1994 mazda B300
I have owned this truck for many years. It has over 350,000 kms or 217,479 miles. Never let me me down, i have replaced the brakes all around, have never had to replace the clutch, its still going strong. Really all i have ever done is regular maintenance.
'94 Mazda B4000 SE
This vehicle is extremely reliable, slightly under powered, and has a front drive axel design problem. After 10 years and 185,000 miles I'd gladly buy a new one if it were available.

Excelent first truck
Every kid or parent should consider this truck for his or her first vehicle. First off it is one of the most well built pieces of machinery I have seen on the road, truly built to last. With 112hp and 135ft-lbs torque it has excellent acceleration if you know how to drive it well. I have toped out speed around 105mph and I think it still had just a bit more power left in her. She will probably do 110 which is plenty fast for any truck. I have never had to replace a part on this truck and I merely do basic maintenance. Regular oil changes, fluid checks, tune-ups, spark plugs, filters, cables, etcetera, etcetera. Anyone interested in a small pickup I recommend u look at this one first.
Better than a Toyota
Quality and reliability are equal to Toyota and Nissan trucks I have owned, but size, utility, and comfort are superior.
Over 300,000 miles
Just passed over 300,000 miles with no major issues at all. Do I have to say more about this truck. I drive mostly highway, get 27 mpg. Just passed CA smog check and should go another 5 years more (I believe). Parts have been changed: alternator, crankshaft seal, catalytic converter, front/rear brakes. That's about it. Oil change every 5000 miles.
Best Used Truck out there
I bought this truck new in 1994 and it has never let me down. It gets 18-19 mpg combined city/highway driving. Anybody that claims 30+ MPG doesn't know what they're talking about. I will probably have to sell the truck because it barely passes NOx test every year. Other than that it's been a great vehicle and still runs like new. Oh yeah, this truck was made in America with an American engine. I will be sad when I have to finally sell it next year.
Timing belt breaks, engine is no good
I was beyond shocked to find out that my engine was no good after my timing belt broke. My 1996 Mazda B2300 SE extended cab pickup broke the timing belt at engine idle. The mechanic informed me that the 2.3 liter engines in these pickups are considered to be interference engines, which means when the timing belt breaks, the pistons will destroy the and bend the valves in the engine, making the engine useless.
Over 270,000 miles & still going strong
I have been very happy with my truck. I have had to only replace the clutch and the water pump, but with 273,000 miles on it that is to be expected.
Nice
I like the truck. It's powerful and stylish. There is one thing you all should know that in both rear fenders rust so I took it and had it fixed at an auto body shop. But over all every thing is comfortable and reliable.
THE BEST TRUCK EVER!
I LOVE my little truck, I have NEVER had any problems with it! It is the BEST investment I put into ever. The most money I have put into it was the price for it. No problems what so ever. Going on 116,000 miles and still ticking. Gas is great, speed is great...I would DEFINITELY buy a second one for my fiancée if I could.
Mazda B2300 Review
I've had this truck for 3 years. It had belonged to my son who needed a larger vehicle. He put 97,000 miles on it in 4 years. I've put 10,000 on it in 3 years. The only thing I dislike about it is the loss of power when I when the AC is engaged and the constant thump you get when the AC clutch engages. In my opinion, this is its only fault. It has been and continues to be an excellent vehicle.
Mazda truck
This has been a very reliable vehicle which I brought as an alternate vehicle for the winter to access my steep driveway in the winter. I once had a vistor who had a Nissan four wheel drive pickup that was comparable....and she got stuck....I was able to drive my mazda past her truck and then tow her to the top of my drive in 8 inches of snow on top of ice....
alot for the $$$
I bought this truck used about 2 yrs ago to tow my 17ft boat (2500 lbs). I had my doubts as to if it would have the power I needed. This truck has proven it's worth. Not only does it tow good but it actually drives better with the load. The truck is very tight and agressive to drive and the jump seats in the back are great for the kids. Knock on wood I have had no probs with it. The jump seats are definantly for kids only but they are fine for my 10 and 6 yr olds to make a trip to the lake. I do get a howling noise that nobody seems to be able to find. I'm not too concerned because I think it's a exhaust prob not drive train.
Simple truck but it works great!
i bought this truck new in 1994. today, i have put 288K miles on it, YES. this truck is simple, but it has been working great since day 1. No major issues at all on engine & transmission. i could not ask for much at this point, this is the best investment i have ever had. just put gas and start the engine and go. that's all i will say about this little simple truck. it's simple and no trouble.
Good truck
still drives like I just purchased it. Gets up t[o 29 mpg. Love my truck Rides like new also. New let me down starts every time. Always there. Rides like new.
Good performance, value.
I bought it new and it has been a very good truck. Nice balance of price + performance, affordable but comfortable. Ride is truck-like when unloaded. I replaced the stock (premium) stereo and speakers, which lacked clarity. This truck is really a Ford ranger, with Mazda trim. The only repairs I had were a bad 02 sensor and EGR sensor at about 60K miles. The brake calipers tend to bind, and had to be rebuilt twice. A 4.0L with only teens for MPG should put out more than 160HP. 225 ft/lbs of torque is nice for towing, but acceleration is just ok. I modified the exhaust/intake and put in a better cam. Now it is quite peppy, maybe 190-200hp.
Luv my B4000
This is a two wheel drive, with limited slip, and a cap on the back. In the winter I put 3 or 4 sixty lb bags of sand over the rear axle, and I get everywhere I need to go. Only unusual maintenance has been replacing spark plug wires, twice. Have 135000 miles, and I don't want it to ever quit, my favorite vehicle in over 40 years of driving.
1994 B3000
I enjoy driving this vehicle. Feels very sturdy. I was worried about gas mileage because of bigger engine but this does very well. Smooth ride overall.
Bulletproof Truck
I bought it used. has over 235000 miles on it. This truck is so fun to drive. It has power and good mpg.I have done brakes and a hanger bearing for the driveshaft. It will go anywhere that I ask it to go,from beach to mountain. It has the Cologne, Germany-Ford engine. It is unbelievably smooth.5 speed manual tranny. Hydraulic clutch. I'll probably drive it until its nuts rust off. (My 2018 RAM sits in the driveway due to it's 14mpg)

