Overall VERY positive, but electronics are abysmal
I knew the electronics were weak in this car before I bought it, but I use Apple CarPlay, and as it gets better, I figured the overall experience would get better. Too much trackpad interface - just too much. It's not AT ALL intuitive, and it poses a conflict of driving on the road and having to push the trackpad button SEVERAL times for simple functions. For example, getting air flow into the rear of the car. There is no hard button to push - you have to go through the menu, and it is IMPOSSIBLE to find when you're NOT driving, let alone when you're traveling at 70 mph. There must be 5 pushes of the trackpad to facilitate this. Besides the electronics, the car is lovely. It is responsive, the Sport Mode is very cool and powerful, and the interior is just well-sculpted and pristine. The ride is library quiet, and the luxury is unparalleled. When reviewing, I take into account the OVERALL experience, which in my case is VERY positive. Nicest car that I have owned, and I just gave up the Porsche brand after 15 disappointing years. I had the 2017 Cayenne Hybrid, which I could not wait to get out of, and several other cars before this. I have driven Mercedes, BMW 745 Li, and other luxury brands, but the LS 500 is not only the nicest car, but also the best value. If the company could get their arms around better electronics, everyone would be driving the Lexus.

I returned home to Lexus!
The Lexus LS 500, is how every car should be made. Attention to every detail inside and out. The Lexus buying experience is like no other. I have owned 3 Lexus in the past kept each a long time including a 2003 Ls430. I left the Lexus family in 2013 when I bought a Cadillac XTS...then in 2018 leased a Genesis G90. These brands think they are Luxury Automobile/Brand but in my experience and opinion, they do not come close in the car and definitely not in the Staff. As I mentioned, very happy to be back home with Lexus.

Best Ever
This new 2018 LS 500 is my sixth Lexus, and it is far and away better than any of my previous cars. I was reluctant to buy it because of the negative review by Consumer Reports, but they missed the mark in this newly redesigned gem that is patterned after their new LC 500. I rate it at the highest level.

Overall a great luxury car
The base car is well equipped and is engineered and manufactured extremely well. The interior looks great and is clearly thought out. A couple of minor issues. The safety features are very good. The front drivers seat appears to have a little to much of a bolster so it feels like I'm not all the way down in the seat. I am big, so for most I maybe OK. The cars tends to correct itself when centering itself in the lane on the freeways. Maybe that just takes getting used too. Overall a great car.

Best Sedan Available
For me maybe the best sedan ever made at any price. I have a 2022 LS 500 purchased used with 16000 miles. Looks and smells new. Ride and cabin noise is excellent except I need to ditch the run flat tires which cause road rumble and harshness. I have the variable suspension modes. Fit and finish are excellent. Comfort is high and I have the luxury interior. With a touch screen the touch pad is unecessary. Acceleration is everything you need. I have inquired about reliability at Lexus dealers on LS 500 from 2018 forward. I am told it has no weakness. Styling inside and out is very pleasing. This is a luxury sedan and not a sports car. Having said that, it still is responsive to drive on winding roads. I bought the car to drive between Las Vegas and San Clemente CA. on mostly I 15. You will arrive fresh everytime even when there are traffic delays. The mileage is phenomenal on the highway though it requires premium gas. I have test driven a Genesis G90 and found it not to be as refined in any respect as the LS 500. I have not driven a Mercedes S class vehicle which I have read is a very nice automobile but has reliability and depreciation issues I choose to avoid.

Overall best car we have experienced
Purchased the 2020 LS in November 2019 , birthday gift for my wife. We have owned a few Lexus vehicles in the past . Overall she loves the car . I have giving her the option of the 2020 LC or the New 911 2020 , after test driving the three cars she preferred the LS. As a CPA she loves it. I own a 2019 NX an honestly enjoyed it very much a very versatile suv . Lexus historically has been a very dependable automobile company choice for us overall. For the investment and reliability it’s our best choice.

LS 500 perfection
This is my 5th LS sedan. They absolutely knocked it out of the park on this one. Nothing short of stunning to look at. Tons of compliments by week 2. The engine and acceleration beats my M5 from 2005. I cannot get the car to break loose on back country roads. It could not be more planted. I'm talking about taking turns at 80-90 mph. I was playing chase with an S63 AMG coupe yest. I wish I could post the video. It was keeping up with a car that has 700 lb.ft of torque. 2,400 W stereo sounds like a symphony. Massaging seats. Impeccable detail on the Inside. They have caught up and likely exceeded the big German sedans. You can save about $60k compared to MB, BMW, Masserati, etc. I am blown away. It is no longer my old man Lexus.

Another great LS
It is more expensive but this I my fourth LS and they just keep getting better. The depreciation is reasonable and a lot better than a Mercedes, BMW or AUDI. If I were fleeing a gang of criminals, there might be a better car but I do not do that. The reliability of every one of my LS's (2004, 2007, 2013 and now the 2018) has been superb and I value that a lot. I am not that intoxicated by the three pointed star but if I drive 450 miles this car could not be much better and yet every year they improve it. Keep it up Lexus! I have been in Engineering for 45 years and quality of build and reliability are musts. There area lot of great cars out there but you can depend on Lexus and its excellent dealer network. It would be hard for me to go to a different brand. The infotainment system is a bit complicated but if you take a little time you can use it well. The German brands do not perform much if any better and they sure depreciate fast.

All time classic
The LS500 is an insane car. The spindle/predator/monster/whatever-you want-to-call-it grille can turn away some shoppers, but call me crazy because I think that grille looks amazing. Even though there’s no giant engine that gives out-of-the world power, the V6 turbo is perfectly liveable. The transmission shifts very fast and the overall driving feel is very stable. The seat comfort is absolutely stellar, once you get used to adjusting them. There’s plenty of room for taller folks, and the luxury features you expect are all there. There’s the ginormous head-up display, panoramic moonroof, million way seats, standard safety systems, and the list goes on. Bottomlining is easy. Personally, I think this is one of the best values in the large luxury sedan segment. This makes it easily one of my favourite cars.
