Bought our 2015 Mazda 6 touring edition new, a year ago from Cory Fairbanks - Orlando. Wife and I just returned from a 1 month/8000 mile road trip from Florida through Chicago - Montana - Colorado - Texas. Great ride - Comfortable seats(no back aches or leg cramps)- Outstanding performance and handling through out the Rocky mountains most notably on the "going to the sun road" in Glacier National Park - car was great but wife squealed a few times. Several states have 80 mph speed limits, and I used every bit of it. Car hugged the road and handled great even loaded down with a ton of camping gear. We got very good gas mileage and appreciated the different gauge settings to see current and total mpg. Sorry to read a couple of other reviews where people are having a problem - So far we have not had any problems(knock on wood). **** UPDATE****Wanted to LEAVE previous review! 2 years later - 60000 miles - several more large road trips - same can be said for performance!!! Very pleased with vehicle and the service we receive maintaining it!!! ZOOM ZOOM! I think they have designed and built a very good vehicle at a reasonable price. I would and have recommended this car to a friend. We like the car so well - I'd bet Mazda will wish they hadn't given us a lifetime warranty. Dec. 2018. We are putting on the miles with quite a few road trips - now at 85,000 miles/32.7 mpg in 3 yrs. It is a very comfortable ride and we are enjoying this car a lot. No problems so far. Zoom - Zoom.

I've had my 6 for 10K miles and am pretty satisfied so far. The car handles great with flat cornering and electric steering that could pass for a decent hydraulic unit. The acceleration is a bit lethargic off the line, but it has a sweet spot that allows good passing once past 20-30 mph. Beautiful design inside and out and Mazda provides allot of content for the money. Fuel economy is outstanding with around 32 mpg for my commute which is 60% 75 mph highway and 40% thick traffic. Use of regular fuel is nice, also. No rattles or issues of any sort. Updating this at 2 years and 28K miles. The 6 has been flawless and is still tight with no rattles, etc. Averaging around 30 mpg. There is not much bad to say about the car, other than I would like more power but it really is adequate for 90% of my driving. Additionally, the OEM Dunlops are almost shot and I won't be getting them again. 40K mile update. 0 problems with the vehicle. No squeaks or rattles and the interior has held up very well. The front end has lots of stone chips, but that may be more due to the roads. Still averaging around 30 MPG. I got 35K out of the Dunlops and now have Continentals which I hope last 50K miles. 50K mile update. I had to repair the front door speakers that had some corrosion due to moisture, but that was fixed with silicone caulk which is good because new ones are quite expensive. I replaced the front brakes at 50K and this has been it. Still no rattles and the leatherette seats look great despite having a kid in the back. MPG might be down a bit to around 28 or so, but maybe that's due to the horrid traffic around here. I am very happy with this purchase so far and hope to keep this car for a long time. 60K mile update - Still running perfectly with no rattles, etc. Interior plastics on the lower door appear to be fading somewhat and front end covered in stone chips. I'd advise getting a protective film applied when new. 81K mile update - No problems. The only expenses have been oil and filter changes, brakes and tires. Runs perfectly and interior is holding up quite well. 90K mile update - Got a small tear in the passenger seat, but otherwise holding up well. Changed the plugs and they looked to be in good shape so the engine is running 100%. The shape and driving dynamics are still appealing and I plan on keeping this car for many more years.

I love my 2015 Mazda 6 Grand Touring with ieloop. Great handling and very responsive. Tons of safety features, which won me over. The Mazda 6 is very comfortable and gives you somewhat of a sporty feel. Touch screen is a little dated but all in all a fantastic car with great gas mileage without being a hybrid. I chose this car over the Mercedes CLA250. It's absolutely exceptional with huge trunk space. Test drive one and you will see for yourself.

After 2 years plus of ownership the car had zero mechanical or electrical issues plus Gas mileage is great but when it comes to wear and tear you can tell that it was built with cheap materials and the quality control was marginal. Going over bumps and u can hear noises just like in a 10 year old car . The paint is easily chipped and the cabin trim shows a lot of wear and tear even though I take good care of the car. Resale value is below average. I give it a C grade. This is a beautiful affordable sedan. It has character and the ride quality is not bad even with the 19" wheels. It looks and feels upscale inside a out. I got it with the Sunroof and Bose package which is a must for this car. The Stereo sounds amazing. The car feels safe and stable. Update: Traded in this car for a 2018 Nissan Maxima. There were quality control issues with the front end. Even though I bought it brand new and never had an accident it was making noises when going over a bump since day one and the dealer never fixed it. So before it got worse I got rid of the car. The rest was OK . I don’t miss the underpowered engine but I do miss the fuel economy

I got the 2015 Mazda 6 Grand Touring in red, black leather interior with contrast stitching, Tech package and with mats, bumper applique etc. MSRP was $33.4k, got it for $30.7k and leased it for $370/mo with no down for 3 yr/15k lease. Now to the actual review of the car. The car just looks gorgeous and I always wanted a red car. The engine is under-powered, but the i-eloop gives great gas mileage (40% hwy/60% city = 33 mpg). The ride is a little harsh, especially for people in the back, the 19" low profile tires are overkill in my opinion. Interior materials are top notch, seats comfortable and Bose sound system is good too. Steering is a little light for my liking but its smooth.