happy so far...
I bought my truck used from a dealership. At the time I had two young boys and needed an extended cab to keep up with our always going somewhere outdoors life. This truck with the V6 has done everything I have asked from it. I don't pull a trailer, but rather put a 9' boat in the bed (slight overhang). I have had only a few glitches as far as repairs, that is to be expected in a truck with 139,000 miles. I believe that proper scheduled maintanance is a big reason for this B3000's happiness to keep rolling. I have had many Mazda's and will not hesitate to get another one.
Best 1/4 ton ever
This truck keeps going and going. Mine has 170 000 kms on it now, and other than oil changes, the only repair I ever made was brake pad changes. The truck is small a good on gas - but it is still powerful enough to pull a boat or ski doo. What more could you ask for?
good truck
had the truck for 6yrs and put 100,000km on it and besides changing tires, brakes, battery and recently ball joints and flex hoses i only had to change the fan motor harness(only worked on high)doesn't burn oil at all and still has original paint.good on gas too i get about 30mpg.
200,000 and the air still works
This was the first vehicle I bought and had payments. I just paid cash before and took my chances. I have driven this truck across the country. I have used it as a delivery vehicle on more than one job. I have moved in it 12 times, not to mention the others I have moved. It has been through 3 relationships, 6 jobs and one 16 year old boy for 3 months. I have pulled a 1991 Eclipse from Shreveport to Dallas with no trouble. I love Trixy! I did replace the tranny in 1996. The center console lid won't stay latched and the black on the dash has chipped off a little, and there's a worn spot on the drivers seat. At least 40 Oil changes, a couple tuneups tires and 200,000 miles later, it starts every day and the air works!
excellent truck
Fun truck to drive. The 3 litre engine is surprisingly powerful. It's hauled pretty much everything from gravel and interlocking bricks to 2 snowmachines on a trailer. Great little truck. The wheel wells of the box have succumbed to rust, the battery is held down with a bungie cord and the heater only works on high but still a fun truck to drive. Very few problems mechanically. Brakes only changed twice with over 270,000 km (~160,000 miles). A little squirrelly when driving on snowpacked roads.
Best simple truck
This is the best truck for the price. With 380,000 miles on it, it's still running strong. No major issues at all, just keep up with the regular maintenance then you will not have any problems. Parts are cheap and many DYI's you can do.

