Beware!
Be cautious when buying a 2007 Mazda CX7!! While the car is flashy it has many issues with the motor. I have poured THOUSANDS of dollars into the engine. First the timing chain went, which equaled to rebuilding the whole top half of the engine. After the engine was rebuilt I was told that it would burn oil like a sieve, which is true and it for quite awhile leaked oil, which I also had fixed. Than a year later to practically to the day, the turbo went on the interstate!! I sat stranded for four hours while waiting to get towed (scary). It still smells like a snowmobile when I drive (the oil burning) and the gas mileage is no longer great. There now is a funny sound in the engine which I can not place, and the THIRD wheel bearing is going bad on the back passenger tire (same tire every time). I can not afford to turn over this car as I still owe money on it, and no one will give me what its worth. Whenever I call any garage to have the motor looked at or worked on, I get a lot of grief, and mechanics who wont work on it because the motor has already been torn apart and no one wants part of that mess... This car was my mothers day gift in 2015, happy mothers day eh?

Do Yourself A Favor and Buy Something Else!
Purchased new in March 2007. Constant CELs (check engine lights) from the beginning. I don't drive it much. Has less than 70,000 miles on it almost 10 years later. Just spent $2k repairing timing chain and oil control valve. Has needed prior expensive repairs related to the turbo engine. This is an old car but kept in the garage with VERY low miles. The oil is changed frequently, the maintenance is kept up. It should be a VERY good car at this point but it isn't. You will find yourself with expensive repairs if you buy this car. Researched online and many owners had a blown engine at 60-100K miles. Mazda stopped making them for a good reason. On top of that, whatever the advertised MPG is, is a lie. I get about 250 miles from a full tank of gas. That's about 16 MPG regardless of freeway or street driving. Yes, it's cute but the reality of owning it isn't.

2007 CX-7 AWD Owner with 82K Miles !!!!!!
The car (black) looks really sharp when it is cleaned up! Here (remember 82K and I have not treated this car well "maintainance wise" AT ALL. If you own one, follow my reasoning below I will give you the low down. Bought my 2007 Sport with maybe 12K on it in Ohio and currently it has 82K.
DESIGN FLAW WITH ENGINE
VVT, TURBO CHARGER, TIMING CHASITY AND AC have been replaced 2 times since 2008. do not waste your money or time on this vehicle regardless of how fun it is to drive