My 2015 Mazda6 is one of the finest cars I have ever owned. First things first; the car is stunningly beautiful and is unlike the plain vanilla and overly conservative, "front-runners" in this segment. That means you Toyota, Honda, etc. Mazda has done a superb job in bringing this car to market, especially after becoming independent again. It's light, fuel-efficient and a joy to drive. Sure it won't win many drag races or handle like a Porsche, but that's the point; it's a family sedan with real personality, and soul for that matter - how many Japanese sedans can you say that about? It's design and powertrain are innovative and make up a whole, greater than the sum of its parts.

Mazda 6 Sport 6-spd manual

I was down to the 2 sportiest and reliable sedans- Accord vs Mazda6. I wanted a manual and unfortunately the Accord Sport only comes in gray and black. I saw the Soul Red 6 and fell in love. The Accord had a more spacious cabin- the 6 has more dramatic style which cuts out space- but I'll deal with it- rather stand out on the road and not be another suburban middle-aged man driving an Accord or Camry (no offense). It drives like a sports sedan- lots of fun. Manual shifter is amazing and excellent MPG's. Engine has a nice tone to it- more of a growl than a typical 4 cylinder engine. The ride is firmer- but I love it because it handles better- that's the trade-off.

I have had my Mazda6 for a month and a half now. I am, overall, very happy with the vehicle. I was leaning towards a Honda Accord because I have owned Hondas in the past, but I could not stand the CVT. This brings up my favorite feature in the Mazda: the automatic transmission - perfect, absolutely perfect. It is smooth and quick shifting, and always eager to downshift for more power. It is like it reads my mind and is always ready for the next move. It is, quite simply, the best automatic transmission I have ever experienced. The engine is smooth and powerful enough. I have not really measured fuel economy. The interior and exterior design are clean and un-cluttered.

I was looking for a fun car to drive, manual that could fit our family of five. Test drove many cars and decided on the 6. This car is not perfect, but it is an excellent car for this price point. The best part of this car is the drive. It feels and handles great, like you are connected to the road. The fit and finish on the inside are fantastic as everything has a really nice look and feel to it. Nothing fantastic, but everything is nice. On the outside, I think it's a beut...but that's my opinion. I've had it for 6 weeks now and am now averaging 33 mpg in mixed driving. Hard to believe! This car is what I was looking for.

At the end of my VW CC lease, I chose the Mazda 6 Touring with the 6 speed manual. Chose the Mazda for the manual, and didnt want a mid size sedan with a CVT transmision. Well put together inside and out. Trunk is cavernous and rear seats have great leg room. I have had problems with the touch screen as Edmunds suggests. MPG has been about 28 in mixed city highway driving. It's also a beautiful car BTW with the Deep Crystal Blue exterior.

Overall this is a great car. It's fun to drive, and it has a lot of features that come with a low price tag. I bought the package that gave me the 6-speed manual with leather, and the entertainment package. While it has a lot of great things to it, the entertainment system still seems to be a major point where Mazda saved money. There is a decent amount of lag between the use of the center console or steering wheel controls to the actual response on the unit. The leather also feels very thin. I don't think it's real leather, and I worry I'll puncture it. It still looks good though and a lot of people comment on how nice looking the car is. Transmission is superb.. shifting is smooth.

After over 9 years no repairs, no rattles. Just tires and brakes. Interior, control knobs etc holding up well and not showing wear. Still tight handling, fun car to drive. The car looks and drives small but is quite roomy. I needed a truck so traded it in. If you are buying a used car, a Mazda 6 is one to consider.