More Reliable & cheaper to Operate
I currently have 159,000 miles drives like it did the first day I had it. Gas Mileage about 18 flat. Only flaws false reading on oil and temp, sometimes wipers come on. Built solid. Have had no problems mechanically
Mazda B4000 1995 4.0L
Very reliable, gas mileage 18-19 mpg, Had some electrical issues in interior.
Great little pickup
I bought this truck from the first owners son. He had drove it while in the military that brought him through 3 states around the country. It had 114k on the clock, and I've put another 60k since. The only trouble the previous owner had was a worn clutch, and the usual maintenance. Same here, w/ a timing belt at 160k. I can't complain much, except about the usual complaints for this model year for the B series Mazda and Ford Rangers. Mysterious electrical problems, that can drive you a little crazy! And underpowered 2.3l engine. But the pluses outnumber the annoyances. If you get her right? Buy it. You won't regret owning this baby.

Mazda B4000 LE Super Cab
Incredible capacity for such a samll truck. I carry 1500 lbs in the bed and it will still do 107 MPH. Good Handling. Great gas mileage of about 21 MPG. Very agile sterring, comfortable seating.I enjoy it more than my $45000 Ford Excursion that I traded in for it.
B4000 LE
I bought this truck with 17,000 miles on it, and it now has 96,000. Other than normal maintenance, I haven't had to make ANY repairs to this truck. Very well built and very reliable. This is my 2nd Mazda B-Series truck - first one was a B2300, this one a B4000. Very impressed by both. My only 2 complaints- I would like to see better gas mileage (4.0L V6), and recently there is a slight transmission slip between 2nd and 3rd gear on the auto transmission.
Everything You Could Ask
Though I have only owned my B4000 for a few months, I love it! I did my research based upon these types of reviews and then went shopping to find a used truck. It took a while but when I found my B4000 LE I jumped on it. It performs just as others have claimed. Basically, works as advertised and then surprises you with a little more.
Great little pickup
Although occasionally coming across mechanical problems, it was nothing that ever couldn't be fixed with spending a minimal amount of money. Great drive.
This truck will last
I purchased my Mazda B4000 when it was 2-years old. I have had no problems with it other than simple, cheap fixes that are standard with the vehicle, and it is now 2002. The truck accelorates more than powerful enough (you might spin your wheels from time-to-time!), and the AC will freeze you to death. I live in NC and I have driven to Florida, Texas, and West-Virginia in my truck, and I didn't worry one bit about not making the journey. I now have 170,000 miles on the truck. I plan on keeping this truck until the wheels fall off, which at this rate, won't be for another 20 years. I love this model/year truck and would recommend it to anyone.
Not particularly pleased.
The biggest problems I have had with this vehicle have been. -Radiator -Breaks -Air Conditioning -Uneven tire ware due to inability to aline properly. -Transmission needed replacing @ 95k miles
Mazda B-3000 single cab SB
The man I bought this truck from was a complete liar. I was mislead when I bought the truck, then everthing broke on it. The truck was fun to drive, but the fuel econamy was not to great. The truck was also very unreliable.
blue review
I really like this truck. It has been very reliable so far. It has 107,000 miles on it and still has most of the factory installed parts. I wish it had a little more power though.
The Money Pit
Stay away from this one. I have owed this truck for 4 years and have had nothing but problems. I have spent over 4000 dollars on repairs to this truck in the time I have owed it. The four wheel drive system is the worst design ever and plan on going through brake pads every 20000 miles.
Great Little Truck
I have loved this truck for 8 years now. Though it has now over 100,000 miles and is still running great. I am ready to upgrade to a larger truck as I am a larger man. Just keep up with the maint. and it will problably run forever.
10 year Mazda B-3000 owner
Basic pickup, small and cramped inside but, i've more than got my money out of this truck. I've put over 230,000 miles on this truck and it still runs good and uses very little oil.
Fantastic Truck
I love this truck! I bought it in Jan of 2002 with 98,000 miles on it. I put 25,000 miles on it in the following year and have been nothing but pleased. I did have to have the clutch worked on which set me back about $500, but that has been the only maintenance in over 28,000 miles. This truck is fun to drive, does great in 4WD, has enough room in the extended cab to either store a lot of gear, or take two people on a short trip. Would definitely buy it again if given the chance. Also seems to have more cab room than the Tacoma.

