Awesome car with a quiet/refined ride
We got our Ev6 (GT-Line RWD) a few month ago, we love the car. Our number 1 requirement was for a smooth ride (after owning a Bolt, a nice but rough car and high NVH on freeway). The number one requirement was for a a refined suspension and low NVH. We tried pretty much every electric car (Model S, Y, Mach-E, ID4) and every Lexus (as a reference). We found the EV6 to be top of the line so I would not agree with "But there are better options out there if you're after a cushy ride or lots of cargo space." I found that driving the EV6 is pleasant and great damping (driving over potholes is a non event). The other 2 cars that I tested which would improve on the Ev6 is the Model S (air suspension is like velvet, sharp steering/handling) and Lexus ES (Surprisingly as its a beefed up Toyota! but handling is better on EV6). My recommendation is to try many cars back to back and make your own opinion.

So fun to drive!
This is my first EV and I wasn’t sure what the driving experience would be like. I got the GT-line model. Not only is this car packed with tech (and cool tech that’s actually usable), but it’s also a blast to drive. Even in normal driving mode it can pin you to your seat if you step on the gas, and in sport mode…well, let’s just say I’ve surprised a few teens at traffic lights who pulled up next to me thinking they could beat me off the line in their souped up hatchbacks. LOL! Smooth and comfortable ride, with a roomy cabin for both passengers and cargo. I play in two rock bands and all of my gear (instruments, amps, cables, stands, you name it) fits in the back with the back seats folded down…with room to spare. My dog also likes to ride in the back, though she’s almost a tad too tall unless she’s up against the back seats in the cargo area. This car fast charges way faster than my friend’s Tesla, and gets pretty good range as well. We got a home charger installed, which makes it super convenient and easy to always remain charged and ready to go. Love the color as well - I have the Yacht Blue and it’s gorgeous! I had a delivery driver tell me that it was the most beautiful Kia he’s ever seen. I can’t say how it does in snow because it’s still summer time, but I suspect with AWD and snow mode it will do fairly well. All in all I’m really pleased that I found this car - it hadn’t even been on my radar until I went to a Kia dealership to look at a Telluride and walked by an EV6 on the lot. Once I saw it, I had to know more. I’m really surprised I don’t see more of these on the road - to me they look far more sporty than Teslas, and they have the same, if not better, tech and charging capabilities. But then again, I kind of like being the unique one in town. People definitely turn and look when this car goes by!