Wow! It's already been three years since I got my brand spanking new, right off the ship, 2015 Mazda 6 GT! In the past three years, the only issue I had was with the battery. My car has the technology package, it is equipped with the e-loop charging system, so we are not talking about the ordinary battery that you can acquire from any auto parts supply store. This specific battery costs $700!! It is pricey indeed! when the battery started giving warnings, the car was still running great but it was a matter of time before it would die on me. Although I had over 36,000 miles, Mazda replaced it free of charge!!! No other car manufacturer would do such a courtesy!!! And the battery came with 3 years warranty. I still get excited each time I get in the car!! -:) This is a type of vehicle that you would never get bored with. Mine has a "sport" mode too. Whenever I need a boost, for instance before crossing a street to get to to the other side, I push on the "sport" button right by the gear, and the car becomes a beast!!! It has so much more power on the "sport" but then, the gas mileage drops like a rock of course if I keep driving on "sport" mode. Get one, you will NEVER REGRET IT! I PROMISE! I bought my 2015 liquid silver Mazda 6 i grand touring with technology package the day before Christmas on December 23, 2014. I had to wait for it for over a month because they did not have it in stock and I wanted a brand spanking new Mazda which had not been test driven. So, as soon as the car arrived from Japan, I got a call from the dealer and I got my Baby! -:) Let me tell you: MAZDA 6 GT IS A FANTASTIC CAR!!! I got the top of the line model with all the bells and whistles. This car literally does everything (even the braking if you forget to hit the breaks!) except the driving part. I like all the safety feature and the cruise control with radar! January 22 2017: It's been about 3 years since I got my 2015 Mazda 6 GT with technology package and I am still loving it! This one time, active city break saved me an accident! I was in the garage of this one shopping mall, the car in front of was driving super slow looking for a parking spot most probably, I was right behind him. Since we were going really slow, I was checking my messages (which I should not have done!) and out of a sudden, the car stopped abruptly! I thought that I hit the car in front of me as I was so close to it! The car in front of me actually had come to a full stop and I did not realize that because I was checking my messages on my cell. Anyways, when I looked at the message board of my Mazda, it stated in orange letter that the city break was engaged. So, the tech package which I invested a little extra when I bought the car saved me a definite accident and thought me a good a lesson: PUT THE PHONE DOWN!! -:) Mazda 6 is truly an amazing vehicle! It's a big safe car with plenty of power, yet still gives me an amazing gas mileage. If you don't drive like a maniac and use the cruise control (with radar) on the highway, you will get an amazing gas mileage. 3/4 of my driving is on the highway, the speed limit is 70 miles an hour, I usually drive speed limit, sometimes I just go 5 miles over the speed limit and I get on average 33 miles a gallon! I fill up the tank once a week even though I have very long commute to work. Mazda really thought about every single detail when it built this car. Once, I had the car keys in my work bag and I decided to put my bag in the drunk so that it would be out of site on my way out. But I forgot that the car keys were in the bag! So, as soon as I put the bag in drunk and closed it, the car started beeping non-stop. Then, I quickly realized that I did have the car keys on me and the car still let me open the trunk, for which I was very thankful!! On both sides of the trunk, you have deep pockets where you can put a water bottle for instance and it won't bounce around. Those pockets are built of hard plastic so if let's say you place glass bottles full of liquid and those bottles break somehow, they wouldn't leak into the car. So, that's what I mean when I say Mazda thought about every single detail when it built this car. Everything is designed cleverly, these are just few things that I can think of. This is really AN INTELLIGENT CAR and it's a pleasure to drive it, especially on the highway! The only problem I had with the car was with the battery. Mine has a special battery since this car is equipped with e-loop system. A regular battery won't work on this car. Mazda was kind enough to replace the $700 battery absolutely free of charge and on the top of that gave me on the new battery 3 years warranty!! Try to get that from Ford and any other US manufacturer, it won't happen!!! In conclusion, I still HIGHLY RECOMMEND MAZDA 6 GT!! You really get THE BEST OF ALL WORLDS WITH THIS CAR for a very reasonable price, relatively speaking of course. I am planning to drive this car for at least another 7 years if not more!!!

Fun to drive even though it's only a 4 cylinder. At times I still miss having a V6 but the Mazda 6 is better than most other 4 cylinder cars. Great gas mileage. Averaged 32.8 miles per gallon on round trip from WA to Cali via Highway 97. Had 3k miles at the time. Nice look, love the Soul Red & Sand Leatherette. At higher speeds, it accelerates very well. Seemed kinda slow/stiff to get it moving on speeds lower than 35mph. But since I've gotten over 9,000 miles on it in 6 months, it has better acceleration on the lower gears and the sound is not so rough on the lower gears. Like it ironed out any rough patches after a few thousand miles.

