We purchased this vehicle to replace one that was getting old and was starting to need a lot of maintenance. We weren't necessarily looking for a minivan but found one we thought we'd like to test drive. The dealer let us have it over night and we were very impressed with the Sedona. The warranty package was very important and we also liked what we were getting in the vechicle for the price. I think we made a good choice in the Sedona. I would have liked the anti-lock brakes to come on the base model and for the take off from a stop to not be so sluggish but other than that I really enjoy owning my Sedona.

Kia only has one problem

The value of this van exceeds any expectation. Could not believe, after spending nearly $28,000 plus on Chrysler LE Van. This was totally loaded; moon roof, cd player, air all around from front to back; cup holders and storage bins everywhere, comfort of leather, electric locks, electric side view mirrors, V6. Gas probably 13-15 mpg - a little disappointed - but the worst exterior paint job in the world. Every time your keys hit the paint opening and closing any of the door it scratches noticably. But, what are you going to do. Hope for a decent trade in value. Have to wait and see.

This van does everything my wife and I want it to. It has convenient storage, plenty of space for the grand children, and is comfortable over the long haul. My wife and I drove to Oklahoma and the van never skipped a beat. We would recommend this van to anyone.

This is a great first minivan. With our 2nd child arriving we had to get a bigger vehicle. We priced out other minivans & they all came up way out of our budget except this one. This van is affordable & within reach of the average family. With the standard features & price, made it a great buy! It's comfortable & our family loves it. I'm sure you can find more refined & luxurious minivans out there, but for more money! It drives great, it's fairly powerful, & comfortable on long trips. Plus the long warranty & 5 star rating from the NHTSA makes it an exceptional value. Don't rely too much on Consumer Reports or auto enthusiasts reviews, take the opinion from someone who owns one.

We wnet from an entry level SUV to the Sedona. NO COMPARISON! The Sedona was less to purchase and MUCH more in comfort. It is roomy with a number of great features. Such as the power seats, ability to remove seats and haul "stuff", leg room, captains seats in second row and a very quiet ride!

i like the style and handling of this vehicle. I've been driving 36 years and have driven almost every type of vehicle on the road. To me this is one of the best. the handling is not like a sports car but to me it is better than a blazer i had. the ride is extremely comfortable. the outside noise level in very minimal. the sound system and air conditioning is very good. the seats are the most comfortable i've set in in years. even the ride in the back seating is very comfortable. the removal of the back seating is great, not as heavy as a gmc van i had. all in all a great van.

I never dreamed I would end up driving a minivan but as a single father of 3, there was no better choice of vehicle for me right now. So I bought a 2005 Kia Sedona LX. I just love this van! Everything from the exterior to the interior of this van was put together with care and understanding of a family on a budget. The van looks and rides good and I am pretty happy with the purchase. My only gripe about this vehicle is that its consumption of gas is HUGE! I can get about 22mpg on the highway. When on the road, there is minimal road noise and good visibility. Controls in the cabin are laid out in a logical and thoughtful manner. Factory CD/radio system isn't bad.

I love my KIA. I had a 2001 YUKON DENALI for 4 years before I had to give it up for this car. It made the transition easier because the Yukon was very luxurious and had plenty of room. The issue with the fuel regulator cutting off when the tank was full was the only issue I have had. I have performed the maintenance early and replaced all tires. The a/c is frosty even in the rear rows and in the winter that heater burns us up!

From the start the purchase of this vehicle was very pleasant, My wife did most of the research and I was suprised on all of the features that Kia had to offer. We elected for every option except the first aid kit. My wife enjoys driving and shopping in our Kia much more then our Suv. It is easy to load the kids and anything else you may have to hall around. I would purchase another Kia in the future.

I traded my 2002 Odyssey after the transmission was replaced 2 times. Yes there is a difference between these two vehicles but this Kia can hold its own. I brought my fully loaded and for the price, no one can touch it. I have had a few problems with my Kia but no major. I took of the tires that came with this vehicle after 13,000 mile and replaced them with some new Goodyear tires. What a difference that has made. Ride improved drastically. Look forward to the new 2006 model. From the reviews it will raise that bar.