Great car, too much nanny!
We've had ours for 500 miles now (Jan 24), local journeys, nothing beyond 120 mi. We spent about $1300 on a charger box plus a long 240V-50A line for that from the house. NOTE: we would *never* have an EV (this or any other) as our only car. When we do road trips--not so often--they're usually at least 800 miles each way: grandkids, other family, etc. So we're not really interested in range at all: the gas-propelled car will take care of that. Cost. On Long Island, electric power is about 22c/kWh: expensive, and just about twice the price of the energy content of gasoline (1 gal = 33 kWH.) So even when the car is routinely managing 3 mi/kWh (100 mpge), it's really not much cheaper than a really efficient little Honda. That is of course before reduced maintenance cost, etc. We'll see... We looked carefully at the new plug-in Prius Prime, which is quite something, and as a hybrid will never give you range anxiety. However, its plug-in range is pretty puny: if it were >50 miles, that would be really useful. And of course the performance (oomph) is nothing compared with the EV6. It's also smaller. The EV6 manual and the nannying. The manuals are impossible, more than 500 pages. If you find what you're looking for, randomly, use a post-it immediately, because you'll never find it again in the index. What's that to do with nannies? Well, when the car arrives it comes with the hitchhiker's guide to everything installed in the EV galazy. No mention of the real answer, 42 (not in the manual index), but the default setup is all about taking almost complete control from the driver, assisted this, assisted that, even assisted steering (which was really creepy), etc, etc. It took 2-3 hours to work out how to turn most of it off. We are both experienced drivers, after all, and we don't use phones in the car. Perhaps we're the wrong target audience? (FYI, we--just two of us-have two other cars, a 2017 Jaguar XE for much longer trips, and a 1969 MGC, the latter of course with a stick shift on the floor...oh, goodness, what is that?!) So to the quotidian details. 1) The stupid flat door handles, copied--for no reason--from Tesla. They freeze up very easily, just like Tesla's do. The manual--quite hilariously--gives instructions about exactly where to thump the door panel around the handle to try and free it. It doesn't work: use a hair dryer (which can be plugged into the wonderful 120V outlet in the car). [Note added later by my wife: if you can't unlock the car, you can't connect a hair dryer!] 2) The very poor rear visibility, not at all helped by the tailgate window being so dark. You're going to need that backup camera, baby: make sure to wipe it clean, daily. 3) The long string of buttons (swappable between climate controls and infotainment) are much too small, and many button hits will turn on AC or defrost by mistake, while you're driving. Talk about distraction. 4) The awful garbage-truck reverse noise, which--get this--is broadcast at high volume from the *front* of the car. Duh?! Actually we both love the car, despite (or having managed to turn off) many of the nannyish stupidities. 1) The two 120V/15A outlets, couple to a 77-kWh battery, mean that we can pension off our 2.5 kW gas generator in case a hurricane comes in. 2) Android auto works fine (USB cable only). 3) The stereo is OK (Meridian, but nothing special). 4) Note also that, while many reviews say it doesn't have much room...it's a *car*, not a monster American SUV that you climb into. If you need that, this ain't it. 5) Rear seat space is more than ample, and even with the rear seats up the trunk is pretty large; with the seats down, it's huge. Do reviewers all have 6 kids, or what? Driving? With the battery on the floor, it handles very very well. I haven't really tried the real twisties yet, but I'm already sure that this (the AWD version) is a car that will go just where you point it, even in rain and slush and snow. Forget the GT: this is all you need. BTW, we bought our Wind AWD just before the Light dual-motor AWD was announced; go for it. Time to hang up the ranting pen... Bye!

So Close to Great!
I purchased a 2023 GT-Line in October. I fell in love with the Matte Gray finish and the driving capability of the car. However, within the first few weeks I started to notice several annoying flaws. I actually traded my car in after three months for a Genesis EV70. The Kia just failed at being refined enough for a $50k+ car. Here are my Pros and Cons. Pros: *Amazing car to drive - suburb acceleration and handling *Controls - easy acccess to heated seats and steering wheel controls *KIA APP - good functionality of Kia APP for remote starting car and other features *Intuititive controls *I-Pedal - one pedal driving is amazing Cons *I HATE the door handles - There are automated by motion, but do not know whether you're coming or going. If the car is unlocked and you approach it, then it may lock! Really annoying. *Cold Air on the Floor - My feet were always cold in the car. It turns out the open center counsel was not sealed well and cold air was getting into the car. I had to run the temp over 76 to keep my feet warm. *Vibrations and rattling - with items in the cup holders *Uncomfortable seats - the seats are OK, but a little hard for my taste. Kia made a great electric car with the EV6, but should have finished the car off with a touch more quality, especially at the price point. The care is SO close to being great.

Issues
I bought the EV6 in May of 23. I started having ac issues. The replaced all the components after several issues and sitting in the shop for over a month. I also started having issues with drive to reverse but that could not be " duplicated". I requested buyback. Kia corporate, BBB, Attorney General have all have been contacted. They could not get responses from the company. This has to be the worst service, communication etc. I do not recommend KIA or the EV6 unless you want issues and horrible communication from corporate.

I just love this car
The ride and handling on the car are amazing....best suspension since I owned a Porsche. More comfortable than the BMW I owned (I don't understand the Edmunds complaint about harsh ride....maybe they are used to a Buick?). It's fast, fun to drive, comfortable, quiet, and great looking too. I've never had even the smallest glitch with the car so I am really happy. I bought it new with a huge discount from the dealer, but I would still love the car if I had paid sticker. Range for AWD model: mild weather @ 70 mph=240 mi / Hot weather 106 F @ 70mph=200 mi.

