Forte LX - nice surprise

2014 Kia Forte LX 4dr Sedan (1.8L 4cyl 6A)

I have had this about 2 weeks so far, and still like it, no buyers remorse. I got the LX with Popular package because I wanted cruise control. Back in 2010 when I bought my Corolla, I had looked at Kia but some of the cars seemed cheap. The 14 Forte is a step up, with slightly bigger trunk and trunk opening than the 13, better seats (in my opinion), etc. I recommend it over the 13 even though you pay more. Wind noise okay, a little noiser than Elantra but a quieter than 13 Corolla or Sentra. Trunk opening (important for me cause I have big briefcases, boxes, etc) was better than Corolla, and I didn't have to bend down as much as Elantra. Sentra trunk & opening bigger and better though

Upgraded my 2011 Hatch to the 2014 Forte5

Recently I decided to trade in my 2011 Forte EX hatchback on a 2014 Forte5. I got every conceivable option one can get. Wow, is all I can say. I loved our 2011 but this 2014 blows it away. Aside from having a lot more bells and whistles it is quieter, rides better and most significantly gets better gas mileage with same 2.0 engine. I am not talking about a modest increase but a big increase. I have run 7 tankfuls through it and my low was 30.1 and the high was 44.7 which was measured the old fashioned way, not by the computer.

Perfect car for commuting

I purchased my a completely redesigned 2014 Forte in October 2013. Now with 24k miles with it, I have no complain what so ever. It has an adequate power and great gas mileage. I get constantly 35 miles combined city and highway. I cannot imagine any better car for what I paid. I graduated from Honda Civics (3 previous generations) and have no regret. Every time I park my car and I smile at the car to see how good it looks from front.

Update: Still runs great but has developed a knock at startup but is quite after the engine is warm. I only use full synthetic oil and change every 5,000 miles. Update: My Forte now has 90,000 miles and not one single issue. Still loving it.. Update: My Forte now has 90,000 and runs as good as the day I bought it. Absolutely love it. I have never had a single issue. I bought the car 3yrs ago with 8,900 miles. It now has 60,000 miles on it. I have not a single issue with it. My only complaint are the headlights. I live in the country and there are a lot of hills. The low beams are completely useless. You can only see about 10 feet in front of you with the low beams on. Other than that, I absolutely love the car! I own a 2014 Kia Forte LX with the upgraded package. I have owned a lot of 4 cylinder engines in my time but I am blown away by how well the 1.8L engine in the car responds. I have no issues getting on the highway or passing because the car gets up and moves. I am averaging 39mpg but I drive mostly highways. The 6 speed transmission shifts smooth, unlike some of the competitors! The handling is good but not awesome. I have owned 3 other Kia’s (Sedona, Rio & Spectra) and never had any issues with them. Kia had a rough start but they have really turned the quality & reliability around. I would recommend this car to anyone.

2014 Kia Forte EX is a winner!

The new 2014 Kia Forte EX is leaps and bounds ahead of the previous models. Although it has the same 2.0L engine as the previous year, they switched to a GDI injection system which is gives better efficiency, upping it from 156 HP to 173 HP, yet manages the same MPG. If you leave it on the default ECO setting, it feels sluggish if you try to push it some. It's trying to save you gas. But if you turn ECO off, the sluggishness goes away, but so will your better mileage. The new Forte EX is quieter. It rides better. The new Forte has the Elantra chassis with the same wheelbase, and curb to curb radius. It has the same 6 speed transmission, but a more powerful engine. We have had our car serviced at the manufacturers required service points. It has not given us any problems at all. It has been very reliable. There are no squeaks or any other peculiar sounds in the cabin of the car. It is as quiet now as when I bought it. The interior is holding up well. It's been a great car.

Frustrated Kia owner!!!

This car starts out cute, had it 2 yrs. now. Just found that there has been water running into the vehicle by way of trunk or back windshield. It's rains for a day and a half. I put something in my trunk and spotted a soaked trunk. I thought well I'll put in in the back seat , opened the door and put my bag on the back seat only to find that the back seat and floor were completed enfolded in water. Took the car to the dealer, there response was, well your warranty is out. The car is having electrical problems back windows won't open , apparently the water ruined them. The car has mold. They say , oh yes we are fixing there manufactures defect, not mine because it's out of warranty. WTF, this should be a recall due to defect! Won't stop this fight!!! This could cost more for repairs than the car is worth. Looking for help!!! Frustrated in North Carolina

LOVE the 2014 Forte!

