Fast and Luxurious

At first I wasn't sure I liked the taller and wider exterior styling but now am getting used to it. Not as sleek as my 99 XJR but a whole lot better car. Ride is noticably better and handling much more precise. Faster too and is much quieter, both inside and from outside. Easier to wash and wax with fewer sharp corners and edges. Shifts too quickly from 1st to 2nd gear but is better in sport mode. The seats are now very comfortable and deep enough to support thighs properly. The wide tires take a set when cold and bump until warmed up.

The new Jaquar VandenPlas carries full comfort while driving in the city and especially on the highway. The faster you go, the smoother it feels. The 16 position seat gives the driver lumbar support that makes the drive tireless.

WHY I BOUGHT A 2003 RATHER THEN A 2004

I'VE BOUGHT NEW JAGUARS SINCE 1985. THE 2004 MODEL IS THE BIGGEST LET DOWN I HAVE SEEN SINCE THE EARLY 90'S WHEN THEY REMOVED THE TRADITIONAL HOOD STYLING , ONLY TO LOSE SALES AND REPLCE IT LATER. THERE MUST BE SOME YOUNG STYLIST FROM FORD , THAT RUINED THE VENERABLE JAGUAR LOOK . THEY FORDIZED THE 2004 XJ. THE GAS CAP IS NOW LIKE THE CROWN VIC, THE HOOD OPENS LIKE A TAURUS, AND THE ONCE SLEEK LINES ,NOW RESEMBLE THE TOWNCAR. BUY A RMAINING 2003 ASAP BEFORE THEY ARE GONE. ONE MIDWEST LONG TIME DEALER/ OWNER REFUSED TO DISCOUNT OFF LIST ON THE '03. HE SAID " PEOPLE COME IN AND TAKE ONE LOOK ATR THE '04 AND SAY I'LL TAKE AN '03.

The ride is very rough,I feel every bump in steering wheel and seat. The road noise is very loud, it appears to come from the wheels and floor,on some bumps the suspension system feels like it is bottoming out. This is my third jaguar and I believe it is the worst one. The front seats are very uncomfortable especially when getting out of the car due to the high edge of the seat.If I had purchased this car instead of leasing I would be trading the car.