Update- Jul 23. I just passed the 165k mile threshold. So I have put more than 100k miles on it since I purchased it used. I have had no major issues with it. My only issue is that like many direct injected vehicles, I do believe I'm getting some carbon build-up. I have had this car for a few years no. As I have gotten used to it, I must admit sometimes I do get tired of 'rowing' my own gears, for it is a manual transmission. So I now avoid rush hour, when I can. But on the open road, I love to shift. However, when I have jumped in the other car, which is a smooth riding, smooth cruising Sonata, in less, than 48 hours, I'm complaining to myself that this is 'boring'. So I hop back into the Mazda 6 and the grin comes back over my face. Accuracy- The Mazda 6 is slightly smaller than the Sonata, with more precise steering. So I feel like I have gotten into a go cart when I drive the Mazda and the steering takes me exactly where I am pointing it. Fuel Economy-With mixed driving I get about 29 mpg on the Sonata, with the Mazda I get more like 33 mpg consistently. As for highway traveling, the Hyundai gets me about 33 mpg and the Mazda gets me about 38. However, when I do a long highway trip and kept my speed around 65 mpg, I achieved almost 45 mpg in the Mazda. Just below 70 mph cruising, the car can easily do 40 mpg. That is almost hybrid car territory. Maintenance-In putting 16,000 miles on the car, I've spent about $1927.28 on maintenance. It is not because things have broken down. But since I purchased the car used, I wanted all fluids and maintenance as new. Meaning I replaced the coolant, the transaxle fluid, the brake fluid, air and cabin filters, turned the front rotors and put new pads on it. I also replaced the tires and tinted the windows. None of these things had to be done, quite yet. But I wanted to have piece of mind and I am now happy. The only thing left to do is add a new android head unit to replace the standard stereo. Compared to my 2004 Infiniti G35 that this car replaced. Well, it doesn't have the power and punch of that Infiniti, but it does handle a little better and it is more tossable. Also the Infiniti cost me more than $5451.30 in maintenance that was NOT pre-emptive, but because things kept breaking. The Toyotas and Hondas that I've owned have been the most long lasting. Whether this Mazda or the Hyundai will last as long is yet to be seen. But I've been pleased with the practical maintenance cost on both. The Sonata has only had $1171.96 in maintenance cost at 74K, so I'm happy with it too. I've spent about $3,500 on maintenance for the Mazda 6

This was my first ever Mazda vehicle. I needed a 4 door car that got good gas mileage and was reliable as I drive a lot and I also like to look good doing it. The style of the Mazda was perfect as was the estimated MPG's. I loved the performance of the car and thought it was a comfortable ride for the most part. I put 75,000 miles on it and only did routine maintenance and 2 recalls. I never got less than 32 MPG's average city/highway the entire time I had it. My biggest complaints were the drivers seat cushion flattening on the side from getting in and out and the blue tooth stereo has lots of connectivity issues. The 19" wheels on the touring and up models look great but their odd size made buying tires expensive and difficult to find. I got a flat one weekend while on a road trip and the nearest place that had a replacement tire was a Mazda dealership over 100 miles away. Aside from those minor inconveniences I was looking forward to seeing just how many miles I could get out of the Mazda when I found the best part of the Mazda was safety. I was struck by a distracted driver while sitting in traffic at approximately 50-60 MPH crushing me between the car in front of me and the car that hit me. Despite the car being completely wrecked I managed to escape with only minor cuts and bruises. When I was able to go to the wrecker lot and collect my stuff from the car I looked at what was left of my car and actually felt sad that I would never be able to drive it again. I am planning to buy another Mazda 6 as soon as everything is settled with the insurance company.

When you buy a house, there's always compromises. When you buy a car, it's usually the same story. This is the mid-size with the least flaws of any I've found. The car is second to only hybrids in terms of mileage, it has all the coolest techie features, and the car is a thing of beauty. Anyone looking at a Camry, Accord, Malibu, and so on should really take a test drive and fall in love.

Mazda6 continues to perform well at 118,000 miles. Still no mechanical or electrical problems. Last year replaced brake pads and rotors with non-factory parts. After about 4,000 miles the rotors were warped. Replaced rotors again with factory original parts and no issues. With current gas price at over $4.00 per gallon it is nice to have a car that looks great, is efficient and fun to drive.

This is un updated review based on having this car now for 7 months and 3600 miles. The exterior styling is still an eye catcher and the seats are comfortable with the right amount of support. The engine has decent power but could be better from 0-20 mph w/o being somewhat aggressive with the gas pedal. The Yokohama tires have good grip combined with the 17" wheels. Steering and suspension are responsive to every input so you can have fun taking corners or enjoy a smooth ride in daily commuting. The interior is simply laid out with good ergonomics, high quality materials and switchgear throughout. It's not a flashy interior, which is a good thing. This is a driver's car!

This car is stylish, great to drive, and the extra perks make it comparable to other luxury cars. The problem? I bought my 2015 MAZDA6 Grand Touring (with Technology Package, low profile tires, and remote start engine) in November of 2014. One month later the car died on me. What happened? The TPMS was constantly misinforming me of low tire pressure, but that wasn't the biggest issue. The big problem was the power control module dying. After a month of waiting for the part to come in I was finally given a substitution vehicle identical to my original car. This car, after 5 days of ownership, is also having the Tire Pressure Warning come on unnecessarily. Mazda has not been helpful.