7 months in, so far so good
Smooth acceleration and comfortable ride. Love the sporty looks and color. Loads of tech stuff. Really like the blind spot camera showing up on the dash. Parking assist is awesome. Really placing the car better in a parking spot. Averaging about 304 miles of range when just commuting in city traffic. When I get out on the highway for a mix of commuting and highway speed driving, that's when the range drops to about the advertised range of 290. Car build quality is very good. Charging speed is much faster than other cars and in real world experience, its really no big deal. If I charge at a DC fast charger, I just go to my local Target where the Electrify America chargers are. I plug in with the battery reading 10-15% charge. Go shopping and get my groceries. By the time I'm done shopping, I'm at 80-85% charged. Otherwise I charge at the electric spot at work from a regular wall outlet. More than keeps up with the 10 miles round trip that I make. I don't miss the pump at all and my fuel costs have dropped by over $100 a month. After seven months, the only complaint I can think of is the seat could be more comfortable. I didn't notice much of anything in the test drive. Seemed OK. But after a three hour drive, my legs and butt actually get a little sore.

Awesome high tech and scary performance
Roomy, comfortable though sport seats need to be much deeper. Hard to say what the range is really but does not use nearly as much juice going up hill as other hybrids and EVs. We live at 6000 feet. Takes some getting used to for the screen...some dealers helpful others not so much. Lots of add on BS like paint coatings and $1000 window tint but they took off all of it. Most fun car ever, screamingly fast like 0 to 60 in three seconds! Great handling. Lots of futuristic touches. Door handles come out when you approach the car. Hatch won't open if you are standing too close. Tells you when charging and done...a voice...and text!

Very impressive car. You don’t need more.
The Wind AWD version has two motors and a very impressive 0-60 “blend onto the Interstate” acceleration of 4.5 seconds with its 320 hp. That combined with the technology package which I feel is essential, providing you with real and virtual versions of 360° around the car on the dash, totally eliminating any reason to complain about the perception of blind spots. Very much more rear leg room than our 2015 Buick Encore. I would only have liked a blue color just one shade lighter than the Gravity Blue but not as glaring as the Yacht Blue.

Fantastically Fun
This is my first EV experience and it’s been fun thus far. The technology and driving experience is tons of fun. The ride is more sporty vs luxury but it’s what I was looking for. It been over 100 degrees since buying it and the range seems to be around 250 miles rather than 280 miles, but I’m hoping it’ll improve as temperatures drops. I believe that this vehicle is a great value—especially with all the incentives. I leased the ev6 because I believe the technology of EVs will continue to dramatically change and prices will drop.

Having big time problems charging EV6
I’m the owner of Two EV6 2022 EV6 wind 2023 EV6 GT line I’m having big time problems charging the battery , the charge gets interrupted without any reason . I charge at home at night, when I wake up the next morning ready to leave , I have no charge. Talked to Kia , was not able to find a Kia approved technician to take a look at my problem , they try to say is my charger, but no , since my Gt EV6 chargers fine . Very disappointed with Kia

Roller Coaster for up to 5!
Fold your tray tables and place your seats in their fully upright position and prepare for takeoff! What I love: This GT is a blast to drive. Even in normal mode it has snap your head back acceleration. I find that it takes most turns with incredible ease and the ride is smooth and never jars me. I find it much more enjoyable than my wife's GT-Line RWD. the seats are comfortable and the safety features are plentiful and function well for the most part. I find that it has more that enough cargo space for the average person. I can't speak for a large family but then it's not really appropriate for a large family in my opinion. I consider this car to be first and foremost a sports car and an SUV second. I feel that it does an excellent job at both. I took it on a road trip and had no issues with its range and charging stations were easy to find and recharged the battery very quickly. What I don't love: There are features available in the GT-Line that aren't in the GT and I feel they should be. They include. 8 way adjustable front seats, ventilated front seats, memory seats and side mirrors, and tilt down reverse side mirrors. To me these items belong in a high end vehicle and I was disappointed to find that the GT doesn't have them. Honestly, other than those missing items I really have nothing bad to say about this car. It really is the most fun to drive car I have ever owned.

Land Jet
This car is great. I looked at most EV’s between $45,000-$60,000 and I felt this was the best value. I purchased the AWD wind. Put this in Sport mode and be prepared for some fun. Acceleration is ridiculous when in Sport mode. I am also able to use a level 1 charger in my garage since my commute is very minimal.

