I also service it on due dates. I'm reading these reviews and I'm also feeling let down by the lack of responsibility nissan has with its vehicles.

❤️Love It❤️
I love my new Nissan Kicks! I love the look of it, it’s roomy and fun to drive!
A lot of car in a small package
I’ve read several “expert” reviews saying the Kicks was underpowered. That’s not been my experience. It’s not a esports car, but it’s got plenty of punch for everyday driving. The front has plenty of legroom. I’m 6’1”, and I don’t have the seats all the way forward. The backseat is small, but the only people that use it are my young grandkids. I’m currently averaging over 34 mpg. If you want a small SUV, you won’t go wrong with a Kicks.

Don't expect much when kicking the gas pedal
Driving from Phoenix to the Grand Canyon was a miserable experience in a Nissan Kicks. Traffic was flowing uphill at 80mph and the gas pedal had to be floored to keep up with traffic. Acceleration was turtle slow, even at city speeds. The lack of 4wd, adequate ground clearance and LT tires kept me from even trying some mild off roading around Sedona. The lack of a center console was annoying, and the seats were firm but unsupported. The amount of interior and cargo space were good for a compact SUV. The Kicks was very easy to park and maneuver, making it a good choice for an economical city car. Fuel economy was rhe strongest point, the gas gage went down slowly and only took 8 or 9 gallons to completely refill. Freeway and arterial driving around Phoenix yielded slightly over 50mpg. The Nissan Kicks is in no way an SUV, but it is a good choice for an economical city car.

This is a great car
The technology included, the ride and gas mileage make this car a standout. You can sense the engine is not as powerful as other cars; but I am achieving 30-35 mpg around town and on the highway.

Cute, but lacks power!
A small SUV, but lacks the power most other SUVs in same class have. It should have a 2.0L or at least make the 1.6L a turbo boosted engine. Rear lift gate is completely manual, which is a little inconvenient when used to power lifted and closure. There is no onboard Nav, even when purchasing the fully loaded SR version!! You have to use your cell phone to connect google maps. Overall ride comfort is good, but every bump is felt for sure. No front audible parking sensing, you have to rely on front cameras, which have to be selected to get a visual distance/proximity. Audio for collision warning is very low and hard to hear and no audio warning for blind spot sensing. Currently having an USB intermittent connection issue and supposedly a software update will fix that.Overall, a good economical car.

Missing some things
I’ve had my Kicks for a year now and in general I’m happy with it. However there are a few shortcomings. The TV screen is placed in such a way that it’s always washed out with glare. There is not an ambient temperature display and the headlights do not have an automatic on/off setting. Just some little things that most other cars have.

Kicks SR so far very nice affordable vehicle
So far I have really enjoyed owning my 2023 Nissan Kicks. The car handles very well. I am average height and maybe a little over weight but I do find the car comfortable. I needed a vehicle just for quick jaunts back and forth to work, however I have also taken it on vacation, that usually being an 8 hour drive, apart from limited cargo space the vehicle did superbly with both short and long runs. Must say I like the stereo, not the best but it's nice and I really like the heated steering wheel, first car I've had with one of these. I wanted a simple yet reliable car which gets good gas mileage and handles reasonably well, to date this car has fit the bill quite nicely.