I purchased a Crimson Red 2014 Kia Forte with black interior and UVO eServices features in March 2014. I absolutely love this car (I'm getting the Super Polysteel coating added this week). It rides smooth and is very quiet. Myself, my husband and our two children fit in the vehicle comfortable (one infant carseat in back) and the trunk is very spacious. It has a lot of "get up and go" as my Mom would say. A compact, powerful, and stylish car for your money. I have fun driving it I know i'll love it for years to come.

What a catastrophic fail

We bought the 2014 Kia Forte used from a trusted dealership. At first it was a great little car. My husband liked it because it was on the sportier side and got fantastic gas mileage. Well, 2 years in on owning it, having only put on 20k miles, and the speedometer only at 62k miles the Kia had a catastrophic failure with no warning. My husband parked in the driveway the night before and everything was fine. 15 minutes on his way to work the next day the engine starting knocking. He parked checked the oil and it wasnt registering. We put 2.5 qts of oil in it which it burnt through in 25 minutes. Let it sit for a couple days and looked under the hood again to notice that the radiator was almost dry as well. There is no visible leak and no lights that came on; no smoke/drips coming out the tail pipe either. Talked to a couple places and they said it would be more to repair it than to buy a new engine. At 62k miles, with recorded maintenance records, this is .... (you can fill in the blank). Kia NEEDS to have a recall on their engines. Such a catastrophic fail with no warning on such a new vehicle with low miles is unacceptable.

Has been to dealer for several minor repairs. At 44k miles started having over heating issues. Cooling fan stopped working. Been at dealer a week. Not a major repair and the dealer is being very helpful but concerning that it needs these repairs at 44k miles!

I have had this car for over 2 years now and the issue of water somehow leaking into the car from the trunk/back lights has become a major problem. Anytime it rains or you get the car washed you have to hope that the car and anything in your trunk isn't soaked inside. I have gone out to find puddles of water, wet back seats and trunk, and in the cold months frozen windows (from the inside). The back windows stopped working which I am sure is due to the water damage and I have seen condensation inside the dash board where the speedometer is as well as freezing in the ceiling lights. Heads up, the problem begins with windows that constantly fog and you'll probably dismiss it with bad defrosting but DO NOT be fooled! The gas mileage is great but the issues that come with this car are not worth it.

went in memorial day to trade in my wife's 15 year old BMW328i(tired of sinking money into it) on an Optima because we liked the reviews, etc. She had difficulty judging it for parking, etc(she's tiny). Salesman suggested the 2014 Forte that just came out. She was able to handle it much more confidently with the large windshield. Didn't get a great deal but we bought it and love it so far.

My car is killing me

I bought a 2014 Kia. My trunk had 2 feet of water in it. I took it in several times to get help but my concerns were dismissed by kia. They stated its just the way they are. The service was the worst I have ever encountered in my life, the service department actually fought between themselves arguing right in front of me. I felt very uncomfortable. Then by summer I was getting sick when I was driving my car, it took me a min to figure this out until one day I opened my trunk and oh my god the mold was everywhere and I am very sensitive to this. I have suffered 2 years because Kia wouldn't step up. Well I had enough ( I cant be in my car more than 20 min at a time, I cant have my Grandchildren in my car because they have asthma and are allergic to mold. Cant go on vacations in my car. I cant use my trunk or never could with the water pouring in so I have had to use my back seat causing ware and tare). I stopped by the Kia dealer just to retrieve a statement from them so I could sue them and they only at that time agreed to fix the problem, again the service sucked and ended up costing me $75.00 for a rental car wtf right. Well I got my car back and it rained and I opened my trunk only to find it still has water pouring in. So it was not the tail lights its the damn frame. The only thing different is now my doors make a horrible squeaking sound when opened. And still makes me very sick and Kia now saying they will help me but have not returned my calls. Help me my car is killing me!!!!!

Kia Forte overall is a good car, but they overstate their mpg. I'm not getting near kia projected 29 mpg instead I'm getting 25 mpg while driving about 60% highway and doing it with a light foot. Kia and hyundai are getting poor mpg compare to other compact cars manufacturers, plus they recently got fine by the govt for overstating their mpg for their cars. Guess they haven't learn there lesson.