Except for the low miles per gallon, we like our Sedona. We were in a minor wreck and because it is quite a sturdy van, you can barely tell. We used to have a Ford Windstar, and in that particular wreck, we would have seen a lot of crumpling. For the low price, this is an excellent choice.

My wife and I bought a 2005 Sedona that has 16,500 miles on May 21. Three days later while driving home from work I had an accident. A lady in a Lexus pulled in front of me and I slammed into her going approximately 50mph. After recovering from the initial shock of it all, I got out and found, to my surprise, very little damage to our van. The lexus was totaled. The van sustained damage to the front end and radiator, but had no intrusion into the engine. I was also very pleased with my lack of any serious injury, an air bag burn to my hand was all that happened. And now I have become a believer in the Sedona and its high crash rating.

We were looking for an economical replacement for our ten year old Dodge Caravan. We looked at all of the contenders out there and felt that many of them were overpriced for some of the most basic of features. Playing the “option package” game can add thousands to the sticker price just to get one or two features of interest. We also found it frustrating to get the color options we wanted. Build quality and design left a lot to be desired when we looked at the choices. Then we looked at the Sedona. One look was all it took. All the basic features we were looking for were there. The price was great! It’s built like a tank. It is very comfortable and drives real smooth and quiet. It has power!

We have a 2002 Sedona and have loved it until one thing after another keeps going on. The van keeps dying out on me. We have changed the motor mounts, 02 sensors, the air flow filters, and the alternator. So far the check engine light has not turned on so the dealer is guessing on what could be wrong. Up to now we have spent close to $2000 and still don't know what's going on. At this point I regreat letting my husband change my mind from buying the Toyota Sienna. WOMEN DON'T LET YOUR HUSBAND CHANGE YOUR MIND. For a mom with 3 small kids this is not a safe car!

Bought this van in 2009 with 64k+ miles on it, for less than $7k. Have put on 25k miles in the last two years. I have probably spent $3k in repairs on it (struts, an airbag sensor, brake pads, regular service), but even for $10k its been a great value. And edmunds still values at 6k. :) Beats not having a car payment, and not afraid to get some beach sand in it!

I've owned a 2004 Kia Sedona for one year and I only have one complaint. The rear seats don't fold into the floor, which is inconvenient when you need to haul things other then kids. It drives great. The transmission and engine are flawless. The interior is sharp looking and comfortable for long trips. The exterior is good looking as well. The best thing about this van is that I bought the top of the line model for $19,000 with tax out the door. I had a Dodge before and the Kia is so much better built. Also I tow 3 ATV's on a trailer and it tows them without a problem.Consider this model because price vs value is fantastic, as long as you can live without folding in floor seats.

Overall the Sedona is a pretty good van except for the gas mileage. bought the van used, being a single mom and GSleader I needed the room and a dependable van. The dealership i purchased it from in Feb 06 is OUT OF BUSINESS & now there are NO records of all the gas mileage problems. I took to another dealership "they can't find anything wrong", but they did replace the float sensor in the gas tank and LOST my mileage log that i had been keeping track of for 2 yrs. I get around 10-13 miles/city and 17-19 hwy. I am on the third set of tires and third set of brakes. I tried to trade in on an 08 - they will only give me $4k - i still owe $11k. but said van was in great condition!

My wife and I bought our Kia new in '05 with the hope that we were getting a decent vehicle...WRONG! Overall it's okay. However, the rear brakes make a groaning noise that the dealer can't seem to fix. The horn works intermittently. Every so often the A/C stops working. There is not as much cargo room as I had initially hoped. Unless you are a child, getting into the back seat requires you to be a contortionist. The paint must be the lowest quality possible, it gets scratched just by looking at it. The fuel mileage isn't horrid, but you can get comparable mileage from a Suburban. Which is what we are looking into trading in for. Do yourself a favor, avoid Kia.