Quiet, smooth riding car if you just ask

I am hearing impaired and need a quiet car. Many of the reviews on the Touring and Grand Touring models complain about a rough loud ride. I have found that most dealers are willing to swap out the 19 inch wheels for the 17 inch wheels for about $100 - (it should be free). You just have to ask. This tradeoff of performance for a quieter smoother ride is worth it. Once you take care of the noise, the car a great cruiser.

after only 35 months i had to get rid of the vehicle due to poor dealer support and mounting mechanical issues. driver seat bracket was starting to fail, dealer claims this is wear and tear and would not be covered under warranty. with 12,000 miles on odometer clutch was near failure. driver door seal had to be replaced 3 times. also not covered under warranty. and various other issues dealer refused to adress. but notably the fuel mileage never seemed to match what was on the sticker. always well below EPA estimates. i even went so far as to remove the spare tire and all dead weight using premium gasoline. i simply could not get the rated fuel mileage.

Update: Still great. No issues at all; no surprises. Very happy with my purchase, 3.5 years and 45K+ miles later. This car has surpassed all expectations. It is sleek and stylish; I get compliments from strangers. It is the most smooth-driving and responsive family car I've ever driven, by far. Hands down better than my wife's Camry which I drove for years, and the newer Camry's I test drove recently. It's also comfortable and convenient. Lots of leg room for passengers. The trunk is massive and uniformly shaped, with back seats that fold down almost flat (unlike the Accord's which don't fold down at all). Awesome gas mileage, despite the sportiness. Sports mode, which I usually think of as a gimmick, is actually really impressive and gives it even more kick.

One of the best cars I've owned. Great styling in and out. Quality interior materials. Fantastic mileage, getting high 20's in the city and high 30's on the highway on regular gas. Great handling for a midsize car, plenty of power for highway passing. Only cons, somewhat stiff ride, 19 inch low riding tires are overkill and contribute to stiff ride. A little slow from a dead stop, but after all it is a four-cylinder. Some vibration noise from engine on acceleration but tolerable. No temperature gage, and no compass. I got the car loaded and love all the extras. Great safety with blind spot and rear back up signals. I love the tracking headlights for going through corners at night. I feel like I am driving a much more expensive car than what I paid for it. I look forward to driving it every day! No problems so far; only two updates on software, one on tire sensor monitor and the other on Blue Tooth. I traded a 2006 VW Passat for this. What a difference. I will never buy a VW again; nothing but problems what a piece of junk. VW customer service stinks! After three years of ownership, excellent car, excellent reliability. Only complaints hard ride and a bit underpowered. Great handling and excellent mileage. Recently replaced original Dunlop tires with Continental Extreme Contact DWS. Excellent tire over Dunlop, better ride, better handling, and better traction, especially in snow. Put the same tires on my wife's Hyundai; incredible improvement over original Nexen tires. 2018 Mazda 6 is available with Turbo, big difference in power!

One year of ownership and I'm still loving this car. Saves gas and looks great. Everyone at work still compliments the car and is surprised it's a Mazda. I have my 6 in Soul Red (Touring with Tech Package) and it's a beauty to look at night and especially in the day when the sun is shining on it. It has a custom metallic red look to it when viewing at different angles. Handling is tight, direct, and responds right away compared to a Honda or Toyota. I don't like it when the steering feels loose. Step on the gas all the way down and the transmission responds very quickly. Acceleration is not that fast like a v6 (compared to my 05 g35 coupe) but is good enough for me to get on the freeway. There's some wind noise when on the freeway but turning up the radio makes it less noticeable. Interior is very nice and looks better than some luxury cars. It is roomy and has lots of soft touch materials. Doesn't look cheap and plasticky like the competitors. The layout of the interior is just right. Not a lot of small buttons cluttering the interior. Everything is placed right where it should be. Radio is okay just wished it had a 7" touchscreen like the CX-5 but everything seems to work fine. Bose audio system is not that loud. Voice activated commands are a neat feature but I've never used it so can't really comment on it. Seats are very comfortable. I don't have any discomfort on my commute especially while sitting in a traffic jam. Hopefully Mazda will come out with a Speed6 or or turbocharged 4cylinder in the future. I know my next car will be a Mazda again but for now I'm keeping this car for a long time. Pros: blind spot monitoring handling 19" wheels rearview camera with rear cross traffic alert bluetooth mpg armrest extends Cons: Radio is too small wind noise Bose audio system instrument/gauge colors is white. Looks too plain. Wished it had some more colors to it similar to an Infiniti or Acura. hp (A few more hp and this car will be even more fun to drive) Update 2018 : Car still runs great. Still getting compliments from people. Had rear brake recall done from dealership. Steering wheel leather is getting worned out. Going to re-wrap it sometime in the future. Maybe uggrade to a 2018 Mazda 6 turbo when car is paid off. Still deciding because I want to keep this car around till 200k miles.