2014 Kia Forte Nails It

I've had this new 2014 Kia Forte for a month now, and so far it has exceeded all of my expectations. I was looking for a commuter car that got at least 30+ mpg, and at 6'8" and 260 lbs, I needed to be able to fit comfortably. I checked out the other brands in the segment (Carolla's, Cruze's, Civic's, Elantra's, and Focus) but in the end I felt like I got more bang for the buck out of the new Forte. I was actually leaning toward the Elantra until the newly redesigned Forte came out. Once I saw how spacious the cabin was, along with how loaded the EX model is, I was pretty much sold. The fact that I had so much room to be comfortable while sitting in it sealed the deal.

I’ve owned this car for 4 years. I loved her up until recently. Bought brand new, no issues other than routine maintenance. I mean she’s always got me to work and school but... Tire sensor was replaced under warranty at 7k, and at 60k, I noticed water was leaking into trunk after it rained. I live it in Florida and it’s always raining in the summer.Apparently this is a common issue with the trunk leak and there are no recalls. Took car to dealer and they said I would have to pay for repairs since warranty expired. This will be my first and last Kia.

Update: please do yourself a favor and do not buy this car. Gas usage is ridiculously high and we had to repair the motor and sell it under half the price we bought it We bought this Car in the Dominican Republic and the car was imported from the US. The car is comfortable but consumes a lot of fuel and after 1 year of purchase we'll have to get rid of it because is having engine issues. It's consuming 2 qt of oil every 3 days or so. Very dissapointed with KIA. I thought I was buying a good car. We gave all maintenance to have the car like a baby. Shame on this company.

Bought new, 6 years and 110,000 miles later

I bought this car new in 2014 when i was a car salesman. I do all of my own car work and this new car with warranty was no different. This car has always ran mobil 1 full synthetic oil and filter, changed every 5k miles. I do put 10% Marvel mystery oil mix into the crank case, and i use the CRC GDI intake cleaner every oil change on top of only using premium, you do feel the difference between regular and premium. The plugs were swapped at 50k miles, the air filter was swapped for a K&N air filter at 10k miles. Im relaying all this info to let people know how i treat the car, it gets basic care. I also put a boost gauge in so i could watch the PSI and see if it would degrade over time since Kia isnt known for being high end. Now, july of 2020, is the 6 year mark since i bought it with 7 miles on it. I have replaced a battery which 3-4 years is a decent run for a battery. The belt is finally getting enough small cracks in it to justify swapping it but it could go a lot longer if i wanted to push it. All the hoses and lines arent cracked or dry rotted, i live in the muddy hills of the ozarks, this car takes a beating. I have installed a oil catch can so the car doesnt burn oil mist and cake on the intake valves. The oil can was put on at 100k miles, should have done it asap because of the nature in a GDI motor. The bluetooth system gets a little moody and wont connect sometimes, turn the car off and turn it back on then it connects. The automatic tranny is "sealed" which is a bad idea in my eyes but you can drain and fill a little at a time to help flush out contaminants. The push button start still works flawlessly and the key fob battery lasts a long time. Overall it is a great car and has some pep to it, this car is deemed ol' reliable. Also the check engine light will go off if you put dirty gas in the car and it clogs the EVAP sensor for the fuel. A hyper tough code reader at walmart is $15 and it tells you what the check codes are, I'm not worried about the evap code so i just got gas from a cleaner station and that code cleared itself. I recommend this car to anyone, its not a race car but it does have a peppy motor, i have got it to 140 mph. The mirrors fold flawlessly and the backup camera still works fine, i should just say everything still works just as good as the day i bought it.