This van is not a bad choice at all. Sure it isn't very roomy when it comes to cargo space but with the adjustments and removals available, you can make room. It's the safety that matters people. Would you rather get into a wreck with cargo space or get into a wreck knowing you have a 5 star rating? Yeah, me too. When driving this vehicle, you know you are safe and you just feel safe. You have the good view (except rear view, which is limited) . You think you have your brights running when you don't, the headlights are so good. Interior is quite amazing also. Everywhere you look you can place something, lots of storage and plenty cupholders. You get your moneys worth, ***The Warranty***

This is not the first Kia. But it is our first SUV. It is such a pleasure to drive ... handles so easily, and mobility is excellent. The only downside is the small gas tank. It doesn't hold much gas at a time. Would rather not have to visit gas station as often. Like the 16 inch tires. It is a joy to drive. Was purchased as replacement for husband's car, but wife took it over! He hasn't had much opportunity to drive it!

The only thing I dislike about the performance of my 2005 Sedona is the gas mileage. I got better mpg in my old SUV. However, the 10 year warranty, low price and roominess of the interior sold me on the Sedona. I love the captain's chairs in the middle, but sometimes it makes it harder for the kids to squeeze into the 3rd row. The bench seat would have been a better bet. As for reliability, I have driven 8,000 miles in the last 8 months since purchasing this van. I haven't had any trouble whatsoever. I love my Kia!

Overall vey satisfied. Fuel economy much better than expected. It is consistently 18.5 to 20 mpg with AC running and in and out of traffic. Road noise a little high and steering radius a bit short but neither problem comes close to off-setting the value of the purchase price. Seats are a bit heavy and bulky to remove but 7 adults can ride quite comfortably. Dual AC unit is outstanding and here in south Florida that counts for a lot of comfort. Tires are nosiy and I look forward to replacing them. haven't had chance to check out dealer support as I've had no problems . I'm very satisfied especially "for the money." I wish I had gotten the optional "back-up warning system."

I looked at several vans before buying the Kia - comparable vans were $5-10K more and with less warranty. I've driven my van 47K in 3 years. Only trips to dealer were a couple of minor recalls and to replace the switch for the power seat recliner. Kia knew this van was a little portly (4800 lbs empty) but I like heavy duty features (HD chassis, aux transmission & oil coolers, dual piston brake calipers). I get 17/24 MPG. Maintenance has been oil changes, tores at 30K, front brakes at 45K. Overall van has been comfortable and reliable.

I am very unhappy now that I find out how much the "warranty" is going to cost ME. As dealer stated..Required to do at 30K; plugs, AC system flush, Coolant system flush, LOF...cost of over $700 at dealer. At 60K it will need a timing belt, etc. that is over $700 too. All need to be done at a KIA dealer, nobody else can do. This stuff never mentioned when they wanted to make the sale! The 100K warranty is a joke, any car will last if you do all that stuff. I have had 3 sets of brakes on it, front struts, tires wearing off, replaced twice. Check engine light comes on all the time, Alarm goes off for no known reason, The resale is worse than terrible. Have just 30K on it, hate it.

We've owned our 2005 Sedona since Oct. last year and so far it has over delivered our expectations. Nice torquey V-6, comfortable ride, excellent road manners for a vehicle its class, very quiet engine, great a/c, silk-shifting transmission. Great curb appeal, killer warranty (10 yrs/ 100,000 miles), and the sales/service-maintenance experience has been the best we've ever had with any Dealer. Our decision to buy the Sedona came from our experience with our other car. A 2002 Kia Optima with 70k miles driven in less than 3 yrs. This was a "no- brainer" decision.

Just bought this ex model on the 26 of dec 04 and am so far impressed with it. The only thing I would recommend is that ABS should be standard equip. on all models, not sold as an option. So far very impressed with the entertainment system. This is our first minivan, so my wife and I really don't know what to expect in ride and comfort. I have noticed that the ride is stiff kinda like a truck, but that is o.k. for the money we paid we did get alot for what we have. Can't tell you much about the gas mileage cause we are still on the 1st tank of free gas. Driving around in D.C. traffic i am sure i will not get what the manf. recommend though. Enjoy the van. great purchase.