I had been slowly looking for a new car when I happened to need a rental last year and was given a 2013 Mazda3. Mazda wasn't even on my list but after a half mile driving that rental, I was definitely impressed! I researched further, and test drove other cars (Toyota, Honda, Chevy) just to be sure. Those other cars were boring to drive, and just irritating. My main concern was access to the dealer which is a bit more of a drive but the service there has been excellent for routine maintenance so far. I liked the Mazda3, too, but for a little more money I get almost the same great gas mileage and a lot of extra room, plus a CD player which I wanted. Also, I like the seats better on the 6. Bottom line is, I love my Mazda6. It is a pleasure to drive with its sporty handling, responsive steering, smooth transmission, and excellent brakes. I frequently go up to the mountains in SoCal where my Mazda6 eagerly takes on the twisty roads at 8,000 ft. plus elevation. Hard to believe something so well put together and reliable can also be so beautiful to look at, but the Mazda6 really is all that! So practical, yet so gorgeous!! I have heard this car can be noisy but in my experience that is only on certain kinds of pavement. I think it's comparable to most of the cars in its class. One caveat, I would be sure to get the backup camera and blind spot monitoring, as it can be a little hard to see out when changing lanes or parking, etc. I would be in trouble without those features. At 13,000 miles I've come to depend on them. I do wish I could raise the seat another inch or so, and a deeper visor to better block the setting sun would be nice. But that's about it!

This is a wonderful car, especially if you like Mazdas. The engine while often criticized as 'underpowered' is plenty powerful enough to pass other vehicles and does well with everyday driving. It is well worth the 28/40mpg that you get from the engine. The suspension is a little stiff, but personally love it.

I've had this car since 8/31/14 and now have 15,500 miles. The exterior styling still looks as good as ever and the seats are amazingly comfortable with the right amount of support. Press the push-button start and let the fun begin. The engine has decent power, but 0-20 mph may require a bit more pressure on the gas pedal. NOTE: I installed a K&N Air Filter when my car reached 10,000 miles which slightly improved the performance in all situations. If you install this air filer you may experience a slight decrease in mpg (I am averaging 1 mpg less than before) but the trade-off for better performance is worth it. The tires have plenty of grip combined with the standard 17" alloy wheels. Steering and suspension are responsive to every input so you can have fun taking corners or enjoy a smooth ride in daily commuting. The interior is simply laid out with good ergonomics, high quality materials and switchgear throughout. It's not a flashy interior (which is a good thing). This is a driver's car!

The Mazda 6 is a great car. The exterior styling is very eye catching and the 19" wheels are beautiful. I purchased the Grand Touring because I wanted heated seats, however I had to get Nav, which I did not really need. The fit and finish is excellent and the handling is top-notch. Acceleration is decent and power is strong is you really hit the petal. The Engine is tuned for fuel economy so torque feels weaker at low speeds. Ride is firm, but I think it is actually comfortable. Agile and fun to drive are two words that describe the driving experience. The inside feels comfortable and upscale. I think this is a near perfect blend of economy and performance.

Personally speaking, my car appears to be a dud. I own a 2015 Touring Mazda 6 with the Bose and Moonroof package. I have taken it to my dealership a ridiculoys number of times with no success. My Tire Pressure Monitoring system has been 'fixed' multiple times. It threw another code tonight. After 'proper' recall fix. The driver seat is electric and makes the worst squealing sound like the motor is going out. I frequently can't get my car to lock and unlock. I've had issues with my paint including rail dust and flakes. The headlights make the most awkward line. The headunit frequently messes up and turns itself on and off. My car shudders when shifting gears occasionally or loses power all together. At an idle the engine tends to surge. It also makes a clicking sound. My list goes on and on. There are horrible blind spots. The brake pads wear unevenly. It is just frustrating to invest in a beautiful car for it to fall apart. My dealership is rude and unhelpful. This car has been in and out of the shop causing me to miss work and classes multiple times. I bought this car thinking I wouldn't need to worry about the maintenance as much as my 1994 Acura Legend. However, my 21 year old car proved to be more reliable. Be very wary of Mazda and their warranty issues. They require their technicians to duplicate issues before they will even look at records to see what the problem could be. Their technicians are very unskilled. I've even dealt with a regional rep who was the first half decent customer service person I dealt with. My car is still unfixed. This has been on going for MONTHS. It all begin before or right after 5000 miles.

