Used 2010 Hyundai Elantra Touring Consumer Reviews
Good car but
I considered Civic, Legacy, and Elantra Touring (ET). I bought ET because I wanted to save money. Fuel Economy was okay, 26.6 MPG combined driving city and highway. As you know, new sonata 2011 can save more gas. I found that door lock was not working sometimes. After restart Engine, the door lock works fine. I changed 2 rims and 2 tires. The one original rim costed me $360 and the original tire cost me $168. Use tirerack.com, not Hyundai Dealer service. I think the original rim and tire is too weak. The good thing was no power train problems so far.
Fun Little Wagon
We recently traded our Sonata (2010) for this Elantra Touring. The Sonata was (and is) a great car, but we wanted more rearward visibility and less bulk. This car fills the bill, and adds a fun/sporty factor along with it. So far, we have really enjoyed the car and look forward to a lot of pleasant miles together.

New Purchase
Pros: Roomy interior, they have taken a few inches from the back and added additional passenger leg room. Lots of features in the SE AT, sun roof, XM, mp3 stereo w/USB and iPOD jacks, ESC, airbags, etc. Cons: ride is stiffer than the Ford Focus wagon it is replacing. Fuel mileage is not fantastic - just average.
Very Strong Design
Traded in a V6 Sonata and MPG already has improved from 18 to 26 in mostly urban driving. I drove both the automatic and the 5 speed and there really is no comparison -- if you can drive stick go for it, it's a much better experience. The utility of the car is amazing with tons of space, seating for 4 reasonable sized adults, and respectable mileage (though could always be better!). Truly a good compromise if you need an SUV but believe that gas prices will just continue to increase faster than your pay. BTW, it is a European design so the ride is intended to be tight vs. cushion-y. It is more like a Jetta than a Buick so be aware. Altogether a well designed and reasonably priced car!
Love it!
I am in love with this car! I was actually in the market for a new Santa Fe, but I wanted to keep my payment low. As an alternative (I have two big dogs so I needed a car that would suit them comfortably), the touring is perfect for my needs. Lots of interior space, especially with the back seats down. The car is sporty and fun to drive, economical (so far, I'm averaging 25 mpg) and has nice eye appeal. I chose the chili pepper red (my first red car!) with the tan/taupe interior: really nice combo. The bluetooth and XM/Sirius system is great. Excellent safety features, unbeatable price, and a quiet ride. I would highly recommend this car to anyone.
