Top of the line, 2019 Honda Ridgeline Black Edition. Comfortable and safe driver, all day long front seats. Handling is super good. Nicely tuned trans to engine, and all of the technical safety features - though most are far too sensitive and wear on the nerves constantly sounding. Adaptive cruise control, but disengages at a lower speed - why??? Fit and finish typically good Honda, and amazing space for the front seat occupants. Engine power is adequate. The touchscreen/radio/nav is pretty much a nightmare to operate - worst I have ever experienced. Voice commands are not intuitive. Horrendous, not-wide folding center arm rests are a total loser. Top of the line and no turn signals on side mirrors? Turn signals are buried on the bottom fascia - it makes me feel like my vehicle is blind to other drivers. Rear doors do not open anywhere near wide enough. Back seats are pretty much useless, as only a small child can fit in them. The trunk/cooler in the rear bed is a neat idea, unless you have a tonneau cover - then it becomes a real knuckle buster. Great two way door in the bed. Asthetically, the wheels are a four out of ten (with locking wheels - like anyone would want to steal those things?). The piano key trim is impossible to keep clean and smudge free, and I literally must use plastic polish just to wipe them off. Overall, a decent vehicle, but for the price should be so much more and certainly better, more thoughtful design items.

Not very Ridgeline happy

Was so excited when I bought my 2019 Honda Ridgeline RTL-T, I figured with Honda's reputation, I would have this truck a very long time, at the first oil change, there was a recall on the truck which Honda took care of. I babied this truck for a year and the first warm day, this week, discovered the air didn't work, carried it to the dealer and the air conditioner compressor has gone out and with only 6,100 miles on the truck, is going to have to be replaced, so much for Honda reliability. Is it just me or should you expect more out of a $40,000 vehicle.

1. Smallest legroom in the class. 2. No way to locked and securing the tailgate. 3. No ventilated seats in the car with the only option of leather seats on higher trims like in Canada for example. 4. The navigation without the knobs for channels change or volume adjusting and very shiny glassy screen prone to finger prints is slow and difficult to use. The car drives like an SUV not a typical pickup, the cabin is quiet and roomy but leg room in the front is small, the back door don't open very wide which may make a problem when loading or unloading long, fix object like a flat 60' TV or a maintain bike. For a long or a short trip for somebody with a average high it is a very easy to live with pick up, the most comfortable in the class for sure. I wouldn't mind to get a lower trim but I would have to give up with a lot of safety features available only on the higher trims and when deciding to spend close to $40G my expectations are higher than for a vehicle $10G cheaper. It is a good looking, easy to drive everyday pickup for an average Joe but with not so many options available to personalize the vehicle.

Great truck but needs more power

I purchased my RTL-E in October of 2019. The truck is extremely comfortable, and rides great. This is not a "work" truck - it is used for commuting and picking up things for projects around the house. All in all I am very happy with my purchase, but do think that Honda charges more than they should for these trucks. I do have a few complaints with the truck. 1) In my opinion, this truck is severely under-powered - it cannot get out of it's own way. It needs another 40 or 50 HP. 2) For the amount of money I spent on the truck, this model should have door lock sensors on the back doors. Even my old 2005 Avalon Limited had sensors on all 4 doors. I hate having to stand in front of the driver side door to open the rear doors, so I can put my brief case in every morning. 3) There are back-up camera's and sensors that alarm when you approach an obstacle. There are sensors that warn you when your front bumper corners approach an obstacle. However, when parking straight on, there are no sensors that guide you when to stop. This is very annoying. All in all, a great truck, but does need some improvement.

I've had the Ridgeline for 7 months. In general, I love it. It rides like a car, is comfortable, great looking, functional, and I got a very fair deal. However, this is my first Honda and I guess that I expected more from such a well respected company. The first issue I had was finding out that my 2019 truck didn't have my home address, not even the street, which has been here for 4 years. Really Honda, you shipped a vehicle with 2015 GPS info? Secondly, the voice activated phone is a joke. I'll never use it because it NEVER understands any name and if you finally say it exactly how it wants it, you then realize that the name you ask for will come up in 5 different versions, most that have nothing to do with the right person. So if you are a tech geek, you will hate this truck. Fortunately for me, I care more about the meat and potatoes and there is much to love here.