For 2015 model and about 20000 miles my A/C has already stopped working. When I took it to service center they are claiming it's because the manufacture is not loading enough freon in the units since they couldn't find any leaks. Either way for Mazda to run into problems this early I am not looking forward to owning this car after 36000 miles.

This is the best Mid Size Sedan bang for buck

The main competition to this car is the Toyota Camry, Honda Accord, Ford Fusion, and Nissan Altima. In my opinion Mazda is better overall than all these cars. Mazda is by far the most sporty of all these cars. The engine is very responsive and it's fun to go wide open throttle all the time. Mazda has a kick down switch which downshifts when you got WOT for maximum acceleration. You can also turn traction control off for a slightly more responsive throttle. Engine revs up really fast and you feel the power quickly. The traditional transmission feels better than the CVTs on the Accord and Altima. You feel the gear shifts and can rev engine. Mazda's are also reliable. I have poked around the car a lot, and it is logically designed. Comes with skid pad for rust protection and aerodynamic efficiency. It's nice that you don't need to sacrifice fun driving for fuel efficiency because the Mazda 6 gets the best mpg of the bunch, while being the most sporty. Honda is good, but they are more expensive than Mazda. Honda is better than in terms of performance and reliability over Toyota and Nissan. So there isn't a reason to buy a Toyota or Nissan. And ford is just completely unreliable. They have had so many lemon cars from 2011 to 2014. I would not trust the reliability. Don't read just one review. Look up reliability statistics, performance specs, and many reviews. Looks at the prices in your location and decide for yourself. For most people, the Mazda 6 is the best option.

Ok, I was a jeep guy, but it was time for a change. So I bought this mazda. I love it, really do. Sport mode gives the extra oomph. The paddle shifters are not too bad; start off the car on 1st, instead of the 2nd gear on automatic. This allows for a more quicker acceleration. My gripe after 2000 miles is the paint job, it's very easy to chip.... And the touch up paint doesn't match very well at all. But hey, this is a cool car, and compared to the jeep, it's a different beast, and that is a good thing. I've driven Luxry cars, and this feels Luxry. Peace!

The car looks great. I got the soul red and can't beat that color. No issues with it mechanically or electronically. Just did a trip out west and averaged 40 mpg. I get 33 during my work week with mixed driving. Would I like more power yes but I will take the mpg's anyday. The only thing that needs attention is the GPS system. It is bad so I just use my phone. I would recommend this car to anyone.

mazda had a large number of complaints about the upgraded stereo, there was even an online petition about how bad this head unit was maybe the petition was turned off after 4000 signers, They stuck it right back into the 2015 model same problems. The thing is so bad that the unit is no longer in the 2016. I Have to crank my neck so much just to get into it , I how had a sore neck constantly. The AC vents for the driver are so badly placed that they are great at cooling your left wrist and right forearm but can't hit your face. They have also changed that on the 2016. The Ac unit is only so-so in the Arizona desert it can take 10 miles of driving to really feel like the car is cooling down. Traded the car in lost $9000 in value in one year. Hated the car. Will never buy a Mazda again. Tried them 3 times bad to only so-so cars. Bought a Scion one made by Toyota not Mazda. Have been asked to update my review it has stayed the same.

Great Exterior Design, Unpowered Performance

I have owned my 2015 Mazda 6 for about a year now. The exterior design and color (platinum silver) are stunning but the 4 cylinder engine woefully lacks the get-up-go you would expect in a car that looks this good. Recommend that Mazda offer a 4 cylinder turbo and/or V6 option in future models since that lack of power is a major disappointment. It also looks like the Mazda design engineers were going too much for the German "austere" stripped-down interior look in the 2015 model which is a major step backward from the previous 2013 Mazda 6 that I owned. This is a Japanese car so it is supposed to have a flashy interior with a highly illuminated instrument panel that sets it apart from its boring German counterparts. Bottom line: this is a great looking car with an underwhelming power train and boring dash board instrumentation - jazz these 2 things up a bit and you'll have customers buying a Mazda 6 instead of a BMW 5 or Mercedes E series.