We've recently passed the 5,000 mile mark with our "loaded" 2005 Sedona. Those miles included two trips over the 2004 holidays, totalling about 3,000 miles. So far I'd say we have a somewhat less than average impression of our first KIA. Probably the biggest complaint we have is with the gas mileage. Our expectations - as set by the salesman- were 22+ mpg, Needless to say we were dismayed when we got a little over 18. The second area we found lacking in this vehicle is with the interior space. Utilizing the available space behind the third row seating reduces the "recline" feature and makes for a less comfortable trip. Overall, the features are nice but the controls are confusing.

We love it....the room inside is amazing and the storage areas are plenty. The engine runs so smooth and it dosent make much noise when it is running. I have driven this van as much in one month than I drove our car in two years! The gas mileage is so-so..but we did come from a V4 car where we could drive for weeks on a tank of gas. Overall, I would recommend the Kia Sedona to anyone. We have purchased a lot of automobile for a low price.......Go buy one today!!

I think Kia went the extra mile on there Sedona. Every avalable space inside has a purpose with three glove compartments and a safe, cup holders ,C D holder, etc. With the V6- 5 speed this van has plenty of power.Handles very well in the snow and has a passing gear at 60 miles per hour that you still have power to pass on the highway. The only thing Kia could do better for this van is to inprove the gas mileage.

I love this van. They the reviewers keep commenting on the weight. As far as power for the weight I have no problem she gets to the interstate speeds real quick. I think when Kia is around for a while and skeptics like me buy them then watch out all the optioned out overpriced competition. The way I see it the competition is going to do all they can to make Kia look bad. If you stay out of the pedal you can stretch the so so gas milage. Nice ride, nice handling and more power than I am going to need. Oh I forgot the interior is not gaudy and just enough for the average non show-off. Traded in a Spectra 2002 60000 on it loved it also.Kia will bring the resale value with time. Good job.

I've had my Sedona for over 3 years and have never had a brake problem as others are saying. The only persistent problem is that the interior light doesn't always come on when I open the door. If I play with the switch, it works for a while and then stops working again. The dealer hasn't been able to find any problem. The only other comment is that it doesn't have a great turning radius. I was used to compact cars and sedans. I drive over 40 miles round trip daily. I am getting 20 miles per gallon! I think that's pretty good for a large vehicle. My next minivan however will be stow-n-go seats and power side doors.

The "Mona Lisa" Kia

If you decide to buy this van, please take it out for a day long test drive. My Kia has a moan telegraphing from the front Air Conditioner compressor through the dashboard. First time returned - Dealer says noise is "normal" - checking with Kia for countermeasures. Second time in - dealer checking with "tech-line" for countermeasures. Third time in, a Kia District Manager stated again noise heard is "normal". Rode exact same make and model courtesy vehicles transporting me to dealer 70 miles round trip (3 seperate vehicles)- no noise. Offered to trade my van for one of them (with 21,000 miles)- dealer laughed. Make sure you check with NHTSA before buying. I call my car "Moana Lisa".

We bought our Van 2 weeks ago and love it.We have three small children and when looking around for a van we wanted one with a lot of storage/room as well as an affordable price. The Sedona's inside design allows for plenty of storage and I love all the cup holders and A/C Adaptors. We also liked that the dual slide doors comes standard on all models. The one thing I would change would be the width of the van.We have the model that has captain chairs and it is a little difficult to walk between the two seats.I have noticed on other vans the body is much wider.Other than that we love this van.We intend to keep it a long time. The great thing about Kia is the warranty! 100K/10years.You can't beat it

I had a van for sixteen years and knew it was time to start looking for a new one. We looked at Ford, Honda, and then Kia. We stopped looking! We bought our Kia in December 2004. We love it. I went from hauling my children to hauling my grand children. I just can't say enough good about this vehicle. Great gas mileage(especially with the gas prices),the price paid for the van was heaven sent(affordable). Thank you, Sandy & Eddie Rehrer

My buying experience was the best I could expect. I have driven the car 200 miles since buying it yesterday and love the feel of the wheel and the comfort. I look forward to filling it with my family members!

Great van. Price was good with rebates, much lower than competition. No problems with vehicle whatsoever other than having to have a windshield wiper replaced.

This was one of the most important decisons I had to make since moving to the Virginia area. This turned out to be the best thing I did. The ride is comfortable, the gas mileage is great and I am recommending the vehicle to others.
