4WD only stands for four white doors!
I bought the 4wd base model in white. After only a few hundred miles the transmission light would come on and I couldn't access my 4WD. It took them a month and several visits to figure out what the issue was and I live an hour from the dealership. On my way to work this morning the service engine light came on and once again I have no 4WD. I've had a problem with this vehicle about every 3 to 4 thousand miles.

Not too bad!
My girlfriend bought a 2015 Renegade Latitude 2.4L, and she loves it!! Im ok with it. You can tell its somewhat cheap and flimsy, but it rides ok, gets great gas mileage, and great features! But, seats are uncomfortable, somewhat bumpy, and the 9-Speed Automatic is funky. They should have went with the regular 6-speed automatic. Go with the manual if you buy one. I have owned Jeeps since i was 18, im 25 now. Ive had a 2012 Patriot Sport, 2013 Wrangler Sport, a 2015 Cherokee Sport, and now back to the Patriot High Altitude. I am commuting ore than i was, so the wrangler had to go. I traded my Wrangler for the Cherokee, and that car was awful!! I am very pleased with my patriots Comfort, Fuel Economy, and off road capability. The patriot has somewhat the same interior design as the wrangler which i like.

Love my Renegade
Great buy but be sure to get the manual 1.4 turbo engine if you're not getting a trailhawk. More power and better gas mileage from that engine. Remember, the engine is italian and italian car makers like Fiat know how to put tons of power into small engines. Took my new Lattitude up to the blue ridge parkway from Florida. Never did it struggle with power in the mountains and still averaged 30 mpg for the entire trip. As of 10/2017 still love my renegade. No problems with car. Have taken it from Florida to NYC, great car for NYC due to its small size and good power. Easy to park, also great for the small fast moving highways there. Only problem I've had is with the seat belt straps in the front, they sometimes fold over and get stuck until you work them out. As of 10/2019 still no major issues with the car. Had a problem with the sunroof due to small leaves in the track. Had to have dealer fix because they are the only ones with the proper tools, which is a drawback but no other issues. As of April 2021 still no major problems with the car. As of Oct 2022 car still doing fine. No issues since the sunroof issue in 2019

Returned it early
Wow, I've seen a whole lot of different cars in my life. I travel often and get to drive all sorts of vehicles on different continents. This was about the second worst experience of all... (the first being an under powered Hyundai i30) I'm 6ft tall and had to wheel the seat all the way back to fit in. Not a good start. The car is full of blind spots and the mirrors do not give you a good view around the car. Then driving: acceleration is great for such a dinky toy, breaking on the other hand is a vomit-inducing event: First time I actually thought it was going to do a head roll... Somehow the suspension is way to soft. Body roll is scary when taking corners. It's also very noisy as others have said: wind and tyre noise is annoying. I've no idea how this thing would hold off road, but at this size, I'd much rather drive a VW Golf... Seats are comfy though...