Electric Coolness
Had a model 3 Tesla for 3 years on lease. Now have EV 6 GT Line. Comfortable ride compared to model 3. Nicer cabin too. May be a little less zippy but, who cares, it is close to as fast. Looks great. And the controls and dash are better than the model 3. One weird design issue, same toggle between infotainment and temp control. Not the best design there.

Smoothest most responsive and safest vehicle I’ve ever owned! Because of the safety features my auto insurance actually went down significantly.
The Almost Perfect Car
Coming from the fortune of having driven several electric vehicles and being in contact with them, such as the Chevrolet Bolt EV and EUV, the Kia Niro EV, and the Tesla Model 3, personally, the EV6 is by far the best. Starting with its aesthetics, it is an incredibly beautiful car, its range is much better than the other vehicles I have tested, and its power, although not much, feels very potent thanks to the well-made vehicle. I have the Long Range RWD version. The sound system was the only thing that concerned me at first, but after balancing the audio, it sounds very good. It is a well-made car with good space, an incredible range, and a very comfortable interior. I would give it a 10/10 if it weren't for one thing: the insurance. The insurance for this vehicle is very expensive, $300/month in California. Other than that, this car is perfect. I love it.

A Stressful Experience
Gives a nice ride but charging it becomes difficult. Fast chargers are not easily available and the level 2 if you find one near your home require 12+ hours. I would not recommended if your plans involve taking long distance road trips. I recommend you check for charging stations near your apartment, if they are in working order and if the area is safe to leave your car charging for a long period of time. Car was hit while parked. It took 3 months to get parts and the KIA dealership did not provide a loaner car.
Good. Could have been great.
2023 Wind AWD. Drives really well. Sport mode acceleration is ridiculous so I keep it on ECO. The interior dimensions and room are great. Much larger vehicle than it looks from the outside. Rear legroom is particularly spacious, even with a long legged driver in front. Seats are comfy but nothing like Volvo’s awesome seats. Biggest complaint is the tech interface and setup. Way too much complicated detail in the SW controls and setup. Could have made it simpler and cleaner. Hope they do an overhaul and OTA update to improve it but I doubt it. Overall happy with the vehicle though it is expensive. With some minor improvements it could be great.

Love/hate this car.
Car drives great, but clunky, unintuitive electronics + really poor visibility & limited range nearly negate the positive aspects.
EV 6 wind AWD is Mostly flawless.
Likes: Acceleration, speed, comfort, design, road noise, no gas, good lease. Handling is fantastic for an SUV, sportier than I was expecting and I came from a BRZ... Dislikes: -Handles ( I would like them if they popped out on their own like on the higher trims) -Charging network (not really Kias fault, but they should get with the other manufacturers of CCS port cars and help electrify america build a better network than Tesla.). I did take a long trip (500 miles) on my first week and have to say that the range was everything they said it would be, the charging on the road was as fast as they claimed (went from 31 to 98% in like 20is minutes). -Dark interior, needs some lighting like on the Ioniq 6

Kia connect doesn’t work
I traded in an Audi Etron and bought the EV6. The car feels much lighter than the Audi and more like a normal car but with much faster acceleration. It’s quiet and the finish is pretty good. Not as good as the Audi but acceptable. In general I am fairly happy with the car but have just discovered that Kia Connect doesn’t work because I bought the car in Massachusetts. This allows you to connect to the car with an app. This functionality is standard for any EV these days and I found it indispensable for my other two cars. It can also be used to track the car in the event it is stolen or make sure your kids have enough charge to get home. Etc etc. None of this works in Massachusetts due to some kind of dispute with the right to repair law. Other car manufacturers still allow their app connections to work as they recognize how important the functionality is for an EV owner. If I had known this, I would never have bought this car (or any Kia) in Massachusetts. I might have even avoided Kia completely and just got a Tesla or Audi that end up being a similar price.

