Used 2014 Nissan Frontier Consumer Reviews
This is a Powerful, Reliable Truck
This is the second Frontier I have owned. I have owned the Tacoma as well. They are both reliable and relatively powerful. The Frontier is more powerful than the Tacoma, at the cost of fuel efficiency. Value wise, the Frontier has an advantage for me. The difference in my experience is approximately 20% - a Tacoma equal to the Frontier in features will cost 20% more. If you choose the Frontier, you sacrifice 1-2 mpg, comfort in the rear seat, ground clearance, and a modern looking interior. I bought the SL model with leather seats, a moon roof, automatic headlights, upgraded sound, and navigation. BTW....the Rockford Fosgate sound system in the Nissan is the best I have owned. The sound is so good at loud volume. Regarding the ground clearance, I spent $1000 on a Bilstein suspension system to level lift the truck. It looks great - the stance is much more appealing and the ride is better. The truck now has a stance like the Tacoma. Off road, it performs very well, although I have not been challenged by conditions that would require skid plates. Those can be added, though, if I ever find time to do serious off roading.

So-far-so-good
This replaced my 2000 4x2 Frontier (I got from a friend after he adopted 2 kids and needed a vehicle that could hold multiple car seats :-) That truck ran great, good mileage, relatively low maintenance costs (except for the leaky fuel pump at 100k that cost $1100 to fix). After 800 miles, performance is very good (I'm not used to this much power), gas mileage as expected (4x4 not a winner there), comfort is good, interior features are generally good. Overall quite satisfied.

Great truck!
I had a 2004 Frontier king cab. It was spartan and handled kind of rough, but the thing was a tank and I had very little problems with it. I traded it in at a 170k miles. Having kids I knew I needed more of an actual back seat, I got a used 2014 Frontiet sv trim line crew cab. So far I love it! The V6 engine has great "gitty-up" and power. It's handling/turning may not be its strong suit, but it's a truck, not a sports car. Not sure this is most truck's strong suits. Overall I love the look of truck, sporty and brawny, while maintaining some refinement. Understand that this is a mid-size vehicle, so there are lots of bigger trucks with way more cargo and back seat space. But not wanting a school bus sized vehicle for a truck, this is a perfect size. Certainly if you do lots of hauling, especially heavy duty, look elsewhere. But for around town with some hauling, this truck fits the bill. Also some people knock the mpg, but again, it's a truck!

So far so good
Owned this truck 5 months. Took 5 months to learn you have to lock out OD if driving around town, otherwise constantly shifting up and down and will drive you crazy. Owners manual states this. Didn't see the OD button on the shifter for 5 months. Towed a u-haul trailer cross country with little effort. Like the power windows, locks and cruise control. Climate control works well. No transmission dipstick. Don't like that. Engine oil dipstick has too many bends and twists. Hard to get accurate reading. Accessing oil filter is a pain too. Plenty of power with the V-6. Overall happy with truck. Bought from a dealer for $14000 with 96k miles. Now has little over 100k. Likes gasoline.
