2015 Jeep Cherokee Latitude 4wd
The vehicle looks great but it's performance is far from perfect. 2 weeks after purchasing the vehicle, it needed a new transmission! And now, almost 6 months after purchasing the vehicle, one of the back door handles just fell off.
Go with the SIX
Bought the Trailhawk for my wife. Prior to buying this I test drove all the models in both 4 and 6 cylinder. The 4 is a veritable dog and seriously under powered for the weight of the vehicle. The Cherokee with the 4 cylinder weighs in at just over 5200 lbs and the 6 cylinder at just over 5600 lbs. Went with the TW in 6 cylinder because of the nicer features.

Crime it's called a Jeep
It's my fault for purchasing this high priced piece of hot trash. After owning a 1998 Cherokee that gave me ZERO issues and a half million miles (literally) I decided to try another twenty years later. I'm not stupid, I realize nothing will produce what the old fashioned straight six would in terms of dependability and torque, but it's a new era and it's all about mpg and style. I test drove the Wrangler, Grand Cherokee and of course this rolling hemroid before burning my cashier's check away on the Trail Hawk. Ranting about how terrible everything from acceleration to zero torque, to the plastic interior and cramped quarters won't do it any justice. Please just realize that your better off buying a Honda fit and spray painting a 4*4 Badge on it. Their about the same except maybe the fit has more testosterone. I just cannot get over how Daimler murdered this brand name. The other two "jeeps" I test drove had mini van V6 engines in them and also needed a strong wind from the back and a downhill to get up and move. If your thinking of buying a "jeep" after 2003 model year then do what I should have done and burn your money outside the dealership and know it's better than driving out of the lot in your new Fiat with an awd option called jeep. I paid cash for mine and plan on donating it to heritage for the blind or cars for kids in order to regain at least some of my dignity. Rest in peace Jeep.

So regretful
Everyone is telling the truth about the transmission. It feels like someone is slamming into the back of us. Its so scary. The car putts like a hoopty and is so loud it's embarrassing to be in a new car. I was replacing a luxury edition Mercury Mountaineer so imagine my frustratiin. The battery is missing a bolt, the rear seat belt is broken and we haven't even had it a year. The backup cam froze on me and I almost ran into a wall in my garage. When I noticed how loud the car is, I took it back to the dealership immediately, only to be told everything is fine. Sometimes it shakes so bad you can't see clearly in the mirror. There always feels like something is scraping when we're driving! I was told it could be the software making it jump. There have already been 2 recalls! The air and heat do not barely blow on your feet. This car scares me so much; I don't feel safe in it. I hate this car and want to drive it over a cliff! The sad part is i talked my husband into buying although he wanted something else. Its too much. I cant. . . .

Trailhawk v6
I was reading the negative reviews and I completely sympathize with those that bought a lemon, however, I have to say that I couldn't be happier with my Jeep. This is the first Jeep my wife and I have owned and we absolutely love it. It's the perfect combination of utility, practicality, and outdoorsy fun for our small family and I regularly get 26 mpg on the highway. For a 4WD with skid plates that's not bad. We have luckily not been plaqued by any transmission or engine problems and have honestly nothing really negative to say about this little jeep other than the price is a bit steep in trailhawk clothes. It has had a couple of recalls and software updates but nothing that has yet rendered it to be a pain or a regret. After reading several unhappy reviews the common themes I've noticed are that the four cylinder models seem to leave more people unhappy than the the sixes and the more tech, the more trouble.