My Humpty Dumpty
No where does it say that Humpty Dumpty is an egg. Having said that I will tell y'all , she has 334.500+ miles on her. She runs great. Original motor original transmission. She's a 5 speed so yes basic maintenance has been done. Clutch and all that stuff but besides every vehicle maintenance this girl is good. I absolutely hate one thing tho. She has not enough weight in the back end and wet grounds and no weight equal having to deal with spinning tires when stopped and on a slight incline.

The P.U. good for life!
A1994 Mazda B-4000 L.E., with 139K miles, the last year of Twin I beam suspension. Rides like a Lincoln, pulls loads like a Duce and a half. The perfect vehicle, rain or shine. The only real problem was the power door locks, they quit, but I know how to use a key, so be it. My truck gets an honest 21 mpg on the interstate @ 75mph, and 17 around town. Use clean filters, good oil and don't cowboy the tranie, and I bet she will outlast me. Best vehicle I ever owned, and that goes back to 1958!

Takes a licking and keeps on ticking
It has a few quirks but this little truck has never left me stranded. It's got between 250 - 300k miles on it.(odometer quit at 177k ). It's been in a few minor front end bangs but drives and runs fantastic. Love it!!! Looking for another one. This little truck has been the BEST vehicle I have ever owned. Bought a brand spanking new S-10 in 1993 and it couldn't even make it to 100k before it started falling apart. Ranger drivers for life.

a surpprisingly well built truck
I have had my truck 5 years now and it still runs and drives like new.The 2.3liter engine has adequite power and awesome gas mileage.Other than preventive and regular maintnence,I have had few problems.I would recomend this truck to anyone.
One great truck
This truck has been through a lot with me. So much in fact I can't bear the thought of giving her up. She has been a tough little machine with minimal maintnence concerns.
The B2300 wishes it could be a truck
I bought this vehicle with only 10 miles on it and I am approaching 98000 so I know the full history of this truck. First of all, I have had numerous electrical problems (i.e. wipers come on whenever, brake light stays on, engine light stays on) due to the heater overheating the wiring. The power of this make/model is also less that desirable. It drives fine as long as you are on flat roads or going down hill. Up hill is a different story. I would not recommend this automobile to anyone.
It's STILL fun to drive
I have owned this truck since it was built. It now has over 192000 miles. I bought it stripped - with no options. It runs great and is fun. It has had only minor problems (which from its age and mileage one would expect). I drive it now mostly as a winter vehicle. Still it is fun to drive. At present my "Summer" vehicle is in the shop. It figures that this truck is more reliable than my Summer vehicle (which is newer with tens of thousands fewer miles). Bottom line: I love this truck.
MAZDA truck
The truck still runs great. It has travelled across the counrty several times. It has been relatively cheap to maintain.