FACTORY DEFECT CAUSED WATER TO LEAK INTO TRUNK

J. Barnes, 07/15/2019
2014 Kia Forte EX 4dr Sedan (2.0L 4cyl 6A)
6 of 7 people found this review helpful

I honestly loved my 2014 Kia Forte, and thought it was a very reliable, fuel efficient and safe car. It did everything I needed it do and had no mechanical issues. Then I discovered mysterious wet spots and mold growing in my car, underneath the driver's seat and in the floor board behind it. I also discovered mold in the trunk in multiple locations. After having it inspected at the dealership which I purchased it from, I was told the tail light assembly leaks water into the trunk and they would repair it. The water from the trunk had traveled underneath the back seat onto the carpeting in the back seat floor board and underneath the driver's side carpets. Mold has formed throughout the car and the SMELL is awful. Rust spots have began forming in the trunk on the painted surfaces that are visible (and not visible areas I am certain). Mold has been growing underneath the carpeted mat and rubber mat over the spare tire within the trunk. The dealership actuallty made the leak so much WORSE by not repairing it correctly. They stated the leak was the result of a 'factory defect' but the 'recommended repair' did not stop the leak, and in fact made it worse, FLOODING my car 2 days in a row during rainy weather. There was over 2 gallons of water that had to be shop vacced out of the floor of my car immediately after the repairs were made. The local dealership has had my car for over 2 months now (since April 23 and it is now July 15th...) The repairs and the removal of all mold and ruined carpeting still have not been addressed. The service manager at Dean McCarary Mazda in Mobile, AL does not communicate and rarely responds. This is truly very disappointing as the dealership has effectively RUINED my car due to a faulty repair, which they blame on a 'manufacturer's defect'. The service department which I have trusted for 5 years! I have also been touch with KIA CORPORATE, who blames the dealership for the damages that are a result of the excessive water leaking, and states poor workmanship on their part. I do NOT RECOMMEND PURCHASING ANY KIA, especially the KIA FORTE! I have looked online and there are numerous complaints about the leak in the trunk of multiple Kia Forte models. Corporate will not take resposiblity and the local dealership is trying to blame corporate, so I am caught in the middle with nothing being resolved regarding my flooded vehicle that has now been ruined by mold & water damage. Kia does NOT stand by their products, do not purchase a KIA!!!! This car LEAKS and KIA will NOT make it right.

I've been a buy USA car guy since being a kid, well maybe a little older, but that all changed in late 2013. I took a chance and purchased my 2014 KIA Forte. The chance turned out to be the best decision I've ever made in a car purchase. The car has run flawless. I enjoy driving it more today than ever and not one thing except a low air pressure on one of the tires has appeared. The only thing I have had a problem with was and is the gas mileage. KIA stated at the time of purchase a higher mileage per gallon than what I got and still getting.

I bought my car second hand in 2016 with 63k on it. I now have 101,200 miles on it and literally the only thing I have done to it was replace the battery this year and do the regular oil changes. This is a super reliable car. The instrument is are set up in logical places, the interior is stylish, and I live that I still get 39mpg. For the price of these cars I feel they are underrated. It's also a very nice looking car. I will buy another just like it in the future.

Update: March 26, 2017. Bought used with 36k miles, now has 48k miles. No problems with it at all. I get 29-32 mpg regularly whether hooning it or driving conservatively. It's acceleration is fine for normal driving and highway merging. The sound system is great, but is sometimes buggy when trying to connect to bluetooth through your phone. Very easy to change your own oil in this car; everything is easy to get to under the car. These are good cars, you can regularly find them under $11k on autotrader or your local domestic dealership. Overall, a good replacement for an Altima Coupe.

I was looking for something with a great warranty AND something that had a classier look, I found both in the Forte. I got the EX model because I wanted something with a bit more kick. Its a smooth drive and its nimble I am able to weave in and out of traffic with a breeze. Overall I am COMPLETELY satisfied with my purchase.

Bought this 2014 Kia Forte 5 new, Now has 15,xxx miles on it. We have had to the shop several times. Antifreeze fumes blowing out of dash vents 5 times, Had gas fumes out of dash vents twice, 3 times it smelled like a overcharged battery that has been boiling. Wife left one day for work and when I went to the garage to get in my old chevy truck the garage recked the battery smell. It burns your eyes and throat and nose. Getting ready to take back to the dealer again. If they wont trade us out of it. It will be going back again and again and again. Also been having issues with engine missing at a stop sign or light in gear.

Love my Koup! Unfortunately, I haven't had it long enough to truly give a fair rating. The dealership has been working on getting the TSM fixed, then it blew a head gasket! The dealership has been great at working with us; but I'd like to have my car back to enjoy! Can honestly say that it does get great gas mileage and runs very well (my middle-age crisis car!) The driver's seat fits me and I am extremely comfortable in the car; truly love driving the car...it's just fun! It came with the remainder of the KIA warranty, which is a great deal and truly helpful with the issues that I have had. I'm not judging the car on these issues as it is a used car. But I can truly say that it is so much fun to drive; tight steering, rides great even on the low profile tires and hugs the road.

