Second Tucson! Better Than the First!
I had leased a 2017 Tucson and drove it for three years. In those three years I had to replace one tire and one battery. That was all the trouble I had. I should add that I was proactive with the battery so I never had a problem. I leased a 2020 in November. I went from a SE to a Sport. The Sport has a lot more bells and whistles. It has heated seats, a premier sound system, automatic tailgate, plus a bunch of other things. The biggest change was that I went from their 2.0 liter engine to their 2.4 liter engine. The difference is pronounced. Acceleration on the older car could be a bit sluggish. The 2.4 is not sluggish at all. The premier sound system is really great. Okay, I love the heated seats too. The ride is comfortable. The controls are easy and very intuitive. Setting up things like the clock is a breeze. I test drove the CRV and found the controls to be more complicated and the car was, at least for me, very uncomfortable. The Tucson is a delight to drive and to ride in. My only knocks are these: The automatic tailgate, while really good, is something you have to get used to. Standing behind the car can launch the tailgate unexpectedly. The gas mileage is mediocre. Great car and a really good deal. You get a lot for less money with Hyundai.

Not a bad commuter, but lacking for real adventure
This car is good, but missing many essentials for a serious AWD vehicle, but still offers a lot. My model is equipped with the automatic lane assist and blind spot warning- a nice touch that my Suburban badly needed and didn't have in it's trim level. AC and controls are great. Seat is a bit too soft for serious travel. Infotainment was good with clear calls and great android auto/apple car play integration. Pretty quiet with a good ride. Where it misses the mark is in a few areas compared to the Subaru that I own. The 2.0l engine is lacking in power with some serious downshifting needed, especially in mountain driving. Many times I had to floor it up a steep driveway in 1st gear and thought I wouldn't make it. The roof racks work well, but need a special tool to move the bars and the rails should have more holes so the accessories have a chance to line up. There's no step on the rear bumper making it impossible to get to the roof rack from the rear- a bad miss here. The cargo compartment in these SUV's are sometimes used for camping. Subaru's are known for this, but don't try to put your weight on the cargo area cover as you'll fall through and will be sitting on the spare tire underneath. I also found with locking the differential for offroad that the extra driveline drag reduced power further. Fuel economy was just ok- around 24.5 hwy. So while adventurous in name only, it does offer a lot as a work commuter with AWD safety in the rain/snow and decent comfort. But in no way does it compete with a Forester when the road ends.

Car has been great....not a single problem so far. Have owned it for about 2 months. Drives great and has great safety features....we love the back up camera and lane change warnings. We bought it from Barnes Crossing Hyundai in Tupelo MS & could not recommend a dealership more!!!