Lots of tech, interior materials could be better
There is a lot of tech onboard but some of the features, like electric door handles and HUD, are only available on top trim. Surface materials are hard plastic and fail at the $55,000 price point. However, with AWD, 0-60 is amazing!
Best car I've ever owned
I have a 2022 AWD wind and I love this car. Considering getting another because my wife likes to drive it and I don't want to not drive it. My only negatives are with the Kia connect system/ app which never seems to work fully, but the essentials work well enough. Minor quibbles like no heated mirror and the higher model Teslas are faster than me ... ;-)

Comfort that doesn't hurt your pocket
Mr. EDMUND Expert...this car is so quiet on freeway and drives smooth ...Mr.expert I feel you love to drive on potholes..I try to avoid such roads and I like the way you tried to compare it with other cars but forgot to name any of them..I have rented every available electric cars and I found this car superior in cabin comfort, quality, handling and 318 miles ..than the expensive teslas ..I would say other than storage size ....and most of the people never use the extra frunk..so ...this is the best car so far
It’s got get up and go
The car is very smooth to drive. It is a comfortable car to ride in. It handles well. The only downside is the panel controls. It’s too easy to touch the wrong buttons. But overall I love the car. I test drove the Tesla and didn’t like it at all compared to the Kia EV6. The pickup speed is fantastic. The ride is fantastic.

Not a practical thing at this time
"A deal to good to be true" that's why I leased a EV6 GT included charger for $220 per month. Sporty, fun, fast, high torque, this EV is really technically advanced and loaded with safety features. NOT PRACTICAL for my daily usage. Long distance is not the way to use it. The probability of not being able to charge and the time it takes IF you find a station is not worth the novelty of an EV. Stress to locate chargers for any trips beyond 1/2 of the EV distance stated at current charge level as you need to have enough charge to get home needs to be considered for every trip. Considering what you have to do if you run out of charge outside the availability of a compatible charger needs to have a backup plan. My opinion is based on my way of using the EV, it's simply not a vehicle that I would have again.

Extremely dangerous on snowy and winter roads.
It's no match for Upstate New York winter roads! I have been renting this EV6 for the past six months and today was the last day because the car decided to slip backwards down a snowy hill and crashed into a parked car. Despite the fact that I just replaced the all season tires with a brand new set of all four tires (four days ago), this car when out of control has no breaking power. The roads were icy at the time. However, no car should start sliding down a hill backwards with no ability to stop. This is not the first time the car wouldn't stop. It happens so frequently on snowy roads. The car will also stop driving if it gets slightly stuck. The computers won't allow the car tires to spin out of the mud or snow. The paint is cheap and you will need a clear coat added to protect it from scratches. The interior is amazing however. The steering wheel is so nice to hold that I wish every car had this same steering wheel. You have to use your key to open the doors and trunk. If you're walking to the car with a bag of groceries in both arms, you will have to put down the groceries to open the trunk or doors. This can be very annoying and there should be a feature that automatically opens the doors or trunk in a car like this. This car is fun to drive in the summer and on dry roads. And you will find yourself actually loving the way this car drives. However, the motion sickness from this EV is real. You will feel a sense of motion sickness after driving for even a short period of time. And do not use this for ride sharing when your passengers have had too many to drink. They will get sick. So be ready for a cleaning bill if you tend on using this for ride sharing services.

Great Car To Drive
We love our Kia! The ride is smooth. There's plenty of room for all passengers, front and rear. It is a quiet ride (because it is an all-electric automobile). The panel that shows all of the symbols to control the car's features is the only drawback. It is hard to read and control when you are the driver. It charges on our house power without having to add a 220 volt charging line. It has excellent mileage for us. I'd recommend this car to anyone considering an all electric automobile.

So good that the few warts really stand out
After 9 months I still love the car. The car is very strong on performance, driving enjoyment, and charging speed. The warts are mostly in little details. The door handles do not pop out and have to be explained to new passengers (I hear this is fixed in 2025). Oddly, the memory seat function is controlled by the infotainment profile rather than the other way around. So changing the infotainment profile also changes the seat and mirror positions. That is exactly backwards. USB ports are nice but the front ones are hard to reach. And there is no auto lock/unlock feature for the doors. The hatch and mirrors both detect that I am close to the car but the door locks do not.