2nd Best Car I Have Ever Owned

I was always a U.S. manufactured car buyer either Chevy or Ford. After driving an unreliable chevy for years that cost a lot to keep running I felt the need to have a car with a great warranty. KIA/Hyundai have the very BEST warranty. I like cars that have pickup so usually drove manual transmissions, but decided I wanted an automatic. Still want pickup so bought the KIA Forte EX with the 2.0 liter engine, 176 horsepower and am very happy with it. It looks good (black on black). I love the LED lights and the folding door mirrors for looks and the styling is unique and sporty with 16 in wheels. I have driven it for almost 5 years, and had zero problems, nothing has been replaced or had to be fixed. Little to no vibrations. Gas mileage is not great but it's the way I drive and where I drive, not just the bigger engine.

I just recently purchased a used one from private owner, I love kia product but the forte is not the same as my old kia soul, electrical issues and trunk has water leaks. I know its a used car and not a new car at all but again I love my kia soul I have this car for at 8 years and never have any problem at all I keep the maintenance service and I changed the brakes one time only and that's it. so now having this kia forte is disappointed. I already spend $2k to fix the brakes line and the exhaust now more problem its really crazy.

This car is horrible. Has given me nothing but problems. Constantly in the shop. It was at a kia dealership for over a year waiting for one of the covered repairs. Now in the shop again for a new engine......at least it should be covered again. But good gosh, horrible vechicle, i do not recommend to anyone

Water leaking

I took my car to the shop 6 months after purchase for water damage in the truck and the back seat in March of 2016. I had to fight tooth and nail to get them to replace the back seat and trunk pieces as they had mold growing on them. I am now having the same problem but much worst. My daughter is HIGHLY Allergic to mold which is growing in my trunk and along my back seat. I have a pond of water in my trunk and apparently no one cares. The car has a horrible odor as if I left raw meat in it for weeks. It is very disappointing dealing with this.

Water leak in trunk compartment

I am having the same issue as seen in this thread: http://www.forteforums.com/forums/noobie-questions-forum/39418-water-leak-trunk-compartment.html#post682049 The dealership couldn't figure out where the water was coming from and just dried out/cleaned my car without fixing anything. It appears to be coming from under the trunk liner and it is already starting to get more moisture/water just a few days after it was cleaned (only drove 10-15 miles since then). Brand new car bought in May 2013 that smells terrible even after the dealer removed the water and cleaned out the car. Hope this gets fixed the next time I bring it in...

Have had the Forte EX w/Premium package since April 2013, and like it well enough. It will never be a car I love, and Kia has not won my brand loyalty with this model.

I had a Spectra 5 door and never thought I would enjoy another car as much as I did that one, but I was wrong. This car is awesome, lots of room for the family and lots of room in the back for shopping sprees. It is a quiet, smooth ride. Great radio and the heater warms up fast. Cant imagine ever driving anything but a Kia. You can' t beat the warranty either. I've gotten both of my Kia's from Moritz Kia in Ft Worth, they have treated me so well I will always buy from them. They go above and beyond to please the customer. I wanted to test drive one of their cars but had no ride to get to them, they brought the car to me and I was an hour away.

I've always owned Kia's and Hyundai's and have never had an issue and this car is no exception. our car is loaded with Bluetooth, satellite radio, rear back up camera and stereo controls on the steering wheel, making this car a fun and comfortable ride on roadtrips! we purchased this car for my wife in July of 2014 and now has 15k in it and have had NO PROBLEMS! i absolutely love it. Now i am in the market myself for a new car and after reading the reviews on the 2014 corolla, 2014 sentra SR, two of the cars i was considering buying, i realized the serious problems these two cars have with their trannys and or other critical components. So at this point i am happily going to stick to kia or hyundai. The only 2 issues i've had with my car so far are just minor interior issues. The car door seal seems like it shrunk with the heat (we live in arizona) and its coming out of place. the other problem is the passanger electric windows switch broke off... both of these issues are nothing compared to problems with the engine!

This car was perfect for the 1st 5 yrs. Took it on long trips, great gas mileage, comfy, but... at 5 yrs the engine went out. Not sure if this was just a bad motor or maybe the engine doesn't last long, have over 68000 miles on it. Even with this I still love Kia. I would suggest it to anyone interested in a medium car with good gas mileage, comfy seats, large truck.

