Great Change
Had a 2019 Kia Niro PHEV. Traded for the 2022 full electric and love it! Great horsepower. Convenient features that make travel comfortable and safe. 238 mile range.

12 v aux battery problems
For the first year, I loved this car. But in year two, problems with the 12-v auxiliary battery started to emerge. Three times I have had to jump start the car with an extra 'drained battery boost.' Three other times the car powered up but refused to go into gear; jump starting by a portable jumper and by AAA and still not being able to go into gear left me no option but to have the car towed to a KIA dealership. The first time it was towed in, the 12-v was empty, despite normal driving conditions. The next time, the 12-v battery was low after having driven about 80 miles. The third time happened just after normal local driving with a registered 12.85 charge on the 12-volt battery. In all cases, the car went into gear once the charge on the 12-v exceeded 12 volts. It seems that either: there is some vampire drain on the 12-v, the HV battery isn't charging the 12-v, or some mechanical or software problem is interfering with normal communication between the HV & 12-v batteries. A few months ago, I installed a 12-volt battery monitor and check the charge each time I park and turn off the car. Each time the car is turned off, the 12-volt battery charge drops dramatically. If I immediately turn the car back on, the battery level immediately returns to normal. Since I've done this, I had a problem only once, and a quick boost solved the problem. Three dealers now have blamed me for things that I know are not true: not driving enough or leaving the lights on. I am very frustrated with KIA not taking the problem seriously.

Love this car
Perhaps it is because my old car was a 2012, but this car has so many great features...and I keep discovering more. Yesterday I put my book bag in the back seat, and when I stopped it said "check the back seat". I'm sure this feature is to remind you to take the baby inside, but it also works with bookbags...I also found a free charging station (right in front of my local police department) only 2 blocks from my house, so I've never had to pay to charge it...Little Fiat (which had great gas milage) was about $30 every week and a half...so you can't beat the fuel cost...
