5 star car but the small things ruin it

We just got one and we love it but there's a few things that knock it down a bit for me. I know they're not huge issues, but with a little forethought they could've made this car basically perfect. Firstly, they put their kind of crappy sat nav which prevents you from using wireless android auto. The mild inconvenience of having to plug in my phone isn't as big of a deal as them making their sat nav standard and losing what would otherwise be a pretty good perk. Hundreds of dollars for this sat nav straight out of the year 2000 that I will never use and prevents me from using the sat nav I want to use in the way I want to use. Secondly, the software on their touchscreen is poorly organizex. Too many icons that can do the same thing, nevermind the fact that there are manual buttons for half the software buttons. Additionally, when trying to access the Kia software while using Android auto, you can't go back the home screen to use another app. You have to go to radio or map by pressing the manual buttons then press the software home button. While we're on the software, $200 a year for their car app?! Another issue, and perhaps the biggest safety issue, is they have steering wheel paddles that will charge your car while it stops it but don't apply the break lights. Living in a city means I basically can't use the paddles. Lastly, and perhaps the potentially most expensive, is they put the charging port in the front. It is a very mild convenience for very costly replacement with the tiniest fender bender. With all that said, I'd buy another one...

We were all in love with this car. Then, on day, it would not go in to gear. They towed it in, supposedly fixed it. A week later, same thing in a parking lot. Then they kept it for almost 3 months and could not fix it. We are now trying to get our money back from Kia...and it has taken almost a month to get a decision from them. The dealer was useless on this-they wanted to give us"trade in value" to buy another car. Very disappointed...

Get this 315 mile range car!

I could go on and on about all the things I like about this car, but the main thing is...315 miles of range! EPA rating of 239 not even close. When fully charged, my range varies between 300 and 326 miles. Also, my range has INCREASED since purchasing this car last year even though range should decrease about 2% a year. In full disclosure, I always drive in ECO mode, use maximum regeneration, don't accelerate or brake hard and drive pretty gentle. However, shouldn't we all drive that way anyway? Now this is NOT a sports car, but for day to day driving and a great price (with federal/state incentives), I highly recommend it. 240V charger in my garage takes about 8-9 hours for full charge. No more gas stations. Never thought I'd own an electric car, at least not this soon, but I will never go back to ICE again.

It’s been one year and 10,000 miles on my 2021 Niro premium EV, and I do really love this car. First off economy, I drive mostly short trips under 100 miles, and average about 4.4 miles per kw or 290 miles per full charge. Highway speeds of 75-80 drops to 3.5, same for winter months. Overall save about $160:a month on gas! Acceleration is impressive in sport mode, lAlmost Like my wife’s Tesla dual motors and very acceptable in Eco mode. Handling is competent, comfortable seats and ride. I prefer the in dash display screen over the iPads type, most features easy to use, and monitoring of speed, recharging, and miles/kw display reminds of economy driving. Agree too many icons on screen when swiping, but a minor nuisance. Lastly, being a frequent golfer, I love the storage tray under the fold down rear section, It literally holds all my golfing gear, oleaving the floor free of loose items. Sporty looking too! I see it’s rated #2 behind only Tesla 3, about 25 grand less! Also , install a charger if you can, check rebates, PA gives $1000 or more, income dependent. Lastly, plenty of charging stations, and shows closest e while driving. It’s 2years and now 22,000 miles and after re reading my review I have to say ‘dittio’ I truly agree with all my original comments today. Actual miles per kw is up to 4.6, and if it’s driven easy have hit 5.0, so averaging about 300 miles range, that’s over many new EVs. I use the paddle controls for breaking often, adds to feel of driving. Breaks are about 12% used after 22k so no break replacement in sight for a long time. Lastly in house charger is best, but for my driving I use the 110 line, and have a Tesla charger installed for my wife’s T 3. Kia has been terrific! Now 26,000 and all of above applies. Miles per kw remains in the 4.5 + driving in eco majority of time