Off the line power is good from a stop light but the rpm's will shoot up pass 5. The 178 hp is for sure enough for this little car. 38 mpg highway is awesome. The electronic folding side mirrors is a nice touch. I drove this car from New Jersey to Virginia which is about a 4 hour drive. The ride felt comfortable for the most part. Anything longer than 4 hours in that seat would be uncomfortable. With the steering setting in normal it will real evenly weighted. The comfort steering setting feels way to lite & the sport setting feels way to heavy. The UVO system helps you keep a track of miles and service maintenance. The car is somewhat easy to toss into corners. The best tires doe this car are Douglas performance all season tires from Walmart.

Luxury at walmart budget

Every luxury feature you want, however these kias are made so cheaply. The plastic scratches so easily, even the paint on steering wheel controls comes off. I guess you'd expect since it is lower price point. Some of my favorite features include: heated steering wheel, cooling seats, dual climate control, steering wheel mode control and the paddle shifters. It is very sporty. Fun to drive and handles so well in snow. Complaints: I do have an engine oil consumption issue. I live somewhere with snow, and due to the angle of the back windshield, every winter my back up camera glitches out until it can dry up, and works perfectly fine again.

*RUN AWAY FROM KIA*

This was my first time owning a Kia, and my Forte EXGDI starting burning an inordinate amount of oil when it had around 80k miles (almost entirely freeway miles). I started keeping records of the oil consumption in 2019. I've had to check my oil levels weekly for a long time. The numerous times I mentioned it to the local Kia dealer when I was in for recall notices, I was told that it was normal. I subsequently learned that they didn't document any of those inquiries—I didn't realize that I should have ensured they were documenting my concerns about oil (which aside from being a pain, I suspected would lead to problems with my catalytic converter, etc.). Additionally, since about 2 years into ownership, I had to run only premium fuel (and regular Techron fuel treatment) to keep the car from pinging. Anyway, the car eventually started running terribly, and I confirmed that the catalytic converter was shot...as I've long feared would occur. The dealership quoted almost $3k. Even with that repair, the high oil consumption will prematurely clog up the new cat converter, obviously. I recently sold my "still looked pretty nice but would barely run" Kia for $1k. Btw, there has since been a recall, but my vehicle didn't qualify because by the time Kia acknowledged a problem with their GDI engines, my car was several thousand miles past the recall parameters (max 150k miles). I've never encountered a less scrupulous brand than Kia. I tell EVERYONE WHO WILL LISTEN...if you have an opportunity to buy a Kia, RUN AWAY. SAVE YOURSELF. If I can dissuade just one person from experiencing the frustration and mistreatment I've gone through at the hands of Kia, I'll be grateful. P.S. YES, I also experienced the trunk leakage issues mentioned by others. The fact that I didn't mention it reflects just how terrible Kia is, that the engine issues make one forget all about other matters that really are a big deal.

I bought my Kia Forte Koup (2014) used in 2018. It had an elegant and intuitive design. All the bells and whistle… until it didn’t. This car gave me nothing but trouble in the last 2 years, with about 160,000km. We would be at the mechanic shop every month/ or two like clockwork for different issues. The fuel sensor, the alarm sensor, tire issues, oil pan leak, oil burning, just to name a few. Most of these problems might occur in other vehicles. However one particular fatal flaw this car has; the engine blew up. An electrical fire started whilst trying to start up the car, causing 2 explosions (in a parking garage no less). It was serviced only 2.5 weeks prior to the incident- if there was a repairable/ obvious issue, I would imagine (hope) my mechanic would’ve noticed. I read another review on Edmunds from another Kia owner (I wish I remembered what model/ year) that also experienced an electrical fire. Stay away from Kia’s. And for those who may not know; Hyundais are the sister cars to Kia. Be weary of them too.

I've bought a lot of cars in my tenure (d.o.b. 1943) and I have liked every car I've bought. This one is my favorite. I bought it on a whim. Leggy, female, 10, blonde salesperson. Nice pin-stripe. Black. Great looking in the showroom, both the Koup and the salesperson. Upcoming transmission trouble in my Kia Sportage. I took the Sportage in for an oil change and drove home in the 2014 Forte Koup SX. I bought it new in 2016. Just 14 miles on the odo. Just enough guts for me. After I bought it I was able to pass a semi on a 2-lane Texas highway slightly uphill, at night, in the rain at 120 + mph. With ease. Fine highway car. Nice traveler. It's got everything I like. Fold down rear seats, only 2 doors, enough storage with seats down for my music-gig gear, fold away mirrors, outside temp gauge. Great ride and drive. The 201 hp turbo engine is super. Probably my last car. That's fine with me. I can't believe Kia stopped making the Koup.