I purchased a new Mazda 6 in 2015. I was impressed by the car's handling during initial test drive. Exterior and interior design is very elegant and sporty with 19" wheels and high quality interior materials. However, during the 3 years of driving this car too many things overshadowed my first impression. While the car still handles corners very well, accelerates and brakes just fine, the overall ride quality is very poor, suspension and low profile tires are very stiff, so unless the pavement is perfect the ride is very choppy and very tiring over long hauls. Engine is noisy. Sound insulation in general is bad. Road noise and wind noise are almost deafening at speeds over 70 mph. The car sits very low and is somewhat difficult to get in and out. In a touring version you get a power driving seat but no lumbar support adjustment. Bluetooth connection is lost every time you exit the vehicle you have to reconnect the phone every time you get it. The infotament screen isnt very intuitive. Hood, gas tank and trunk release buttons are all cluttered in one hard to reach place, below to the left of the steering wheel, they are small, barely seen and you almost inevitably push the wrong button. Trunk is very shallow. Heat distribution is poor: when its supposed to blow only at your feet, front vents blow about equally strong. Its not uncommon to have a half frozen windshield when the heater is at windshield/feet position and i its below 25F. I purchased a new Mazda CX9 in 2007, drove it for 10 years and had over 260,000 miles on it when I sold it. I had zero complaints about this car. While Mazda depreciates much faster that Toyota or Honda, if you keep it long enough its worth it. With Mazda 6, however, Im counting the days until my son gets his driver license so I can give him this car and move on to something else. If I sell it right now I will probably loose close to half of what I paid for it 3 years ago. Major disappointment.

So i decided to trade my hyundai for one of these. while i have not really driven this yet i can tell it should be fun. i have more room on the inside and the layout is basic. I opted for a base model minus the the fancy radio and gadgetry. also the price was right. so far it rides well throttle response is better and the ride is very quiet. the 4 gerbils under the hood seem to be very happy and get the wheels moving quite quickly. i dont know about fuel economy but i expect it to be rather decent for a 4 cylinder. note i have only owned this for about 5 hours.

THE Best Car I've ever owned

We looked at several cars, Honda Accord, Toyota Camry, Hyundai Sonata, Nissan Altama, etc. It came down between the Honda Accord and the Mazda 6. We already have an Accord, which is also a really good vehicle, however I wanted something a little more sporty looking, which is why I chose the 6. Besides the amazing looks of this car, the interior and what you get for the price, just can't be beat. I'm averaging around 33mpg and that's half town driving and half highway. This car is just so much fun to drive, it handles so well and for a 4 cylinder the pick up is really good. I can't recommend the Mazda enough, very satisfied and they have me as a loyal customer.

Two year update - burning oil!

I have enjoyed this car for almost two years. Still enjoy the comfortable quiet ride. I have been using 1-2 quarts of oil between regular oil changes (7,500 miles). Is this normal?

I'm so grateful to God for this car!! I got an amazing deal and I'm so glad I took it. I come from driving 15 years of Infiniti cars which are nice but I wanted something different. I actually went to the dealership for the MazdaCX5, but while looking at it a dealer pulled up in this one and I was wowed! 3 weeks later I'm so in love!! Takes $27 to fill up, super comfortable ride, great brake work and handling, very attractive radio interface, and outside is so beautiful I get complimented everyday men and women alike on how it looks. The red exterior is so rich. I'm so happy and recommend this car for anyone who is looking for something attractive yet affordable!! Unbeatable!

The only two negatives are the touch screen when using the navigation system, and the tires it comes with. They're Dunlap's and, while All-season, are very poor in snow and ice. Everything else on the car is excellent. It holds the road wonderfully, is very sporty, and gives a terrific feel of the road without being uncomfortable. I'm very pleased with it after 30,000+ miles.

One of the best cars I’ve ever owned

I bought my Mazda 6 new in 2015. It now has 150,000 miles. It’s been an excellent car. The brakes have only been replaced once at 125,000 miles. Once the wheels developed a problem where the coating chipped off at 60,000 miles, Mazda replaced all 4 wheels. I just replaced the drive belt and spark plugs as I’m giving the car to my son and I want him to have no major expenses. My plan is to get the CX5.

I've driven about 25K Kms per year on this car, it's been almost 6 years and I've had almost zero problems (1 recall on the e-brakes). It bought a loaded manual car and never looked back. At the time in late 2014 this was pretty much the only family sized sedan that I could get which was fun to drive and had a manual transmission with all the bells and whistles. Can't say enough good things about this car, it has aged really well. I hope to keep me car for another 10 years as it's getting increasingly difficult to find a manual car for a family man like myself.

It's been a very reliable and dependable car. Fun to drive, a little bit more power would be great.

The 6 is not for every driver. If you like driving - it's for you. If you want pure comfort, than look somewhere else. The nav is no better than a Garman, but sound from Bose speakers in the Grand Touring is very good. I had the car for 4 years and 40000 miles. Nothing broke. Only oil changes and tire rotations. The OE tires and battery were still in good shape after 40000 miles. Car was still tight and rattle free after 4 years. Even the light colored Almond leather still looked brand new after 40000 miles - I would clean it at least every month with VLR. Purchased for $28k - traded in 4 years later and got $15k.
